Food is equivalent to any take out joint and the sushi leave a lot to be desired.

The main reason I order from here is because they actually have a menu online. The lunch specials are decent, but I think for the quality of the food they serve they’re slightly overpriced. The sushi here is pretty decent, probably the best thing they make. Overall the Chinese food in Somers is pretty average, but this place is about as good as you’ll get. Nothing to write home about, not terrible though.

I should of known this place was a dump when we arrived at peak time and it was nearly empty. I made the mistake to try the sushi. The yellowtail prepared sushi style was gummy/chewy/dry and rice was not sticky. I recommended the Boston roll for my mother. They gave her six pieces of basically lettuce. Tiny pieces of shrimp and one small slice of cucumber. The scary part was they tried to pretend the sushi and Boston roll was prepared property. I recommend to stay away!

Great experience. Delicious 2 nights in a row and the staff are quality people. Delicious treat for the taste buds. 10 out of 10 will eat here again!

Great local place for Chinese food. There isn’t really much to complain about. The atmosphere is nice enough, the service is great. If you’re looking for a nice and easy dinner this is the way to go. The bar is a fine to sit in and wait for your food to be prepared. All in all its a solid spot for dinner

This is the kind of place where you should try to balance the branching off from standard Chinese food and balancing your selection with what is going to have a decent amount of vegetables. This is coming from a carnivore, but no one wants to look at a plate of brown. I dig this place, you get a tulip glass of ice water, a lake view, friendly service and an active staff. You just have to be selective on your choices to be satisfied. I have been here three times, both take out and dine in, and with their extensive menu– my rules are basic, but highly suggested. 1.) Hit the bar first, good liquor selection for whiskeys, but they should improve their tequila selections, Jose Quervo is a joke and real tequila cocktails are great for Asian food. The bartender was a very promising lady, but may benefit from practice or research. Maybe you just needed fresher limes. You were still great, and I hope to see you again. 2.)Stay Chinese, skip the raw sushi, rice has not been tender and the fish is either poorly supplied or cut wrong. As far as Japanese, dishes more on the cooked side have been ok, safe for the lunch specials like bentos. 3.) Try to stay on the beaten path(expected offerings,) pick a meal that sounds like it has vegetables included. I cannot stress strongly enough to request a specific vegetable like snow peas or bok choy. Overall, the service is basically phenomenal, like being treated to a team of Maître d’s. This restaurant brings me back to a sort of nostalgia, and I feel like with the proper choices or a freshening up the next time I’ll be back I’ll have a four star review update. I hope you read this Imperial Wok, because with your location you have a lot of potential, I just think you could benefit from better Japanese and higher quality dishes, even at higher prices given the area. You can even have takeout menus versus dine in. P. S. I am sorry for being pretentious or overly judgmental, I am no expert on restaurants.

Went with a group and some liked their food, the salmon was popular. Service was good. My 3 star review is due to the serious grease factor on my home style tofu entrée.(See photo). Place was clean and kind of glitzy in a goofy way.

I have been going to this location for 20 years through a variety of owners. The current folks have a great blend of fresh sushi, is there any other kind, and traditional Chinese favorites. Convenient for HH residents. The décor, eh? If it were me, I’d get rid of the pseudo fancy drapery-like furniture and go with a retro Formica and metal furniture. A warm welcome from the staff.

The food here is very good, the vegetables are always fresh and plentiful. I love that they give the standard hot tea and fried noodles with duck sauce to start. Their springs rolls are crispy and deliish. Asking for no msg is not a problem. This is our goto for Chinese food. They do need a «face-lift» in the restaurant itself it is showing its age, but no big deal the food is great!

It’s a shame the food is so bad. The location and setting are terrific. Prior to the fire this was our go to spot and we were so happy when they reopened, however it was bad after the re-opening and its still bad. Don’t bother, give another place a try, like Tenga in katonah.

Very inconsistent, and can get expensive. Stay away from the crispy beef.

We go to the place every other week either to have lunch or dinner, we had several different dishes, always great food. Authentic Chinese food, unlike other places in Westchester area, refreshing and tasty. Especially dumplings. Thin wrap, juicy meat inside, love the taste. Creamy Jumbo shrimp dish out of ordinary. I had Sushi several times, very fresh! This Chinese place serves, unlike other places, healthy and tasty Chinese dishes you feel good about yourself even after eating!

I agree with another Unilocal reviewer about the complete lack of spices and flavor used. My daughter and I dined in after her voice lesson, and we decide to go with a bunch of different appetizers. The Spicy Tuna Maki rolls were quite good, balanced and not fishy. It all went downhill from there. I ordered pan fried dumplings, my daughter ordered the steamed. Why they call them boiled on the menu is quite odd, unless they are boiled(yuck). Mine had a funky taste to the pork, very unappetizing. Then there were chicken wings, and BBQ ribs. The wings are tempura battered and thus in this case, a horrible decision. There is no marinade to the wings, and no taste! The grease level could have run my oil burner for a month. The Ribs were also greasy on the outside and dry on the inside, worst of all, they had no taste or an «off» taste. It is beyond my imagination how a Chinese restaurant can defile their core appetizers. These always set the tone for the meal to come. The interior is expansive with a beautiful view of the Heritage Hills Pond, and the sparkling interior is welcoming, but when it comes to the food how did the Sushi do better than the Chinese food? It’s sad. I mentioned this to the waiter, and the manager or owner came over a short while after. I explained very nicely my concerns in a effort to improve their food, because I really want to go back. He removed the 3 appetizers that were bad from the bill, and that gesture alone is enough for me to return and give them another try. He agreed that the Ribs were dry, and with the amount of untouched food, it was clear that we were very disappointed. I hope our next visit will be far better, and i will update this review.

This review is based on the lunch menu. IW gives you a lot of choices for lunch, but I found the food to be ehhh. Wonton soup was salty, sesame chicken too sweet, chicken and mushrooms had no flavor. I had better luck the next time with the Japanese lunch box lunch. For about $ 9 you get miso soup, which was remarkably good, and in the ‘box, salad, dumpings, rice, california roll, and in my case, chicken teriaki. The salad and dressing were great, dumplings good, chicken was dry and almost tasteless. Service was attentive, almost too much as I felt like I was being stared at while eating. Décor is okay, but it is very relaxing sitting at a window table overlooking the pond.

Such a shame. After being closed for months due to a fire, they finally re-opened yesterday. The food was tastless and lacking any spcices. The Pad Thai had no peanuts or tofu. The lemongrass chicken I ordered was not as described on the menu. The egg roll was mostly filler… Will try again in a couple weeks… maybe its just opening day jitters and will update my review if they improve. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere for foor chinese food.

This was one of my fav. Chinese restaurants, the key being was. The restaurant has gone through a management change and with the new ownership has come a new menu. The food is still good but many of the favorites are gone. A new paint job and fresh carpeting was needed, however there was no need to remove many of the dishes that were tried and true yummy. I’m not saying that the current menu isn’t ok, I’m say that I miss my lamb, and shrimp dishes. I also miss my free orange slice after my meal.
