I had a previous unsatisfactory experience with another branch of supercuts, and I was quite reluctant to go there again. But I just had a good experience here. The barber, named ‘Rose’, was warm and asked about what I really wanted at every step. Both I and my wife liked the final look. I would definitely go there again.

This place has been really hit-or-miss for me. I’ve gotten haircuts here regularly for the past two years. During my worst experience, the haircutter was very cold to me, barely asked me about what I wanted, and when I told her how I wanted my hair cut, she said to me «really?» in a very judgmental tone. The haircut itself was also pretty bad that time. During my best experience, the haircutter patiently asked me how I wanted my hair cut, and did things exactly as I wanted. Whenever I let her use her judgment, the result was excellent. I never make appointments — I always walk in and they always have someone available to take me in almost right away. The price is about ~$ 20 with tip for the most basic package.

I’ve gotten many good men’s haircuts at various Supercuts, but this was far below average. I don’t remember my stylist’s name, but her station was in the back right, when you face the front counter. She spent a total of 10 min, had misaligned side-burns(that I only noticed later), and left the front part of my hair far too long. These were all basic mistakes that would have been avoided if there was any attention to detail. Not worth $ 18.

Let me start by saying, there is a reason people work at Supercuts and that reason is because they Super Suck. I read the review for Nathania and thought, ok, I’ll give her a try. I went in and asked her to trim my long layers. When I walked out of there, I had a bowl cut on top and about a thousand layers that all blended together from the shortest one, about cheek length, to the longest one, past my shoulders. She cut my hair in an upside down V shape making me look like, in my sister’s worlds«a Christmas tree.» I was literally speechless when I put on my glasses and saw what she had done to me. When I got home, my husband audibly gasped. She gave me the worst haircut I have had since I was in middle school, and I have had many bad haircuts. She did not follow my simple instructions to cut long layers. I do not understand how a person could screw up such simple instructions and the most basic haircut possible. Because of her, I will be wearing my hair up for the next 4 — 6 months.

I had encouraged my fiancé to avoid Supercuts, but his insistence that they do a fine job at the Hingham location and he wasn’t going to pay a lot for a hairstyle led me to make him an appointment at this location. Let’s just say he learned a lesson today. It was bad enough that when he showed up for the appointment I had made for him 45 minutes prior they had no idea who he was or what was going on and poked at the computer screen for five minutes before sorting it. Not terrible but didn’t instill much confidence. His hairdresser was a black haired lady who looked like a deer caught in the headlights. He brought a picture of what he would like. It was not difficult at all, little longer on the top than the sides. This woman had no clue, and I mean no clue what she was doing. She practically buzzed the sides of his head then left hair of varying lengths on top, to give the appearance of a small animal taking a nap on his cranium. It looks like someone started an army cut on the sides but when they go to the top said«eh, screw it» and used a weedwhacker. He had gorgeous shoulder length hair when he came in, so it’s not like there wasn’t a lot to work with. Edward Scissorhands blindfolded could have done a better job. Listen lady, I know you are used to doing a «men’s regular» and calling it a day, but if you really have no idea what you are doing, call someone over that does. Im not bothering to call because there’s no saving it. The only thing to do is go shorter and even it out, which ill be doing with my own clippers, and booking him an appointment 4 months from now with an *actual* stylist. Do not go to the black haired lady. For the love of all that is holy.

I got three good or decent haircuts here and I had deemed this to be the best Supercuts. This was pure folly unfortunately as my next haircut here looked alright from a far. But when I got to the car I notice that the edge of my hairline on the right side had been shaved off all the way down so it had no shape and looked very strange. The trim around my ear was uneven and a bit of my hair on the other side had been shaved all the way off for no clear reason. I ended up getting a another haircut to correct it because my hair can only grow so fast. Maybe it was on off day but I am not going to go there again to find out.

