Mostly open on Saturdays, this boutique is straight out of my days in Korea in adorableness. Run by two very friendly sisters, they have a selection of lovely clothes and accessories hand picked by them and all for under $ 30. I’m a regular and I usually leave with something, even if it’s just a cute little copper-colored rose ring with embedded pearl beads. Don’t be intimidated by the weird location; just go up the stairs and to the right(follow the signs) to find this cute pink and white shop!

I was pleasantly surprised to find this place in Union square; after checking out the sign up front, I marched up the stairs to see if there was an actual boutique on the top floor. As it turns out, there is– staffed by really friendly ladies who have great taste in clothing and décor. Their clothes are very reasonably priced, and although the store is not huge and in a rather unorthodox location(don’t be frightened away by the dark hallway upstairs), the store owner(s) have done a great job of making everything look light and charming inside. Most people associate boutiques stores with high prices, but Kawaii’s inventory clocks in under $ 30 regularly. I found some really cute dresses and a cardigan; there is a small changing area in the back, as well as a lot of mirrors for trying on jewelry/accessories. I really hope people give this place a chance; they seem to be open during the Union Square farmer’s market, so it’s a nice stop for anyone getting some early afternoon shopping done.
