I spent time on the phone with the appointment maker answering their questions. We made an appt to have an engineer look at the property. I spent an hour traveling, with related costs of $ 10. The engineer never showed. I called them, and they told me that they cancelled the appointment with the appt maker because the«roof is too small. doesn’t meet our minimum panel installation(14).» Customer service says it is the engineer’s responsibility to inform the customer of the cancellation. The engineer says it’s on customer service. Either way, I spent an additional hour traveling back home from the property with another $ 10 outlay. Note: Other companies I am speaking to say that there may be room for up to 20 panels. But apparently Sunrun does their math differently, thinking only 10 would fit. Who would know? Since this company doesn’t even cancel appointments properly or speak to their potential customers after setting the appointment. You know what this is like? Making reservations at 5 restaurants, then going to one but never telling the restaurants. Except in this case, the«restaurant» is a customer that wants to spend $ 10,000-$ 20,000.

I made a difficult decision to go with solar power and an easy decision to go with Rec Solar as installers. The crew is professional and each one takes their job seriously. There were 5 men working under frigid conditions in mid Feb with snow, ice on the ground and single digit temps. They were punctual, neat and hard working. Rec Solar also took care of all the permits, licensing and communications with local and state agencies, Con Edison and NYSERDA. They advertise $ 0 down or low down payment and that is true. I laid out $ 3,000 and will get back $ 2,970 from NYS as rebates and/or incentives. The savings I anticipate on electricity will be well worth it and the decision to do business with Rec Solar a no brainer.

This was one of the smartest decisions we ever made as homeowners! We are delighted with our FREE electricity. The folks at REC did all of the paperwork to make this possible. The installation went without a hitch and the system has worked flawlessly for over a year. We love opening our PSEG bill every month:(I lied, it’s not really free; there is a $ 2.50 service charge). Why everyone doesn’t do the same is a mystery.
