Walk. Sit. Stay.

I had to leave town for an overnight work trip two weeks after my four-​year-​old dog had knee surgery for a completely torn ACL. I’m a mess after that ordeal, and he’s worse – can’t walk very well, is even more high-​maintenance than usual, and needs knowledgeable care about what he can and cannot do given the risks involved in recovering from this major surgery. I called McCalla the week before I left and she was able to come by, meet my beloved Miles before i went out of town, and listen to the looong list of things he needs to be careful about and the various perils and tricks of dealing with a large (75-​lb) injured dog who’s also somewhat reactive to other dogs. I could tell from the start she meant business and really appreciated that she took the time to get to know him, took the risks of his surgery seriously (if anything goes wrong, he could be lame the rest of his life), and has experience with reactive dogs. I left for my trip and got texts and pictures each time she came by. Even though I was still a worried mom, it was a huge comfort to know he was in capable hands. Very grateful to McCalla! I would absolutely call her again. Much happier working with her than some of the larger Camberville services we’ve called in the past.

I highly recommend McCalla. I have 4 small dogs and live in a Cambridge condo. McCalla walks my dogs and occasionally stays at my home when I travel. My dogs aren’t the easiest to walk because they sometimes go crazy when they see other dogs. McCalla seems to handle them well despite their «special needs.» She’s wonderful. She’s always cheerful, reliable, professional, loving to my dogs, dependable… I can’t say enough about her.

McCalla is fantastic. We have two small dogs who we consider high maintenance and McCalla is SO good with them. From the stranger anxiety to food allergies, she’s so accommodating and gentle with them.
In fact, one time when we were traveling and had a house sitter who was watching our dogs, one of our dogs got very sick and had to have almost constant attention. It was clearly a difficult situation because we had to be out of town and our house sitter worked full time, but McCalla came to the rescue and on last minute’s notice came to check in on our dog every few hours.
We felt total peace of mind that our dogs were in great care both when one of them was sick and when they are both healthy. We can’t recommend McCalla enough!

McCalla walks my Newfoundland Lola, who can be a bit difficult and resistant at times. McCalla has really spent the time to figure out how to best fit my dog’s needs and keep her active. She also takes the time to send me updates and pictures during the day, which totally brighten my day. McCalla is incredibly trustworthy, with walks, my apartment, and when I have asked her to dog sit for me. And I always hear from people in my neighborhood when they see McCalla with Lola how sweet and loving she is with my girl.

My Benno is very precious to me — that’s why I entrust him to McCalla. She is responsible, great with communication, and my boy loves her. Sometimes McCalla even sends me pictures of him when they are out for a walk. Highest recommendation!

McCalla has been walking our young, strong, energetic rescue dog for almost a year, every weekday around noon. Jada is a fearful and sometimes difficult dog (but cute and lovable in our opinion!) and can be reactive to other dogs. We totally trust McCalla to safely navigate our dog-​filled neighborhood streets and give Jada the exercise she needs, plus play and affection. We completely trust McCalla with Jada and our house, and recently enlisted her for dog and elderly cat sitting. McCalla communicates well with us so that we have details on Jada’s walk each day. 4 paws up!