Awful customer service. I used to go to this branch and finally gave up after my last attempt. I walked in at about 2:30 in the afternoon for a cut while no one was in the store. No employees greeting up front, no customers and no stylists working on any other clients. I waited 3 minutes at the front desk while I could see one of the employees in the back apparently talking to another employee. They had zero interest in assisting me or even stopping their conversation. I walked out and I will never go back. My previous haircuts have been terrible here, with one stylist who has the worst cigarette smell and she does a terrible job of cutting.

A very simple hair cut that the moron could not figure out. I spike my hair up in the front and somehow even though I didn’t tell her to and I came in with my hair that way the moron cut off all of my hair in front. Her response: «It will grow back» and they took $ 2 off the bill. Are you kidding me? I will never go back there and you shouldn’t go either.

Not a bad option if you’re in the hood and need a cut. Obviously it depends on who you get, but they take appointments and there’s plenty of parking, so that’s worth something. Convenience and overall a good haircut are major pluses for this place.

If you get buzz cuts, this is a great place to go. Cheap(not as cheap as it used to be though), fast quality service. Quick tip — call ahead to avoid waiting.

I recently came here to get a haircut and left with the craziest looking hair I’ve ever had. I simply asked for a 2 on the sides and just a little trim up top. Easy enough. By the time the woman was done I had to ask her 3 or 4 times to change something that she messed up. The last time i asked her to change something she took a big chunk out of the front of my hair. This pretty much sealed the deal that this location is pretty bad.

I went and requested Sergio. I was impressed! He actually knew how to cut men’s hair! He was very friendly and initiated conversation. A haircut is all about the conversation and the end result. He went above and beyond on both. Highly recommend him!

You have to know your numbers when you go here. If you’re a guy and have your hair cut short, it’s hard to tell the difference from place to place. I go here and always ask for Sergio, because he tends to be pretty solid, and I’ve been going to him for over a a year and a half. The others — hit or miss. It’s really trial and error. if you like something they did, you have to ask them what number clipper they used and how they would describe it. For me, it’s number 2 on the sides and back, half an inch of the top, flipped up in the front, and use a textured scissor. Etc. etc.

Ok, lets be honest here. I’m not reviewing a fancy salon or beauty parlor. I’m reviewing supercuts. A place where guys like me who really only get hair cuts because our baseball caps no longer fit on top of the pile of unkempt fur that we call hair. So, my rating scale has been slightly adjusted for this fact. That being said, this is the only place I’ve gone to get my hair cut since I’ve moved to the E.C.(East Cambridge) about 18 months ago. So that’s maybe all of 5 hair cuts, maybe less. What I like about this place is that if your not the type to want anything fancy done and have learned from previous attempts that it’s just not a good idea to use your electric beard trimmer to groom yourself, then they can get you in and out quickly and a lot cheaper then some of the independent places out there. As Graham put it below me, they do appreciate it if you speak their language when saying what you want, for me it’s a number four on top, three on the sides, two on the bottom and faded all together. It’s not a fancy cut, but it keeps the hair out of my eyes, and really, that’s all I need.

Im going to start a petition that requires Supercuts to change their name to «hit or miss». Because frankly you never know what you are going to get here. First visit. «uhh yeah, 2 on the side and 4 on the top. can you not make the fade too high and blow it out?» «sure» 15 minutes later… I have the haircut I so desired. Fastforward 3 months «uhh yeah, 2 on the side and 4 on the top. can you not make the fade too high and blow it out?» «sure» 30 minutes later I look like I was molested by Edward Scissor hands… Whats the deal? It can’t be that complicated to get a simple haircut here. I guess when the stylist/barber you go to’s staff is hired directly out of beauty school, you tend to come across issues like this.

This is Supercuts. It’s sort of like reviewing a Wendy’s. They cut men’s hair fairly cheap(~$ 14) and quickly. The only thing I had to get used to was the whole numbers thing with the clippers. For example, I no longer say I want it short on the back and sides. Instead, I’m a Number 2 on the back and sides. They seem to like that I speak their bizarre hairstylist language. And the lollipops are good too.
