We went here for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. I had been to the one on Park Ave in NYC. This is every bit as good and close to home. The prices are steep for here, but not for the type of restaurant this is. It is a genuine steak house including the atmosphere, dry aged steaks and service. Our server Besjan was attentive, personable and efficient. All in all a great experience and we will be back.

I’m so baffled by anything less than 5 stars. My husband and friends took me there for my birthday last night. best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My rib eye was cooked to perfection! The sautéed broccoli was crisp and delicious. The service was incredible. Never even had to pour my own wine… and my water glass was never less than half full. The atmosphere is classy, romantic and cozy. There was a piano player with a singer and they were wonderful. Expensive? Absolutely. But I believe that’s how they keep the service so great and the food top notch. Somerville or NYC who cares? Had a top quality meal right in my hometown. Can’t wait to go back!

I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I’m a vegan so I don’t expect to have a lot options at a steak house. But no tofu steak? Really? It’s 2016! That aside, I did get a very good salad, thus the five stars. Pro tip: The no shirt, no shoes policy is not posted ANYWHERE! If you do not have a shirt or shoes on you will not be served!

Food is ok, but very very overpriced. I won’t go back anymore. I prefer Char less than a mile away any day and Plataforma in NYC.

Ok, my wife and I love steakhouses. We have had dinner at Wolfgangs before and it was pricey(expected) but we were not won over completely, but willing to visit again. We were looking for a quick martini and a bite at the bar. The bartender was pleasant enough and the bar area is quite nice, but the Martini was not poured to the top(it’s pricey so I want a full glass) .We both chose the Wolfgang salad, it sounded perfect. On the menu it said it was a hollowed out iceberg with crab, bacon, red peppers, green beans and onions. What arrived for us to eat was a hollowed out iceberg with a speck or 2 crab, tiny green beans, tiny amount of bacon and ALOT of onions a few red peppers. It did nothing but make us angry and dissapointed. We expected much better.

This was my third trip to Wolfgang’s and this review is mixed with hits and misses. First off, Somerville is undergoing a mini Renaissance. This town is finally getting its act together! back to dinner. Highlights — the Canadian Oysters and whole lobster were tasty, creamed spinach was fantastic, mushroom buttons and NY Strip steak was perfect. Misses — crab cake was dry and tasteless, the tomato and mozzarella had to go back because it tasted like polly-o, and sadly the filet was dry and tasteless. The filet cut also had a large vein through the cut and it was not cut thick as you would expect at a steakhouse of this reputation. Overall disappointed.

Ok where do I start? The iceberg wedge and steak fries were the only thing worth eating. The 52 $ dry aged(?) ribeye was incredibly tough even at medium rare and not to mention completely flavorless. The salmon dry completely dry. To top off our 160 $ dinner(no alcohol) not once did anyone ask us how our meal was. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Maybe to my brothers wife who is also satin.

Wolfgangs is an amazing place. My fiancé and I live right around the corner and whether we want a good steak, salad, seafood or just a drink at the beautiful bar this is the place to be. It is an upscale, classy crowd and the service is phenomenal. Anyone who says that food and/or service is anything but phenomenal is either kidding themselves or completely unjustifiably portraying so. I have been here probably 20+ times and have never been dissappointed. My favorite is the lump crab cocktail and filet mignon. The deserts are also absolutely phenomenal. James the manager, and all of the waiters, as well as Nick the bartender are absolutely awesome at what they do.

