Been here twice.
Good to very good value.
Staff is very friendly.
Food is very good. New garlic chicken sandwich could have used a bit more chicken but was delicious. Drink selection a bit thin. Desserts are good. Portions are generous.
Only drawback is seating is limited.
Out of the way for me but worth a detour.

These are good people that make great food at even better prices. Their special sautee sauce is marverlous, great seating. They have plantains!!!

Very good food for Portuguese BB convenient location on Hamilton Street in the Somerset section of Franklin Township. Generous portions of food, well-​seasoned and for the most part consistent quality. the large portions come with a humongous serving of rice, certainly enough for a family of 4 – 5, although the amount of meat apportioned in comparison is usually enough for 2 – 3 people with a generous appetite, so you may have to order some additional to satisfy. Good flavor on the meats, but I found the pork to be overcooked and tough more times than not. The bisteak is tender and flavorful. We usually get take out, but the small dining area is clean, friendly and the service is acceptable. Definitely worth a try once to see if it is your taste. I keep their menu handy all the time.

When you walk in you see all these girls who work there just look at you, no hello or anything then you say your there for whatever my situation is to pick up. They tell you 20 mins on the phone but trust me 20 mins they just pay attention to your mean then you wait 20 in the restaurant. The lady at the register is so mean I literally caught her looking at me dirty and MEANWHILE there is a cook right behind her EATING what looks like my beef ribs! I swear he saw me see him put it down and kept looking at me. I’m not even joking I was so shocked. Even if it wasn’t off of my food that’s so unprofessional so be eating where you put the orders. The food is amazing but the works honestly make you not even wanna go in because it’s so much bullshit.

We love it. Under new ownership and its notably cleaner. The owners are on-​site and take the time to get to know their clients and have a vested interest in your dining experience. Very caring people! The food is outstanding — Portuguese w a Lebanese flair!

Delicious BBQ food and the Lala Sandwich is a must (if you like garlic). The service is friendly and attentive.

Impossible to beat the quality and quantity of this place. I got the Paella for one and a chicken plus spare ribs combo and it was big enough for 4 – 5 people. Soooo delicious especially the Paella! Big portions, affordable prices, delicious food and friendly staff! What more can you ask for?!

I was very excited to try Portuguese food and this place met and exceeded my expectations. The staff is courteous and the ambiance is great, but most of all the food is amazing. Portions are huge, the meat is tender and the plantains are the best I’ve ever had. I highly suggest this place if you have never been before. My only complaint as a Barcelona fan is the Ronaldo banner.

Very Juicy grilled Beef Rib and Salmon. Good value restaurant and perfect food. No one can resist it.

Great family place for good food. the owners are very friendly and the husband and wife were so nice to me. I arrived right before closing and wanted the shrimp apply but the grill was off. the gentleman was so nice he gave me an alternative of a half chicken and threw in the black beans. they don’t over season the food so I usually add my own flavor when I get home. yummy!!!

Grilled chicken breast in garlic sauce with rice n beans. One of the best I’ve had. Great food!

Yum! We had a full order of ribs with yellow rice, a small order of veggies, and a salad.
Ribs were great, a little tough but tasted amazing. Wouldn’t recommend the veggies. The rice was awesome!

Their BBQ beef ribs are DELICIOUS. I had a ½ order beef ribs, well done, as ordered (for pickup). Really filling. big portions, restaurant quality food and fast service. I believe i’ve found my favorite grilled BBQ in town! Definitely going back.

Everything at Hamilton BBQ is really salty, so be prepared to have a lot of water handy.
The Portuguese sausage was super oily, sour, and salty all at the same time. It’s served as an appetizer but you definitely need something to go with it — like bread, rice, or salad.
The sautéed pork cubes were overcooked. The meat was a bit dry. But at least it wasn’t as salty as the sausage. It also comes sautéed with potatoes, which were pretty good. Surprisingly, the pork actually tasted better the next day, right out of the fridge — no reheating needed.
The spare ribs were just okay. I’ve definitely had better. This comes with rice, and your choice of salad, beans, or french fries.
I think this was my first Portuguese food experience. It won’t be my last but it will be my last time at Hamilton BBQ.
P. S. If you decide to come, get ready to shoo tiny flies away from your food during the entire meal.

This place is a small spot on a corner. As soon as you walk in you smell their delicious signature BBQ sauce and see the chicken spinning and being bathed in it on a grill. Beyond good eating and also affordable. We pick up the half chicken with rice and beans for our family of 2 and still have leftovers for lunch.

Food is excellent and fresh and the portions are enormous 2 day meal guaranteed off of it

I recently had dinner here and was more than pleasantly surprised.
First, don’t let the word BBQ fool you. Your food will not come out smothered in a sweet, mesquite sauce. BBQ in Portuguese generally means grilled and in this case over a charcoal pit. The food arrived in a timely fashion and it was a generous, savory, portion of meat, rice, beans and salad.
The price point on each item was phenomenal. Unless you are sharing a meal order the half portion. I consider myself a hearty eater and I was able to take home leftovers with a half portion. All for a whopping $ 9 bucks.
The rice pudding was delicious, I ordered the pork ribs and they were finger licking good– sans the messy sauce. I also ordered a delectable shrimp appetizer which served and whetted the appetite of our table of four.
The ambiance is simple, casual, and no frills. They have steady take out service
The service is unpretentious. If you ask for something they will bring it but you will have to ask for things. The beverage cooler is self –serve.
Get to this restaurant soon. It is definitely the hidden gem of Somerset.

I love this place. It’s authentic and the food is delicious. This is a great place to order from if you are having a small gathering and want to have good sized portions and not break the bank. I love the camarones ajos (garlic shrimp) with beans and rice. The chicken and ribs platter is tasty!
If you call ahead, they will tell you 20 mins… Arrive in 30 – 40. They will have you waiting if it’s busy. Other than that the food is awesome and everyone I bring there enjoys the food as well.

Came in for dinner.
Ambiance: a bit run down, like a sports bar /​dinner. Only about 10 tables, soccer on the tv. The place could use a facelift.
Food: now that’s what I’m talking about!!! Fatten your botty up these are the portions your Portuguese grandma tries to force feed you. HUGE! The food was awesome.
Beef ribs (see pic) were huge, and came with a mound of rice and another side. I had half the plate to take home for lunch and I got the half order. Awesome rub on the meat, nice flavor and only $ 9.5.
Steak sandwich, my bf loved. It was very basic Meat And bread a little lettuce and a mound of fries.$ 7.5.
They seemed really busy for take out.
Awesome spot, would definitely recommend it.
