David Delaney Violin Lessons

David is an excellent violin instructor and ideal for our son who is learning bluegrass fiddle. He works instinctively well with him. He knows when to challenge him and when to back off. He mixes praise with encouragement for improvement in such a way that my son always leaves a lesson feeling great about his playing and inspired to keep practicing. This is no small feat for a tween boy! Dave’s a working bluegrass fiddler, which makes him even cooler in my son’s mind. Dave is gentle, funny and kind. He also works well with us, the parents. We often have a specific goal in mind, be it a song or an upcoming show. Dave is so good at tailoring our son’s lessons to accomplish what it is we’re looking for without abandoning the fundamentals. We couldn’t be more pleased with Dave as our son’s teacher. Every time we leave a lesson, our son lets out a sigh and says «that was great! I love Dave!» Literally, every time.

David is a fantastic teacher! I am new to playing music as an adult and can sometimes find the whole process quite intimidating. However, David always has a way of helping me feel at ease and guiding me to focus on one aspect at a time. He is also very flexible and adept at providing many exercises to approach the same lesson or technique (which makes practicing feel challenging instead of tedious.) I appreciate his honesty and great sense of humor (both of which make any feedback much more useful and enjoyable.) I highly recommend working with him and have already referred him to many friends!