I came here yesterday for lunch. Honestly, I was expecting better food for the prices and for the hype I’ve heard about this place. The service, however, was good. For an appetizer, I had the the French Onion Soup and shareable salad — both were good. The French Onion Soup in particular was delicious — cheesy and not too salty. Unfortunately, «not too salty» doesn’t work as well when it comes to steak. I ordered the Medallions of Filet Mignon w/Mushroom Sauce as my entrée and it was nothing to write home about. The steak, while it was cooked well and FELT like steak in my mouth, had no taste. I’m almost impressed with the lack of flavor — I thought even grilling a steak by itself would create more flavor than the Medallion had. The onion rings we ordered as a side were tasty, yet the lobster mac and cheese was dry and could have used more cheese — it definitely wasn’t the melty, warm comfort food you imagine. Also, the broccoli and mashed potatoes that came with the Medallion had little to no seasonings. The Chocolate Mousse Cake I ordered for dessert was very good… light, fluffy and creamy with a tasty chocolate cookie crust. All-in-all, Wolfgang’s has some hits and some misses, but I feel like if you’re going to market yourself as a high-end steakhouse, at least salt and pepper your steak. I may have just ordered the wrong thing — some friends ordered the ribeye and seemed to really enjoy it. But overall, I would say save your money and go to Arthur’s where you get ten times the flavor(on everything, not just select dishes) for a fraction of the price.

I took my husband here for his birthday & wasn’t very impressed. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and ordered it medium. It came out rare and when we sent it back the one waiter told us it WAS medium. I’m pretty sure I know the difference between a rare & medium cooked steak considering I went to culinary school & used to work in the industry. We were there in August and sat inside. Our table happen to be under the air vent and was blowing cold air on us and our food, so our food got cold faster. The service was good but for the price I expected better. We most likely won’t be going back anytime soon.

Very delicious meal. Steak was seasoned well and didn’t need the homemade sauce they provide on every table. Sides are huge and shareable. We had a table of 6 and 3 sides were too much for us! Servers were are friendly, they hovered a bit but their attentiveness was apparent and appreciated. Wish we had room for dessert, they looked delicious too! Ambience is warm and inviting.

Let me start by saying that this is the sort of restaurant you expect to be 5 stars, due to their prices and reputation. Then, based on one’s experience, you take away stars or not. My analysis has me taking away 2 stars, due to various issues with the service, the food and the noise level. We were a group of six(3 couples) last night. One couple had been to Wolfgang’s several times and loves it. The other 2 couples hadn’t been there before. They did not rush us at all — in fact, the dinner took way longer than I would have liked. We were there for about 4 hours! At first they sat us at a table that was large enough for 8 – 10 people, causing us to have to shout to be heard. So we asked them to move us to a table that was more the right size for 6, which they did. I noticed that they later sat a party of 5 at the table we had vacated! We all ordered shared salads to start with, which were a very nice size and very tasty. Two couples ordered a porterhouse for two, the other couple ordered individually, a steak and lamb chops. I like my steak medium and my husband likes his medium-rare. We were told this wouldn’t be a problem, but it was. Our steak was far from how we ordered it — it was closer to rare. When you’re paying $ 50 per person for steak, it should be done the way you ask it to be done! The steaks are served already pre-cut into chunks. When the waiter started to serve me a couple of the steak chunks, I saw that they were way too rare for me. He then took the chunks and proceeded to «cook» them further on the extremely hot platter. Unfortunately all that did was sear the outsides of the steak chunks, leaving the insides still more rare than I like. So he took three chunks back to the kitchen to cook them some more. Of course, when the steak chunks came back, they were a bit more done than I wanted and a bit dried out — as I kind of expected they would be. Steakhouses are notorious for charging a lot for skimpy side dishes. While Wolfgang’s does charge a lot for the sides, at least they were a good size, big enough for sharing. The onion rings were tasty, but the fries were not. The mushrooms were very good too. The spinach didn’t come out with the rest of our food and we had to remind the waiter that we had also ordered spinach. One couple ordered a bottle of white wine(they can’t drink reds) and no one brought over a wine cooler to keep it chilled. Our friend had to request one. Water service was sporadic — sometimes it was prompt and sometimes it wasn’t. The noise level was very high, even though we were far from the bar area. They had live music and we had to ask the waiter to turn down the speakers in our area because we were having a hard time talking over the music. We had to ask twice. No one ordered dessert so I can’t comment on them, but we ordered coffee and tea. The waiter who brought my tea, came with a pot of hot water and proceeded to pour plain hot water in my cup, instead of letting me put my teabag in the pot to steep. I promptly poured the hot water back into the pot to let my tea steep before drinking it. To be honest, I’m not sure I’d go back.

