One of the best car buying experiences I’ve had. I leased a 2016 Tiguan SE for my wife from Gary. He was honest and so easy to work with. We agreed on a great price and signed the paperwork in under an hour. The next day we picked up the car, he had a gift for my sun and even through in rubber floor mats at no cost.
I can’t wait to shop there again.

They wouldn’t even just take a look at my car to give me a quick assessment. Instead, they immediately handed me a piece of paper stating that it would cost me $ 240 for them to take a look and run all kinds of diagnostics. They were rude and unprofessional. I will go to my regular garage, where I am treated right and not being ripped off.

I’ve leased w/​VW since 2004 and have always had great experiences. In July, I went to THIS dealership to lease and they lied to me and now I’m left paying more out of pocket that what they promised. I was told excise and other taxes were wrapped into my payments, but they weren’t. I just paid $ 700+ for ²⁰¹⁵⁄₂₀₁₆ excise taxes — they in fact we’re not included in the pymts. Also, they told me the last pymt for my last VW was included in the monthly pymts and then I ended up with a bill for the last pymt and the mgr at the dealership wouldn’t work with me. I hate this dealership and wouldn’t go back even if they were giving away free cars. What a bad experience. It’s sad.

I’ve been here before and only for service. Do not be fooled by their online appointment system, they DO NOT do state inspections. I wish I would have known that before showing up at 7:30am after sitting in 93 south traffic :/

I absolutely loved the professionalism and the service at VW Medford. As a woman, buying a new vehicle can be very overwhelming and intimidating. The service person (Greg) was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable but most importantly, he was honest. Best car shopping experience ever!

I had a great experience buying my GTI at Colonial VW Medford. The staff was really friendly and worked really hard to make sure all my needs were met. My sales person was Dan Goodman. He was very professional and made the experience enjoyable and efficient. :)

Caveat: We didn’t buy a car here, but we did shop and speak to some of the sales folks and take a test drive on a car.
So, whereas I cannot speak for the sales process, the rest of the process was quite nice. Friendly sales staff offered us plenty of water and their showroom beautiful. I am pleased to think that we will come here again and see what’s going on when our other car’s lease is up.

Nice people all of them from our salesman Caduste Michaud to the sales manager Scott and Rami the finance guy! Caduste Michaud is very personable and polite and a pleasure to do business with, a refreshing change from the know it all pushy sales people I have encountered elsewhere. I would recommend that you drive a few extra miles to work with this dealership.

We have recommended VW to family and my daughter in law got a Jetta! So now it’s my story, I was stuck in a lease with a Korean car that I hated (don’t know why I even got one) and had enough!!! I went down to Colonial and spoke to Joe Reposo telling him my concerns about being stuck in a lease and asked what he could do to put me in a VW. I purchased an 08 BMW 535xi with 95k miles from Colonial Volkswagen of Medford on 10÷29÷15. I took delivery the next day and immediately noticed the oil was very low and the engine was misfiring at mid acceleration. I took the vehicle to my mechanic at BMW to get an NH inspection sticker and diagnose any issues with the vehicle so i could inform Colonial VW. The vehicle had misfire codes coming up but no clear reason why. I did not get the car inspected knowing something was wrong with the engine because i wanted to let Colonial VW know before hand to avoid a rejection sticker.
I called the service department and they had me bring the car right down for repairs. Colonial VW had the car for 7 days and the only service they thought was necessary was to run a fuel injector cleaner through the engine and fill it with premium fuel. I was told to pick up the car as there was nothing wrong with it. When i picked the vehicle up it immediately started misfiring again. I took the next day to BMW and it failed inspection for the control arm bushings which were leaked out. When i called the service department to speak to Jamie about the misfiring; he informed me that it is normal for a car this age to misfire and that it would need the carbon cleaned out eventually which would be my responsibility. He also informed me that the control arm bushings looked fine to him so there was nothing else they could do for me.
I called for a couple days after that to get in contact with general manager Ken Cataldo and sales manager Scott Carter. Both were extremely rude to me when i asked about having them fix the repairs on the car that i’ve only had for a week. They said don’t guarantee NH inspections only MA; and that in MA the car would have passed inspection. I spoke more with sales manager Scott Carter who told me that i should have expected this when i bought a BMW with 95k miles on it. He informed me nothing is wrong with the car and that i shouldn’t have bought out of state and basically that the vehicle was my issue to deal with now. He spoke down to me as if they had given me a free car and I was asking for a new engine. When really i was screwed from day one on my trade in valuation and then screwed again when i picked up the vehicle i bought needing extensive repairs.
The team at Colonial VW was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. They sold me a car that they ensured was gone over and was turn key ready when actually it couldn’t even pass inspection. Be careful if you still choose to purchase a vehicle from here. They are only looking for a quick sale and not lasting business relationships. They do not stand behind the vehicles they sell and have a horrible attitudes towards their customers. After they refused to repair the vehicle i asked if they would simply send me a letter stating they are aware it didn’t pass inspection and that they refuse to take care of any repairs. Scott Carter also refused this request.
They know they are wrong and don’t want it on paper but still choose to treat a customer this way. I am now stuck with over a thousand dollars in repairs to get an inspection sticker and have the car running like it should. After having it to multiple repair shops, it ended up needing new tires because Colonial VW had put the wrong size on the car and new ignition coils and spark plugs to fix the misfiring.

