Cookies and cream is where it’s at. This was probably the highlight of my day when I needed you to think of something to do when I was by myself in Boston one day. It was really delicious eating it on a hot Boston day. I even came back a different night and had a Reese’s Sundae which is also really delicious.

This could be a BOS/MA thing, but I can’t honestly put JPL as my right-hand ice cream dealer. Granted, they are plentiful, but there are much better offerings in the area — see toscaninis, amorino, B&J(yes, even Ben and Jerrys). I will give credit to their flavor selection and versatility in accommodating towards personal creations.

Reviewing this almost feels redundant because like, it’s J.P. Licks, what are you even gonna say? Delicious ice cream, delicious toppings, always hits the spot. Their ice cream cakes are super-amazing and you should definitely get one for your next event that requires a cake(instead of a regular, non-ice cream cake). It does tend to get crowded, especially in the summer, but it’s pretty much worth the wait. And yes, sometimes people are awful customers and take forever to decide what they want, thus slowing the process for everyone else, but that’s not the staff’s fault. This location tends to get more crowded, in my view, than the Harvard one, but I haven’t noticed much of a different otherwise between them. The peanut butter cups topping seems to be extra-delicious here, way better than even something like Cold Stone which uses authentic Reese’s cups or anything.(Also, why are you even thinking about Cold Stone when J.P. Licks exists?)

What’s not to love about JP Licks? They have tons of flavors that are very creative and all of them are delicious. They also have dairy free flavors, which is awesome for vegans/people with food allergies.

The 2nd star is simply b/c they still have peanut butter chip yogurt on the menu and it’s still good. The should-be-one star is for JP Licks becoming understaffed with surly teenagers who are inordinately slow and scoop shoddy portions. When I gave feedback that they should consider hiring more people for the busy summer, I was asked if I wanted to, «Come behind the counter and help.» Not nice.

Pretty decent ice cream. Nothing to really rave about. Basic flavors along with some specialty for the season. Had the apple crisp and it had a lot of flavor. Workers were helpful with samples. Not too much indoor seating, but plenty of seating on the square.

Yeaaaa, this place was fantastic. Charlotte, NC is home of many things, and one of them is not good ice cream. There’s one mom and pop creamery in the area, but it’s not that popular. *This* is an idea I can get behind. I loved the concept of it(a chain craft ice cream shop that’s open late!), and I loved the popularity of it at that time of night. It was the perfect nightcap! I got the blackberry and it was out of this world delicious, but so was everything else that everybody got. I wanted to return to this place every single night we were in Boston, but alas, just couldn’t swing that. I think I might just contact the owner and ask about starting a franchise in Charlotte…

Went today. I had some time to kill in Davis sq. Great place to get out of the heat. I got a large cup of Black Raspberry ice cream with granola on top. Ice cream was very good. Only complaint was the tables and chairs were filthy. Everything was sticky. Nobody making sure staff cleans regularly.

I thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream I had here. I had a two-scoop of the peanut butter cookies and cream, which, as someone who puts peanut butter on her Oreos, was exactly the kind of flavor I’ve been waiting for my whole life. It was creamy, flavorful, and the scoops plenty generous. Not mind-blowing ice cream, but very satisfying. The flavor list was heavy on the cookies and cream, which is just fine and dandy, since Oreos are awesome. I wished they had more unique flavors besides the list of Sriracha flavors that I was too wussy to try, but I think their appeal is in doing the familiar and comforting very well. The restaurant itself was clean, and our ice cream scoopers very nice. Only downside was that it was a little on the pricey side, but eh, it’s Boston.

Great ice cream and shakes, but lackluster service experience. One person and a trainee behind the counter on the first 80+ degree week-end day of the year? Talk about bad management… There’s only so much of tasty ice cream one can take before giving up…

Love the ice cream. Love the service. Every time a friend has a birthday, I grab a $ 16 cake from JP Lick’s and have the server write«Happy Birthday, [Tim’s Friend]!» It’s no additional charge and the servers are both kind and really good with the icing dispenser. 4 stars because the ice cream is great and the servers are all very personable. Full disclosure: I’ve never been to Lick’s when it’s been crowded so I don’t know how they handle stress. 4 stars because the location is slightlyyyy too small and I prefer other ice cream around the Somerville/Cambridge area.

