The Big Bopper feels like a throwback to a bygone era of the drive in restaurant. A more expensive version, nearly $ 10 for a burger and fries, but a throwback all the same. I had the Big Bopper Burger and fries. It is served on a sourdough roll from a local bakery. The fries are nothing special, but the burger has moved itself into my Top 5 favorite burgers. Juicy patty, veg on burger is fresh, and the bun is amazingly soft. It could be a 5 star but price is a factor.

I order the tri-tip sandwich and it’s too dry. Every bite is like old sandwich from last night. Their burger is also dry and no flavor. I would not order again. Their customer service is okay. It’s expected from a mom and pop store.

My wife and I stopped in here on a whim looking for lunch during a long rode trip. The eats were cheap for Solvang. The burgers are a little different than what folks might be used to. They are a little smaller than what you might get at say, a certain clown based food shop. However, they are very tasty. The fries are krinkle cut and they add a little seasoning salt. Overall, if you want a burger, you can do a lot worse.

Small flat patties and over priced. No Bueno. Hit up a local tavern. Sit and the bar and order some food. Guaranteed you’ll be happy you did.

Awesome burgers, fast service and delicious peppers. Usually not to a line. Very good fries and very reasonably priced. Room to park and eat

If you’re looking for a run of the mill charburger for ridiculous prices, hit this place. Four burgers, one fry, one soda, 33 bucks. I should have known better. Bring on the Habit!

The fries were good. The burger was bland & the patty was either cooked before being ordered or was sitting on the counter while they cooked the other food. My boyfriends BLT looked good but the bacon was cold. Lower priced than most of the food in Solvang.

Great for lunch food. Completely fair prices and you get what you pay for. Just down the road from the Ostrich viewing experience.

This place seriously needs to be remodeled, or at least cleaned. I give them 2 stars, because the California Tri Tip sandwich was pretty good. My major complaint is that I ordered the onion rings. They were pretty good, but the cost of 4.49 for them, was ridiculous, for a total of 6 rings. I am not joking. There was only six. That is almost .75 cents per ring. When I went to the cashier to ask why so few, he suddenly could not speak English anymore. Get it together, Big Bopper.

I came on Christmas Day and this was the only place open. I ordered the solvang special with fries. It was just a typical hamburger with typical tasting French fries. I give it 4 stars for pretty good service.

I had a friend who came here often and stuck to the same order every time; The Double Western Viking Burger. It’s been a while since he passed but I find myself still going back to Big Bopper’s and ordering his favorite burger. With a town full of elegant restaurants and tourist traps, I found this place to be neither but a honest establishment with a damn good burger. I recommend all to try the Double Western Viking Burger.

The Quarter pounder is a tasty burger. I liked the Big Bopper. Classic menu and serves good food. The restaurant knows who it is and does it well. The front porch is good for people watching.

Big Bopper was a bid disappointment. While the Viking burger wax juicy it was nothing special. In the Los Angeles area for 5 bucks I can get a great original Tommy’s burger, now that’s a burger. I can’t believe I paid 4 plus dollars for 6, yes I said 6 onion rings. For that amount I should get a whole onion of rings. Please don’t get me wrong, I been hear 2 days in the beautiful city of Solvang and have enjoyed the people and the food. This was the worst meal I’ve had.

Stopped in on our way to Solvang today. Spent over $ 72.00 on 5 tri tip sandwiches, 2 orders of fries and 5 small drinks. While they prepared our 5th sandwich our other 4 sandwiches, fries and drinks sat at the dirty pick-up window while flies swirled around them. When we finally got our order we dropped one of the sandwiches and instead of doing the decent thing and getting us another one at no charge, because that’s what any other place with any kind of customer service experience would have done, they charged us for another sandwich and then talked crap in Spanish about us, apparently the cashier thought I was some gringa who couldn’t understand what he was saying. Honestly, that was the least they could have done since they got all our orders wrong, 4 of the sandwiches had salsa when we asked for no salsa. One sandwich was supposed to have guacamole and it didn’t and one of our drinks was supposed to be an orchata and instead we got a milkshake. Lastly, the tables were dirty, so dirty we had to clean our own table before we were able to sit down to eat. We will never set foot in this dump again. Btw, they have what looks like a 10 year old kid working at this place. Aren’t there laws against child labor?

You don’t go here for a roasted beet salad. You go here for a big creative selection of delicious, artery-clogging, overpriced burgers. PS. I hate that their OPEN sign never comes down.

Great hamburger joint that is cheaper than neighboring restaurants. Thanks out to Miguel, our server, for checking in on us after we received food and made great recommendations about downtown area.

I love this place so much. I used to come here often in middle school. The cheeseburger and chili cheese fries were always ordered. After all those years, I still love this place. I feel like the locals think it’s dirty or bad quality food but it’s great for a greasy meal. The people who run this place are always pleasant. My go to now is the double Viking burger(two patties with bacon and all the fixings) fires and a chocolate milkshake. I personally would choose this over In-n-out any day. It’s that good. Their chicken tacos are also super yummy too!