Amazing service. George was excellent and was very professional. He went out of his way to help me with the transition to the new lease. The guys there have ALWAYS been excellent.

This review is long overdue! We bought a 2015 Jetta from Greg Cohen back in September & we had a great experience. Greg made the purchasing process comfortable, fair, smooth & painless. In the end we got a great deal on an excellent car. Since then we’ve been back for service, and have had the same top notch experience with the service department. Rusty & Guy have made servicing the car a breeze. If you are in the market for a new or used VW I would strongly recommend Colonial VW of Medford. They are extremely knowledgable on all fronts and treat you like an individual not just another number.

VW of Medford is the experience you want when buying or leasing a new car. I worked with Matt, one of the managers and he was very helpful and not pushy at all. I had also been to Mercedes and Audi of Burlington and I liked the staff at VW the best. I tested out many of the cars and ended up not purchasing a VW this time but I previously leased a beetle from VW of Braintree three years ago. The Braintree branch was much pushier and I felt uncomfortable with the sales manager there who played games with me for an hour haggling over pricing. The team at VW Medford was polite and went the extra distance for me just because they thought I was a kind person. Matt told me I could drop my beetle back at the Medford branch even if I did not lease a car from them. They took my plasters off, helped me cancel my plates on the RMV site and talked me through an issue I was having at another dealership outside VW. I couldn’t have been more impressed with the way they worked with me even though I was no longer a customer. I do love VW and see another in my future just because of their excellent customer service. Thank you to Matt and others there.

I was looking to end my lease and start a new one — I’d looked into other Boston-​area VW dealers and actually went in to one (name will go unmentioned), did not like what I saw, and walked away. After doing a lot of research online, I saw that Colonial Medford had the highest reviews of any local VW dealership. And one of their salespeople, Caduste Michaud, was mentioned all over the place ( Unilocal, Google reviews, etc.). I decided to go in, see what I thought, and was determined to only start a new lease if I felt comfortable with the dealership and with what I was offered.
Long story short — I was wary, but the online reviews I had read were accurate. Within a day and a half, I walked away with a new VW, at a reasonable price — and the process itself was incredibly smooth. Caduste was friendly, dedicated, and responsive — unlike the other VW dealer I had visited, he actually knew the cars and listened to what I wanted and made the entire process as easy as he could make it.
The dealership itself is also stellar — it’s clearly a new facility they are in, and it’s very clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and professional, and they have a very good selection of cars available.
Buying or leasing a car is sometimes a painful experience. You have to know what you are doing and how the process works — and you also have to find a good dealer (not as easy as it sounds). Colonial Medford is outstanding.

I recently purchased a 2016 GTI from Colonial VW in Medford and have been incredibly pleased with the overall purchase experience. The process was incredibly easy, fast and no-​nonsense. I worked with Caduste, who I would highly recommend as a sales person. He is very knowledgeable about the VW brand was able to walk me through many of the different packages offered on the vehicle. Despite their very large inventory, the exact car that I wanted was not in-​stock. However, Caduste was more than happy to track one day for me and got it over to the dealership sooner than either of us expected. I really appreciated his willingness to go above and beyond to find the right vehicle for me.
The Sales Manager at the dealership, Scott, was also incredible to work with. He gave us an very fair price on the car and started out with the best price in comparison to every other Boston dealer I visited. He is someone who wants to earn your business and will do anything within his means to make sure you leave as a happy customer.
The dealership itself has recently been constructed and is absolutely beautiful inside and out. They take great care of the facilities and I’m eager to go in for my first service already.

