Typical chipotle/Q-doba type of chain. Has a larger, more confusing menu since they offer types of burritos or Quesadilla to purchase instead of just letting you pick from a more simple ingredient list. Prob would not go back. Food was decent but nothing I could not make in my own house.

Will not be coming back. I had the chicken low calorie burrito and just because it’s low calorie it doesn’t mean it has to have no flavor. I pretty much had to dip the whole burrito in hot sauce to get some flavor on this. The chicken is completely flavorless and tastes nothing like a true Mexican or Spanish meat would… have you ever heard of spices??? And the meat was a bit creamy which is strange because it should be grilled or at the very least sautéed so idk how they get be creamy. Not worth 7+ bucks.

Very good food. Everything tasted fresh. Would happily eat there again. It’s kind of like a chipotle but has ground beef and retried beans. They also have those new create your own Pop machines that I love.

I have no complaints with this place. I go here a couple times a month because its so convenient and I enjoy their food. The place is very clean and the staff is always very polite. I actually prefer this place over Chipotle.

Food was mediocre at best. Not a good value. I think I was charged more on one item than it was supposed to cost. You got the feeling they were trying charge it up more than please the customer. Salsa serving was pitiful tiny cup but didn’t ask for more because I was almost sure I would be charged. Would not go back or recommend on grounds that it’s not a good value.

We’ve tried to bring our family here twice. Both times we spent way too much money, and the quality and service were terrible. The tortilla chips were stale and the food was below mediocre. I tried to contact the owner many times to let him know of our bad experience, but he didn’t return any of my phone calls. Not caring to listen to your customers is a recipe for an empty restaurant.

Acceptable food, unacceptable price. Chipotle is better as is Moe’s which is right down the street. This place will pull every penny out of your pocket when you hit the cash register…

I have a chicken quesadilla. The chicken was dry. The filling was sparse. Just not very tasty. Drive down the road to Moe’s if you want fast TexMex and forget about this place.

Just your typical Americanized Mexican fare. Place is right down the street from my work, so I used to go a lot. Finally got tired of how much the owner tries to nickel and dime you for anything and stopped going.

I had the taco combo & the hard taco was stale. The chips were also stale and they give me like 7 chips. The chicken was just okay. The only cool thing about this place was the soda machine. The rice bowl that my husband got was good. He liked it but again it was just okay. Other Mexican TEXMEX restaurants are WAY Better.

OK, so strike one against me at pretty much ANY restaurant is that I am a vegetarian. I was pretty psyched Desert Moon had a tofu option. The tofu was actually seasoned really nicely. I actually hold this place above the new Moe’s that just opened down the road. I just wish the staff liked their jobs a bit more, you can tell they really aren’t happy to be there. Food… fantastic.

This place is really hit-or-miss. I’ll go there one time and it will be delicious and then the next time I go it’s not so good. They have a decent $ 5 after 5 o’clock menu and the pricing, for the most part, is reasonable. I have to say though, I do really enjoy their guacamole.

Great food and value for Mexican in NJ. Let’s be honest Desert Moon is Americanized Mexican. Los Angeles, Texas and other regions with authentic cuisine will find this like the fare from Baja Fresh and Chilpolte to be Americanized. That said the food is great. It’s am easy to follow and customize menu and lots of options for all tastes. They have value burritos that are great and their regular menu has plenty of options including vegetarian, gluten free and chicken or steak. Choices of salsa are good. I live the salsa verse. Good flavor with the right amount of heat. Marinated chicken is usually good. Portion size is good and staff is friendly. In the area you won’t find better southwestern and convenience.

This place is great. Fresh and delicious. I love their burritos and hot salsa! I go here once a week and it is consistently delicious. Ive been to Qudoba, Chipolte, and Moes and Desert Moon is my favorite with the others being a close second.

I have been here a couple of time, basically because there are few similar options. This place is OK at best. Not the food, but the staff and the pricing. Beware they up-charge for lettuce on a burrito. Not that 50 cents is a lot, but why ???

Ok for fast food but not more. The kids meals come with Mexican flavored rice(which I assume most kids wouldn’t like-mine didn’t -) and the adult meals with chips… Weird. The steak in the burrito was very chewy, fatty and the rice had a chemical taste.

Think of this place as less successful Chipotle knock-off. Reasonable local Tex-Mex(?) place. They call the place«DesertMoon Fresh Mexican Grille», so not sure where the«Tex» came from. New-ish mall location, so the physical«plant»(restaurant interior) is clean and modern. Outdoor seating area available. Like Chipotle, you order in the line, and they assemble the food as you move through the line. Service was pleasant and competent. I had the«Low Carb» Chicken Fajita Burrito($ 6.49) which was good. I also ordered 2oz of Guacamole(which was good) but they charge an extra $ 1.49 for it. It came with a side of corn chips which were OK. I had the hot salsa(which was green) and it was plenty hot but not that flavorful. All things considered a decent option for lunch if you are tired of Subway or the local deli.

A decent Tex-Mex place with moderate prices, decent food, modest seating area indoors and shared patio seating in the common area. My wife and I generally stay away from Tex-Mex but since this place is down the street from our house, we got around to a take-out lunch today. Rice bowl, burrito, taco salad. Decent food but nothing special. The salsa is pretty good but the corn chips are crap. Counter service only. They are OK with BYO but it is not the style place that I would go to for a better meal. OK for what it is.
