This is my go-to place for delivery. It’s really hard to find good latin/spanish/caribbean/mexican food for delivery, but this place hits the spot The baja fish taco and chicken taco are delicious but the tostones are spectacular — they literally taste like the ones my grandmother used to make. Guac is good too. Absolutely worth a try!

order delivery here form time to time. the food is pretty good but it’s a little pricey for what you get. I recommend the platter sampler appetizer, it’s really good!

I ordered only twice from this place. The first time they messed up the order and sent the wrong items. The second time they mistakenly marked it as pick up and blamed Eat 24. They kept my $$ and I never got my food. They said the mistake was not theirs and they were closed so couldn’t deliver anymore. The quality of the food is not why I gave them one star but their company policies to steal my money deserve zero stars.

Somerville’s Magoun Square captures a variety of international fare. Highly recommend Petiscos for Salvadorian and other Latin American. Serving lunch specials available 10AM — 3PM Monday — Friday, a plethora of sandwiches, tamales, empanadas, and an extensive dinner menu. Delivery is available daily from 11AM — close. The fillet dinner with choice of protein(choose beef) is available in a small or large portion. The beef steak is thin and especially tender and juicy, served with rice, beans, and a side of pasta salad. The pernil dinner comes with well-seasoned and delicate slow roasted pork and sweet plantains atop caramelized onions, rice, beans, and a side of pasta salad. Come(order delivery or take out) for a feast. Delicious!

Holy F’in S!!! THANKYOU, UnilocalERS!!! This place does NOT disappoint!!! Wow, what a treat. I’ve been doing it wrong– it has been way too hot to cook lately, so I’ve been ordering a lot of local takeout. And I live between Inman and Union Squares, so there’s no shortage of options nearby. But I’ve been trying to broaden my scope, because I’m getting tired of the usual spots. Took to Unilocal, read these reviews and decided to give it a shot. I even banked on a long wait time based on others’ experiences. The estimated delivery time, according to Foodler, was like 90 minutes, so I poured myself a cold beer and sat out back for a bit. When I came back inside, the doorbell was ringing. Literally 30 minutes. I sampled a few things– my total including tax and tip was under 20 bucks. The carnitas and fish tacos are both PHENOMENAL. Everything everyone else has said about the meat flavors is accurate– it is obvious that the chefs really know what they’re doing. The portions were PERFECT. I always feel a little wary about ordering tacos because I’m often disappointed by the tortilla/filling ratio… these guys have it down. Nothing was too heavy, nothing was skimping. Perfect size and flavors. Both came with a generous portion of avocado slices. YUM. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. No frills. From some of the reviews, I was expecting a mexican calzone, but this was far from that. The cheese and chicken amounts were perfect, it wasn’t even a little greasy. It was a little on the bland side, if you’re really into spices, but the chicken was really well-seasoned and the cheese mix was also flavorful enough to appreciate. I ordered a side of guac for the quesadilla and it was clearly homemade. I liked it especially because I’m not crazy about cilantro, and it was barely present. The flour tortilla was nice and toasty as if it were finished off on a flat pan– not grilled– in case that is useful to someone. Can’t wait to eat the rest of the quesadilla at a later date– it looks like it will keep/reheat quite nicely. I will definitely be ordering from here again, and referring all of my local friends! Do yourself a favor if you’re debating, and TRYTHISPLACE.

Oh man. This place. You’re in for a treat. As far as a sit-down joint you are going to be the only one in there. There are 3 chairs. The service is prompt and friendly but it’s all about the food. The pork is tender and flavorful and the sides are good sized for how many you get(3 for the Pork Filet Dinner). The Petiscos Platter is hands down my favorite thing in Somerville. Crisp croquettes the cheese, pork, beef, chicken, and yucca. These things are little balls of perfection. Crisp, crunchy outside and the fillings are all so good. Comes with a slightly spiced dipping sauce. I was concerned how these would be if you ordered online and they are nearly identical to what you get in-store. Also once when I was sitting inside the owner brought out his newest creation of pureed frozen peaches with hot sauce on top for my group to try. Spicy, cold, sweet, sour — it was all so delicious and a welcome treat during the summer. This place is a hidden gem in Somerville!

I love the food here! So far, I’ve enjoyed every dish I’ve ordered here and I can’t get enough of how delicious everything is. For the amount you get and at an affordable price, it can’t be beat. I recommend skipping Davis Sq for a meal and making your way to Magoun Sq instead. Recently, I ordered the lobster empanadas and they are perfect in every way — if you love crab rangoon, you’ll love this, and even if you don’t, you’ll still love this. I also got the citrus salmon, which came with seasoned mashed potatoes and pineapple pico de gallo — I normally don’t see pineapple and salmon paired together and wow, it’s so delicious. Petiscos is definitely one of my top favorite restaurants in Somerville, and I highly recommend trying them out!

This place is so good! Their fries yuca is definitely my favorite, but the pork belly was a little rubbery and dry.

First of all, the family that runs this place is so friendly and passionate about their food. I’ve made it my goal to try everything on the menu and so far nothing has disappointed. Johel, the owner, adds his own innovative twist to each item on the menu making it a unique dining experience. In addition to the great food, their smoothies are refreshing and delicious.

Ordered tonight from Foodler. I guess they are working out the kinks as they are new to Foodler. The empanadas were good, but fairly cool by the time I got them… now that I realize where they are I can understand this… but it was about an hour and 25 minutes before I got my order. I would order again, eat in or pick up and eat in the car. I am spoiled from a great empanada place in nyc… BUT they need to have a green sauce like Empanada Mama… that an a slice tweeking of the empanada recipe might kick this place into the stratosphere. Oh and the other stuff was good too.