I bought a car from them last year, salesperson was great. Sales department gets 4 stars. But unfortunately service department gets 0 stars, or even a negative number, so I figured 1 star is where it should be. This is not my first VW, and I usually service my car in Wellesley, MA.
Most of the problems started when they sold me tire and wheel insurance, that other VW dealerships within the Colonial family do not respect (as oppose to what I’ve been told when I was buying insurance). But not only this part gets me really upset.
What got me really upset is constant lying by one of their employees (Jamie) that I had to deal with. I even made a list :
Lie number 1: all low profile tires perform absolutely the same, the problem with the tires is the roads we drive on. Lie — the tires you keep putting on my car are famous for sidewall damage. Just read the online reviews !!!
Lie number 2: after 1.5 hours of waiting for my car to get a new tire due to bubble on the sidewall he said they have put on a new tire and it was the last one and it was bad, so they had to put a damaged tire back on and let me go. No worries about safety. By the way my tire was standing on the rack for sale the whole time.
Lie number 3: got home and noticed that plastic covers on my wheel lug nuts are missing. Called back, spoke with Jamie and he told me they never took the tire off and that he will do me a big favor and will call my Wellesley VW to have them put new ones on for free.
Their new facility is amazing, but it should be accompanied by a great group of employees. During my conversations with their service advisor I constantly felt that he looks down on me, talking to me like I know nothing about cars. But the thing is that cars is my passion, and I probably know more about my car then my service advisor at Medforf VW. I will not come back.

Greg was a great resource and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in my buying process. He, along with the rest of the sales team, were patient and dependable when it mattered most. I’ll be sticking with Colonial VW !

I went in to this dealership just looking for information and came away with a brand new car. It was pretty much the fastest turn around for buying a car I have ever experienced. Joe was upbeat and friendly and he knew his stuff. Very knowledgable abouit all the safety features and important aspects of the car. The test drive was arranged within minutes of me walking in which I really appreciated. The dealership has a really nice waiting area with vending machines, a huge TV and a coffee maker. My car is beautiful and I am really happy. Thank you Joe and the VW team.

I bought a car from a finance manager under very certain terms. He has since been fired and Colonial isn’t responding to me and it has become obvious those terms well not be honored.
The facility is beautiful but the follow through and willingness to work with me is lacking. I truly hoped I’d finally found a straight forward dealership but it seems this is like all the rest.
Plus it looks like all our Volkswagens have plummeted in value because the company itself built its brand on a lie.

I’ve been putting this review off for a while but I’ve been here about 5 times in the last year getting my car up to date on brakes, tires, etc. I did not buy my car here but decided to switch to a volkswagon dealership after realizing the original one where I bought the car was not taking proper care and overcharging.
Honestly, if you want a dealership that does it right and is 100% for the customer I highly recommend this place. Even before the renovation and relocation they were #1 in my book because of the service. This past visit I brought tires in that I had bought online to be mounted. I went early on a Saturday because I knew it would be a bit of a wait. I also brought a coupon for a 15% discount. The whole process of mounting, balancing and alignment took about 3 hours. At the end of it the gentlemen told me he pulled my car from the wash line because he didn’t not want me to wait any longer and for the trouble would double my coupon! 30% off a service, crazy. Even during the 3 hours he would come over and give me updates about where they were in the process and how much longer I should be expecting to wait. This is something that has happened at every one of my visits and that other dealerships should take note of. After leaving my car drove like a dream, as it usually does after leaving this place. This company is professional, efficient, and will compromise for any troubles on their end.

I am very satisfied with my experience at Colonial Volkswagen. I have been driving the same car for almost the last nine years — a Volkswagen itself — so the decision to finally replace my car was an important and personally meaningful one. I looked at a few dealerships, but Colonial was the first one that I felt had my best interest in mind, best selection, and offered me the best price possible without lots of salesmanship and games. I didn’t ever have to wait long to be helped, I got a great deal, my salesperson Caduste was (and is) very acessible and helpful, and I’m absolutely in love with my new car. Colonial deserves their great reputation and I will gladly be bringing my new Golf Sportwagen TDI here for service!

Just purchased a 2012 GTI here and had a really pleasant experience with Caduste and the team. Caduste was great at communicating directly with me with updates about the sales process. They’re very professional and customer service is great as a result. The location is very clean with a comfortable waiting area, TV and refreshments.
My previous car was a VW and when I brought it here to have a wire repaired the experience was just as good from the service department.