Wasn’t the best experience. Food took 45mins to come out! I timed it!!! Actually 45mins is being too gracious! It actually took close to an hr. Got the petit filet mignon it was a very dry even though it came with sauce! Seems like the steak was sitting for a while on the line and dried up. The lobster mac and cheese was not all that either; I decided to get it based on the reviews online, but it was very bland. The Chilean sea bass was ok not much flavor but it was the only part of our mean that wasn’t dry or overcooked. Furthermore while sitting for 54mins waiting for dinner to come out, our water was never refilled NOTONCE! NORWASOURDRINKS… The only good part of this meal was the Long Island ice tea my ass was buzzing like a queen bee after 3 sips but for $ 160 meal between 2 ppl I’d expect much better! Would be my last visit here for sure!

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse! You can find this fine dining establishment in: –New York City — Beverly Hills, CA — Miami, FL –Waikiki, HI …and… Somerville, NJ! huh? Somerville has some nice restaurants but none as fancy as the new Wolfgangs. Will it last? Not so sure. This location does not compare to the other locations. My companion and I were in the area of Somerville so we decided to have a quick dinner at one of the many restaurants on Main street. I heard there was a new steak house so I thought maybe we would stop in and get something to eat at the bar. I was quite impressed with the décor. Lots of expensive wood, modern tile and overall great craftsmanship. The staff were all young and well groomed. We made our way to the bar and were warmly greeted by a male bartender. There was a basket of fresh made potato chips in place. We chose to have just a glass of water and an unsweetened ice-t. The Ice-T was served in a Tom Collins glass which is small. $ 3.95. No refill. We then chose to share a ½ rack of ribs– $ 15 off of the appetizer menu and to also share the Chicken Parmesan dinner– $ 30. After we ordered, we had a female bartender behind the bar who asked us if we ordered. We told her we did and she asked what it was. She then went on to rant about being surrounded by male staff and how they were slowing her down. We really didn’t understand what she was talking about but I found it to be quite unprofessional. Who knows. While waiting, we were served a basket of bread which included two onion rolls and one french bread. They were just ok. The bread would have been better if it was warm and the butter was too cold. We waited a reasonable time of around 10 minutes for our ribs to be served. They were saucy and meaty looking served with a garnish of apple chutney. We had no problem splitting them up with a fork because they were so tender. Unfortunately, they were ice cold in the middle. The male bartender was back and when we told him they were cold, he replied, «Oh, they are still cold?» I’m not certain why he was telling us they were cold to begin with. I mean, I know they don’t cook them fresh in 10 minutes but I don’t need to know that they were cold. The ribs were returned to us in about another 5 minutes and this time they were hot and yummy. :) About 15 minutes after that, our chicken parm was served and it was split up on two plates which I was happy about. The chicken parm was large and it was served with a side of rigatoni. It already had a sprinkle of grated parm on it. I was never offered more cheese or hot pepper or even fresh ground pepper. In all honesty, it could have used some salt. There was very little sauce but my companion likes it like that. The pasta was cold but I did not want to complain about cold food again so I just ate it. The chicken was tender, nicely breaded and fried without being greasy but overall I thought it lacked flavor. We passed on coffee and dessert but I did ask to see a dessert menu. They were all priced at $ 10.95 each(apple strudel, cheesecake, etc) But the fresh fruit plate was $ 11.95. Overall, I think this young staff could benefit from some experience. They have not been open that long so I think it will happen over time if they don’t go out of business. Somerville is a middle class neighborhood so I am uncertain how it will do. That being said, I would go back again for the ½ rack ribs and maybe an appetizer of the lobster mac and cheese. I saw it being served and it looked really good. As for the steak, I just can’t bring myself to spend over $ 40 on a piece of meat. Not unless my date wants to pay for it. ;)

