How Sweet It Is

My review is actually of the service I received at the snack bar at Seacoast Bingo in Somersworth. I have been playing there since I was 18 years old and have never, ever seen worse service than I have from the people who were working tonight. When I walked in, they were arguing in front of customers over a misplaced order. I placed my order, and the lady working the fryer informed me that it would be «at least seven minutes» for my fries, and told me not so subtly to leave and come back then. I found her a bit rude, but let it roll off. I went back out to the main room and waited for ten minutes to be sure I had given her enough time. When I walked back into the snack bar area, I walked into the middle of the same woman’s conversation with another customer about how annoying it is when customers don’t show up to pick up their food. I didn’t think much of it, assuming she was talking about someone else. After that customer left, she screamed out my name and «Your order is ready, wherever you are.» I told her I was right there (bearing in mind that I was only three minutes past the time she had told me to wait, rudely) and as she handed me my plate she made a snarky comment to me about how she didn’t want to finish putting the toppings on my order until I showed up and that it took up too much space on the counter when I didn’t show up to pick it up. Lady, I was three minutes past what you told me. THREE. MINUTES. And since you said it would be «at least» seven minutes, I figured it was probably a good idea to give it a little more time. From now on, I will definitely be bringing my own food when I play bingo.
