This place is supposed to open at noon. I’ve been by three Saturdays in a row. It’s never open.

This shop is a closet. There can only be no more than 4 people at a time in there. The shaved ice was ok. We were expecting Hawaiian style shaved ice. The weather was very hot & humid and the family were craving for shaved ice with ice cream, condensed milk & maybe azuki beans. This place doesn’t serve ice cream. Only shaved ice. We’ve had better for the price.

Hawaiian Shave Ice Co gets an «A» for effort. Overall, the shaved ice here falls a bit short of anything that’s comparable to the real deal. Regardless, Hawaiian Shave Ice Co was pretty good and refreshing over a hot weekend afternoon. Hawaiian’s location is a bit odd in that the area is filled with Solvang’s finest(Danish) stores/restaurants/shops. The place is on a corner of a busy intersection. The prices are affordable(for syrup and ice), but they have yet to master getting the syrup to the bottom of the ice/cup. Thus, they don’t add enough syrup to sustain the flavor all the way through. Other than that, if it’s hot in Solvang and you’re full from the Danish food and pastries and want something light and refreshing, check out Hawaiian Shave Ice Co.