Great great great. Had a guys night out here on a Monday night. 8 of us. We sat down with the mindset of enjoying the night and eating great food. We were not disappointed. At a place like this we lean a lot on the servers and take there recommendations because they know what’s good and you usual can’t go wrong. We started with 2 seafood towers which were delicious and there thick bacon app(hard to go wrong with bacon). Lobster, shrimp, crab, all perfectly cooked. We left NOTHING on the plate. Next course was salad. They split up 3 wedge salads for 8 of us. Homemade blue cheese and thick pieces of bacon. Fresh, crisp, excellent. Now for the main course. We were served the porterhouse for 8. PLENTY. Steak was perfectly cooked– medium rare. There was no need to add salt because every piece was perfectly seasoned. We also ordered a couple sides– mash potatoes, wedge French fries, mushrooms, and spinach. Service was awesome. It was a Monday night and there were only 2 tables while we dined so all the servers gave us all there attention. It was actually entertaining having so much attention being placed on us. If you want great service, dine out on slower nights. After we paid they offered us an after dinner drinks which was very nice of them and topped off a great experience. We ends up paying $ 150 a person(tip included) and we all felt it was worth the splurge.(We also had 2 large bottles of wine). Some reviews complain about the prices but if you want good food it costs money. Don’t go here if you are not comfortable with spending money. If you appreciate what a place like this does u will not be disappointed. No complaints. Glad they are new in the neighborhood.

New York City quality and sophistication without the hassle and expense. Hubby and I had dinner at Wolfgang’s after hearing about«Mr. Wolfgang«from my father who is one of the very few patrons of Peter Lugers who own the original paper credit cards and who know the history of Wolfgang and his relationship with The famous Peter Luger’s steakhouse. We were very impressed with the décor and atmosphere of Wolfgangs and the educated staff. The bar is really rich looking and matched the finest establishments in the City. We ordered drinks and Lobster bisque to start and then the porterhouse steak for two. I had the creamed spinach and lobster mac n cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted just like a great aged prime quality steak should which; I didn’t expect anything less. We finished with the cheescake, homemade shlagg(their own homemade whipped cream) fantastic! The coffee was delicious and fresh and I was completely satisfied!
Yes it’s pricy but add another $ 75 bucks for parking and tolls and a two hour round trip in and out of the city; it’s a bargain plus you get valet parking!

Came here with 3 and ended up dropping over $ 300 with tip without any dessert leaving feeling ripped. The steaks were good give them that. Everything else needs work. The servers messes up more than 2 times for. Bringing us wrong items, telling us they were out of soup but really weren’t etc. Things that shouldn’t happen when spending $ 300 on only 3 people. Speaking of which, they are priced like you are eating at the midtown location. Overpriced for location. The sides we got were German potatoes and lobster mac and cheese which left much to be desired. The potatoes were more like hash browns and the lobster mac and cheese needed more cheese and actually putting lobster in the lobster mac and cheese would be useful. I’m not sure if I would return.

Great bar and wait staff. Although the restaurant is new the people have clearly been well trained. We were there on the first Saturday night they were open, and saw no signs of new restaurant type problems. Live music on Saturday night was very good(80s?) Place is a little loud, sometimes even talking across the table was a challenge. Everything we had was very good or excellent. Be prepared for steakhouse style menus where everything is extra and you’ll be fine. Excellent choices included: tuna tartar and crab cake appetizer, filet mignon, aged lamb chops. Wolfgang salad OK a bit too oniony for our tastes. Bar mixes great cocktails, looking forward to exploring this further! Obvious comparison would be with Char in Raritan. After one night here I’d say Wolfgang’s is a little more expensive, maybe a little fancier, with perhaps a little more attention to detail. More research is required :)