I normally go to the assembly row store but I called ahead and this location still had my favorite discontinued chocolate chip cookie hard yogurt left. Of course I had to go and pig out on the last of it. I did not like this store as much as the assembly row store. It’s small and modest looking. They had a few tables and stools. Parking was not easy to find. I had to park in the street and it was expensive. I went on a Monday afternoon and only one employee was serving and ringing so there was a bit of a line. However the quality of the yogurt and ice cream made up for it. I got a large with a few flavors in it and it was well worth the $ 6 I spent. The star of the bowl was chocolate chip cookie hard yogurt and cookies and cream hard yogurt. You can’t go wrong with any of the cookies and cream flavors, they are all full of Oreos. I loved that this location had a bunch of hard yogurt flavor options.

Oh my gosh. The ice cream is awesome. And even on the coldest winter’s night, it’s worth walking down the street for. Everything I’ve had has been fantastic. There’s always something new to try, and the staff can always recommend an awesome topping to pair with your flavor. The biggest thing for me? They list all the allergens on the menu! As someone with an egg allergy, I’m used to being relegated to the sorbet corner. But J.P. Licks has got me covered with a few different flavors I can eat without being afraid I’ll get sick. Amazing!

Let me start off by saying I love JP licks and they have great ice cream so if you have a sweet tooth don’t hesitate from trying them out! With that being said. I visited this location on a Wednesday night after dinner. The line was super long and there was only one girl on the floor– after she realized people kept coming in she finally called the girl from the back to come out. We had waited about fifteen minutes before being waited on. When the girl took my order I told her I wanted FOUR ice creams all to go with lids. She took three of my orders then told me to walk to the cashier and the other girl started ringing me in. I explained to her I wasn’t done ordering. By this point the ice cream server girl was already on the next customer so I had to wait for her to get my ice cream. None of them had covers and then they told me they didn’t have a cover for the sundae? I explained I was driving to waltham so they made it work. I ordered an ice cream that the women told me was vanilla base– when we got home we realized it was chocolate? My boyfriend hates chocolate so I had to switch with him. I also order my dog a pup ice cream and when we opened the bag that was missing as well. It’s really silly to write a bad review about a bad experience at an ice cream place but I just couldn’t believe we waited 15 minutes; didn’t get all our ice creams, was charged for ice creams we didn’t get, and given the wrong flavor! I’ll leave it to they were tired and had a long day.

I like their ice cream sure, but this review is for their RASPBERRYHOTCHOCOLATE holy crap that stuff is like warm loving crack going down your parched throat. Hot chocolate has been a necessary beverage this winter and this is the best I’ve had. I’d seen their banner boasting to be voted bostons best, but I figured it was one of those half baked claims that no one can prove or disprove… It’s the real deal guys!!! As for this location, the tables are constantly sticky so that’s annoying but servers are friendly and obliging with the free samples.

Looking for a new flavor to try out, but don’t want to travel to Harvard? Try JP Licks! They have a location in Harvard and Davis Sqaure. It’s also super busy in the summer, and they have decent traffic in colder weather too. They have AMAZING hot chocolate, and they make great coffee too. They have some awesome flavors, and have a rewards app that you can sign up for. I have two free ice cream and a free coffee waiting to be used! Not to mention they have random and odd flavors, new seasonal ones and of course classic flavors too.

LOVE that they have a sundae for my dog(yes I am one of those people and I will NOT be shamed by it =P) We have ordered cakes from here, had sundaes, ice cream cones, smoothies, and coffee. We have enjoyed everything. Parking is tough in this area. The service is normally friendlyish. There is a line during the nice weather typically, but worth the wait I think!!!

Cute little ice cream place in Davis Square. After a long commute into Boston we needed just a quick snack before heading to bed. This place was perfect, it’s open until midnight and has so many different choices in terms of ice cream! I had the kiddie size which was the perfect amount, I’d say roughly 5 spoonfuls. They have several tasty flavours, I’m always a little hesitant with frozen custard but my boyfriend had their pumpkin pie and it tasted exactly like ice cream!

They seem to always be out of the dairy-free options! Which is good but also BOO :(When I have been there, I’ve tried several of the vegan ice creams and they were so good! A medium is perfect for sharing, since it’s a generous serving. Always a line out the door but be patient, it’s worth the wait.