They got me obsess with their breakfast. It is the best option around. I have to admit that their breakfast dishes are even better than Taco Loco, I know I said Taco Loco. I will keep coming back since I work across from them and love their food.

I’ve only ordered once and it was through Foodler, but everything was delicious. We ordered a chicken taco, a cheese empanada, the fried yucca, a veggie quesadilla, a side salad, the corn tamale, and an order of guacamole. This was a ton of food(and the total order without tip came to only $ 30). We definitely over-ordered in case anything was a miss. Nothing was, though, so we ended up pigging out. My chicken taco was really good — the meat was tender and juicy, the cole slaw and beets complemented it perfectly. The side salad had tomatoes, beets, and corn on it, which was tasty and went quite well with the chicken taco. I’m going to just say now that one chicken taco + the side salad was *plenty* of food. The taco was quite well-filled. My husband got the quesadilla and the corn tamale — he really liked the quesadilla and he said the tamale was good but it also had an interesting, complex flavor. The chips that came with the guacamole were amazing(as was the salsa that came with the quesadilla). The guacamole itself was a bit meh, but guacamole preferences tend to be quite subjective, so if you like it creamer with less spice, this guac is up your alley. The cheese empanada was amazing — I wasn’t sure about ordering a cheese empanada(I thought it would be too much cheese) but the empanada was actually fairly small so it was more like a mozzarella stick which was really tasty. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is that it took forever and things were cold when I got them. They were still tasty, but cold. I ordered at an off time and it took 1.5 hours. I can only imagine how long it takes at peak times. The prices are reasonable, and the food is amazing, so I still say go/order/eat. You won’t regret it.

I saw the reviews here after seeing the name on Foodler, and though… what the hell? The reviews were right, but they didn’t really mention the portions! I decided to get one of a lot of things, and the prices are very reasonable, and… I got a lot of food. The empanadas are basically crack… the best kind of light and bubbly pastry, and I enjoyed all three fillings I tried. The croquettes, I didn’t enjoy personally, but the two people with me inhaled them. For me, they were a little dense and salty, but that may well be a personal taste. It didn’t matter though, because the little quesadilla was NOT little… it was HUGE. This was the moment that it become very clear how much whoever is doing the cooking here ares about flavor. The blend of cheese is great, and the use of peppers is right on the money. It’s not complex, it’s just really good. The same can be said for the taquitos, which I only tasted… so good. It’s a theme I’m noticing, which is that these folks really understand how to properly fry something. Nothing is greasy, everything is crisp(except the fries, but it’s delivery, and they tasted great) and the flavor is there. Finally, the item that kicked this from a 4 to a 5 star… the Chicken sandwich. Get the chicken sandwich. In a country that has lost its mind because some chicken chain put a pickle on their sandwich, the«Milanesa» chicken sandwich is so much more. I’m not sure what all of the pickles were, except tasty, and I don’t know how the chicken was still so perfect when it got to me. I don’t care. It came with tostones(twice-fried smashed plantains) and they’re the best I’ve had in the state. The killer is, three of us ate well, maybe a little TOO well along with a(tasty) smoothie and blackberry juice, plus tax and Foodler and tip for the driver… and it was still under fifty bucks. And I have a little leftover quesadilla for later…

Small place ran by Joel and his sister. Joel is very passionate about food and I can taste it in the Pernil Lunch that I have ordered. The big slab of tender pork with corned crust on top of lightly seasoned Spanish rice pilaf, with a side of potato salad and cole slaw filled me for most of the day. Using the checkin coupon from Unilocal,I also got a free Flan de Leche(Caramel), a sweet custard treat to end a great launch. The price is reasonable and the cooking is good. However, the place is small and has a cafeteria /take out setting, which is very community friendly but doesn’t offer an fine dinning atmosphere.

Ordered from Foodler. I never ever order burgers from Foodler because they end up cold, overcooked and soggy after sitting in a plastic container for a half an hour. However, I was really craving a burger so I ordered their special one. OMG. I think this is the best burger I’ve ever had. I am embarrassed to say that. I really wonder how much better it would be if I ate it there, straight off the grill. Even with the handicap of sitting in a plastic container, it was perfect. (For the record, I’ve had all the local ones — tasty burger, shake shack, alden&harlow, Russell House Tavern, Flat Patties, etc) (The fries were soggy but that’s to be forgiven). This is the only place I’ve found that understands the bun — how to use it with burgers. It elevated it. Which is never the case. It was soft and contrasted perfectly with the texture of the meat without distracting from it. Not too much bread. Not too little. Not cheap mcdonalds quality bun either. And the toppings. Creative and the perfect mix. We got a bunch of other things. Empanadas are amazing. Not sure about the meat plates. Mixed feelings about it. Not the highest quality of meat, but it will do. On the same level one finds at other churrascos. I don’t know. Maybe I was suffering from the vapors. Or starvation zinged my palate. But damn, this was unexpectedly good. Really really good.

Definitely a great place for take out. The shop itself is very small, just a few tables, you’d be a bit cramped if you wanted to eat there. I usually don’t mind eating at a place that is usually made for take out, but this one was too small. That is ok though! I was craving empanadas so a Unilocal search brought this place up and I’m happy it did. The food was delicious, the lunch plate I ordered on a whim(and as a recommendation from the staff) was huge(ribs over rice and beans, with potato salad), I made it in to 3 small meals. The guy at the register was great, very friendly and very enthusiastic about the menu and the website which he said should be up and running soon. The food was ready very quickly, perfect for lunch. I look forward to the website coming up as I like to browse my options ahead of time.
