Kim is a wonderful and kind host who clearly loves what she does and the wonderful alpacas that she raises on her farm. I took my two boys(ages 6 and 9) and they both had a lovely and memorable experience.

What a fun time! Our group consisted of two 10 yr olds, a 20 yr old, mom and G’ma & G’pa. We all loved it and were pleasantly surprised to see we were able to be in the pasture and feed the alpaca’s. Kim was very sweet and shared a lot of info with us. Great family time and reasonable at only $ 6 per person for an experience that lasted about an hour. We’ll be back with other family members!

If you haven’t been… GO! Alpacas and Beyond is a treasure for the young to old! They are located off Los Angeles Avenue(directly across street from Underwood Farms — another fun place!). The drive alone is absolutely beautiful, passing farmlands full of vegetables, fruits and flowers for miles(if driving through Moorpark to Somis). Alpacas are absolutely ADORABLE and mostly quite friendly, especially the younger ones. Some of male/older alpacas can be seen just past a wonderful gift shop, on main dirt road, for anyone’s viewing pleasure. However, the younger alpacas are up a hill and you MUSTBESHUTTLED/INVITED during scheduled events(visit their website for details). Their gift shop carries a large variety of items made from the alpaca’s incredibly soft hair, including sweat-free socks for anyone with diabetes and foot problems. Everything from stuffed toys to beautiful coats can be found at this enchanting place!

This business offers boarding, breeding, and an awesome boutique. I totally adored visiting the herd of 10 or so alpacas. Alpacas and llamas are the most adorable creatures in the world, imho. This business only has alpacas, but they are precious. Although, I think that like llamas, they spit when angered. Anyways, you can easily miss the turn in to this business. It is just past underwood farms or just before it, depending on which way you are coming from. It is definitely a fun place to visit, I found three finger puppets made from alpaca fiber, they are excellent.
