Papa John’s Pizza

I just moved into the area and was looking for a decent pizza place. Being new to the area I figured that a chain may be a good first try. I had seen an ad on TV for a Papa Johns in the area. I have never tried Papa Johns but I decided to call up and ordered a Hawaiian Pizza. Where I come from that is ham and pineapple. Only ham and pineapple. I arrived a few minutes later to pick it up and was asked if I was the order for the «hawaiian chicken». I said no and continued waiting. A few minutes later the gentleman came out and said «are you sure?» And asked my phone number to cross check the system. He then insists that that was my order and we end up having to get the manager involved. The manager explains that this is the only chain on planet earth that considers a Hawaiian pizza to have barbecue chicken on it. If I wanted different i should have specified. I calmly explain the situation and he says «fine, we remake it for you» 15 min later it is ready and they ring it up wrong. I again ask to speak to the manager who does realize the issue and reduces the price to less than it should be. (a good customer service move)
Even though the manager adjusted the price it was far more hassle than I wanted to deal with.

Service is terribly SLOW. I called to order a pie on a Monday night and was on hold for 6 minutes. I refuse to believe that a Monday night (not during football season) is prime pizza making time. Why was I on hold that long?!? They told me to come in 10 minutes to pick up the pizza instead I came 20 minutes later and watched them JUST putting my pizza into the oven to be cooked. Wtf. I have had delivery from this location and the pizza is always good and sent in a reasonable time. But this experience pissed me off.

I wish I had consulted Unilocal before I ordered from them. I was visiting a friend and its always a treat for me to order Papa Johns because there isn’t one where I live. I ordered online and received a confirmation that my order would take 40 minutes. HA! HA! HA! Over an hour later we were still waiting. Lets be honest…20 extra minutes can make or break a pizza and it did… cold pizza sucks. Not only that, we ordered «extras» there weren’t even delivered with the order. It was the missing extras that sent me over the edge. I called to complain and the person that answered the phone told me he’d give me a credit for my order. A week later there was still no credit on my credit card so I called them. The same guy answered and I asked for the manager. He asked me what he could do for me and I explained the situation and he said he remembered me and started to ask me about what I had ordered. He then tried to send me another pizza! DUDE! I’m 400 miles away! You CAN’T send me another pizza! Besides, I don’t want another cold pizza. I want the credit you said you’d give me. He flat out said NO. Now, this wasn’t about a cold pizza to me anymore. This was about missing items from my order and not following through with what they told me they would do. I paid for items that I didn’t receive. This is bad business. I told him that I would be contacting my credit card company to dispute. My credit card company contacted him within 15 minutes and we were all on a conference call. At this point, the guy now admits that he’s not, in fact, the manager. But, he now tells my credit card company that he will agree to issuing a credit and will pass on my info to the manager. He told my credit card company that the credit would be issued in the next 3 – 4 business days. That was a week ago. I’m fairly certain at this point that I’m never going to see that credit on my statement, but I’ve moved on. PIzza lovers, please patronize another establishment that actually values your business.

No more from this location. Delivery sucks. I can get pizza in the same amount of time of quicker from places much farther. The only way I’ll do Papa John’s delivery if it’s from the Highland Park location and IF I have to pick up a Papa Johns Pizza I’ll go to Highland Park. Mgt in Somerset not good w/​customer service.
When u have a delivery fee — you better deliver promptly and correctly. Don’t get surprised if you order diet soda and they bring you regular w/​o a phone call apologizing for it.
I tried but after 2 failures I’m FINISHED.

This place is the place to order when you want a good pizza chain. Especially since SUPERBOWL is around the corner. They never used to deliver from my area so I used to drive 15 minutes just to pick it up. Now, for some odd reason they decided to deliver to me, so hey im not complaining. I order from here or the one in Highlandpark.
I always order thin crust bbq chicken pizza. THE BEST! They have bbq sauce instead of marinara sauce with red onions and chicken. SOO GOOD! plus make sure you ask for garlic dipping sauce with it. The delivery guys are nice and always give extra sauce for free. its usually .50 cents per sauce. Make sure if you pay online, you give a good tip, then theyll make sure they take care of you!
Oh yeah, we also ordered garlic parmesan sticks, its like garlic bread but looks like breadsticks you get in olive garden. SO gooood. Make sure you ask for pizza dipping sauce, which is just a marinara sauce. happy eating!
