Sonny’s Place

Had my 30^th birthday here with about forty people. They were running multiple parties and it was clear that there was some confusion about which party was which. We were all the way in the back tent and there was no signage directing people where to go, so I spent the first 45 minutes of my party walking all the way back and forth to show guests where to go. It would be a simple fix to get a sign directing guests to party tents/​back bar area.
Other than that, we had a great time. The food was exactly as expected and, as always, this place is always spotless and clean! I would use this venue again for future parties.

Love the place!!! It is a great few hour getaway. The only thing that was a negative was the bathrooms were not clean and no paper towels for the baby changing station. Other then that the place was clean and immaculate… keep up the good work!!!

One of the greatest businesses in the town of Somers. Fun, food, ice cream and entertainment. Always busy always good.

Fun place with lots to do for the whole family. Food is good, ice cream is great. Very nice mini golf. Ppl who work there are friendly also.

This place is so much fun. Great games, food and atmosphere! There is a bunch to choose from; mini golf, go carts, arcade, zip lining, baseball practice and now a restaurant/​bar in the back with bands. Fun for the kids and adults!

Giffords ice cream! Fried dough! I think I am in love! Good reason to have dessert before dinner.

Went there with a Gift Card. Connecticut has no expiration on gift cards. Told due to turn over last year your card was cancelled. You should of use it. Was question if I had paper work, treated like I stole the thing. It was a gift that I was going to use. Was offered nothing in return besides a bad experience. I had fond memories of the place but now they are trashed. Their machines don’t work half the time and their so call zip line they put you in a chair wheel you up then zip down no trees or anything? Mini golf there are other places around. Arcades too. Thanks for destroying my memories. I get to keep my money. Also after waiting for more then 10 minutes and with three plus employees walking around with their phones and a guy sorting gift cards they finally open a new window. As soon as a problem occurs they turn to management. Come on.

Loved the mini-​golf course. It’s about 20 min from my place in Springfield, but it’s much better than Fenway Golf’s course. The atmosphere was great. Lots of things to do here. Seems like it’s fun for all ages.

Went there last night… atmosphere is nice… plenty to do, though it will cost you… we had drinks in bar while listening to live band… the drink pours are small for the price… staff friendly… I do it again… but its not cheap.

We like to come here for something to do in the summer with our daughter. She loves the arcade and the mini golf. My husband loves the go-​carts, driving range, and batting cages. There is plenty to do here and I find the prices to be reasonable. The party area looks amazing, but I haven’t been to a party there. If you are looking for food, it’s not the best. Everything is extremely greasy and heavy. They have great ice cream, but not my go-​to place. For some reason I cannot understand, they refuse to serve hard ice cream in a kid’s size, you can only get the regular size. My three year old loves mint chocolate chip, but it’s just way too much ice cream for her and I refuse to waste my money on something she won’t finish. Overall, a fun place, but don’t come hungry.

The hottest spot in Somers for adults as well as kids! I can’t say enough about the place! Good food, lots to do, free to go there you just pay for things as you do them! Miniature golf, go carting, rock climbing, arcade for kids, zip line, all kinds of grilled food, all kinds of ice cream, immaculate grounds and lastly a beautiful bar area for the 21 and older crowd with live bands all for free! Just pay for your drinks! We go there a lot on the weekends thru the summer! A must either with or without kids!

Ok so I know this is a family spot but when you host a live country band there should be better bar service!!! They opened up a second spot for cheap Bud and Bud light but if you want a better beer or a mixed drink you have to wait 15 minutes in line at the main bar. They need to fix this before I would consider coming back to watch another band play. Food and staff where excellent just the layout needs work.

I’m in my late twenties and I went here on a date, and this place is an insane amount of fun for kids or adults.
There’s mini-​golf, go karts, arcades, rock climbing, bouncy castles, fire-​pits, food, beer, ice cream and batting cages.
The prices are SUPER AFFORDABLE. Nothing felt «watered down» either. The mini golf course was really great, the rock wall, was pretty quick but lotsa fun, and the go kart experience was fantastic.
Go to Sonny’s and Go-​Kart your way to some happiness.

Sonny’s place is a hidden gem. I agree with someone’s previous review claiming that its Northern CT’s best kept secret.
I honestly haven’t had that much fun on a date in a long time! There are so many outdoor activities to choose from such as go-​kart racing, mini golfing, ziplining, batting cages, rock climbing, and a bungee trampoline. There is also an indoor arcade and mini bowling. There is a huuuuge screen over the bowling lanes that plays sports games which is really cool. The whole place is meticulously clean, even down to the bathrooms.
The best part is the outdoor bar. It’s gorgeous! Beautiful granite counters and brand new stone patio. There is even a big fire pit that you can sit and drink around. The staff is so unbelievably friendly! The two female bartenders were so nice, they recommended popular cocktails and chatted with us about the summer entertainment there. We had the pleasure of meeting Marco, the food&beverage manager who was super cordial and encouraged us to come back when the live bands start playing.
The cocktails were seriously the best drinks I have had in a long time. Oh my god, the Sonny Sunrise and Hippie Juice are to die for. So fresh and fruity! The food was delicious. Everything exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back again and again… This is gonna be my new spot!

Amazing-​Fantastic-​great place for families! I just tried the zipline with my daughter the other day. We had a blast. Of course love the batting cages, and my kisd loved the arcade too. There is something for everyone here.

This place is a good time, in a great area. If you been you should. Kind of a little bummed they got rid of the driving range but hey everything else is awesome. The food is good for a place like this and since they added live entertainment and the bar it has only gotten better. It’s even sectioned toward the back to kind of keep that area of entertainment away from the family side. So if you bring your family you wouldn’t feel odd having kids around.

This was a pleasant surprise. Took the kids here for a day of fun and there was plenty to be had. The first thing that struck me was how clean and nicely kept up the grounds are. Everything just looks nice and well maintained, which is unusual for this type of place.
Go Karts were a lot of fun, though SMALL for a big guy like me.
Mini Golf was great too. The holes could use a bit more variety, but again, everything is neat and tidy.
Monkey Motion was brief but fun for the kids. Kind of like a trampoline with a safety harness — this makes mid-​air flips a safer proposition. Pretty neat.
We capped the afternoon with soft serve ice cream, which was excellent and affordable. Looking at the menu and «dining room,» I’d actually like to try some of their hot stuff/​burgers next time. Looked much better than one might expect for this type of place.
Overall, Sonny’s Place is great. We’ll definitely be back.

Used to love it here. But driving a half hour out of my way to find they no longer have a driving range was really frustrating. No longer the best place in the area unfortunately.

Northern CT’s best kept secret. I’ve passed by a few times with no intention of stopping in. While trying to figure out what to do this evening, my friend recommended mini-​golf. So, we chose Sonny’s and what a great gem this place is!
We pulled in and immediately noticed they offer much more than mini golf. There are batting cages, go carts, arcade, ice cream, bounce houses, a zip line, live music, a full bar, and a BBQ place. I know, I know, food at a mini golf place, yuck. Not at all! It was so good. We had BBQ chicken and it came with potato salad, corn on the cob, and a slice of watermelon.
After she kicked my butt in mini golf and we finished dinner, we retired to the one of three large fire pits with our drinks. There was a talented musician playing and taking requests. He was super personable and even entertained our love of hair metal.
We had a great night. I wish I knew about Sonny’s sooner. I had no idea what a fantastic place this is.

PROS:
–Nice space. Clean and well taken care of.
–Battings cages are a hit. They are where the majority of my time is spent.
–One of the best go-​kart tracks around according to the boys in my house.
CONS:
–Turbo-​boost button on the go-​karts doesn’t work depending on which kart you get.
–Disappointing arcade.
–Cost adds up quickly.
–Does not take long to become boring, but that might just be because it’s not really on par with anything I personally super enjoy.
And I hate mini-​golf, so I can’t review that.
