This is a really fun place to hit on the weekends. The ‘winos’ at this tasting room don’t take themselves, or their wine, too seriously. Wine is delicious and approachable. Paired with potato chips, the wines are on a good rotation for tasting. Always a fun place to go, take your friends or your SO for a nice wine adventure.

I am absolutely a fan of Arizona Hops and Vines. 5 stars for a really fun and well rounded experience– from the tasting room to the overall atmosphere and super friendly customer service. Wine is a super subjective thing… and as someone that has studied wine I totally appreciate a place that is not only fun and approachable but makes a good wine. I was with a group, many who were first timers. I especially enjoyed the style of this tasting room and their approach to their customers. It’s a welcoming and at times boisterous place that’s full of life. Every detail there makes you feel good. Their tasting notes were fun to read, they have a wishing well in the tasting room, awesome music and a homey feel that can’t be beat. You just have to go there and experience it for yourself. This is the only place I’v ever been that pairs their tastings with bbq chips and cheetos puffs.

If you’re expecting Sonoma/Napa quality, then you’re in the wrong place. The fluffer moscato will turn off most serious wine drinkers as most moscato a are wont to do. However, the Chardonnay isn’t too bad and we bought a bottle to drink and enjoy while hanging out. That’s where this place goes from 3 to 4 stars. Plan to hang out here and enjoy their space and some cheese and chips. Don’t depend on the wine to do all the work. The cheese plate we bought for $ 10 was delicious and who doesn’t love chips? Paired with wine — shoot I should be giving them 5 stars?! The outdoor living room is comfy and great for enjoying some of the beautiful weather. We brought some games to entertain ourselves. The donkey and other animals are cute. And, tetherball brings back all that 3rd grade competitiveness and nostalgia. Go here, drink a little, have a good time!

Our favorite destination in our wine tasting journey. Great vibe, awesome friendly staff, and well designed décor. Comfortable place with many events throughout the year. The wine was exquisite and instead of lame saltines we got matching flavors of chips to go with the wine(even Cheetos!). Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Will come again soon to indulge in more great tasting wine.

I am super fond of this place. I am not a wine expert by any means, but AZ Hops & Vines has a very unpretentious tasting room. The information sheet they pass out is very readable to those of us at the amateur tasting level. The tasting list typically includes a great variety of wine, so there will probably always be something for every palate. Their most famous offering is probably«The Fluffer,» which is sweet, sparkling, and amazing. I always bring at least one bottle home with me unless they’re out. The décor inside is reminiscent of your chicest friend’s living room – comfy couches and beautiful Southwestern art. There is a huge patio. The entire place is pet friendly, so you do not need to leave your dog at home. This place is great, and I think even though it’s located in Sonoita, it’s an essential part of the Tucson experience. It also has the benefit of being a bit cooler there in the summer, so it makes a good day-trip away from the city.

This is my favorite vineyard in Sonoita(along with Joshua Kief). It is a very cute vineyard with a lot of outside seating. They pair all their wine tastings with chips which is a nice idea. Their prices are reasonable and customer service is great. Be sure to stop here on your next vineyard hop!

My friend invited me to join in on a relaxing Saturday touring Sonoita wineries and I was so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience! The staff interacts with you during the tasting session and explains the story behind the name of the wine and the key flavors. Whether you’re a novice like myself or a connoisseur, the staff makes you feel welcome and included in the fun. The decorations in the bathroom — Frida Kahlo, Day of the Dead iconography and inspiring quotes — made me so happy! And the wishing well was just the sweetest touch. The cat that roamed the grounds and the donkey in the pasture added a bit of a home-y feel to the vineyard, so it felt more like hanging out at a friend’s home than a stuffy wine tasting room. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Love Arizona Hops and Vines! The setting is beautiful, fun, eclectic, and friendly! The patio outside is inviting and has lots of room to sit and enjoying your tasting. The wine bar inside is fun and offers a wonderful variety of wines. I love the chips on the bar to pair with the wine. Great way to spend an afternoon !

I’ve been here so many times I don’t know how I forgot to review it! I absolutely love this place. Tucked away off the main drag in Sonoita this is the place to go for some great wine and people. The staff is truly wonderful and funny. Always sharing a fun story or two. The wines are fascinating and have some great names and labels! If you come for a tasting your are always greeted with fun and some snacks. The grounds are great for a view and relaxation. They have events throughout the year. Support local! :) Fave wines: fluffer, imbibe, milagro

Enthusiastic staff and extremely good wines– my favorite is the Fluffer. This place also has tons of really fun events going on throughout the year where you can drink all the wine you want, eat like fat kid, and make new friends.

Love everything about this place! They had a very tasty wine. Yummy nibbly snacks like chips and now these lovely cheese plates that they offer. I had one yesterday for 10 that was a huge portion of Chevre cheese, two different kinds of crackers, & a few chocolates for dessert. The sisters who run the place are always super friendly, want to make sure everyone is having a good time, and have an air of relaxed festivity. Great place to go and bring friends! Yesterday they had a painting party with Creative Juice Studios. We all sat under the outside canopy and learn how to paint a picture of grapes and grape vines. And enjoying a glass or two of vino. Perfect Sunday afternoon! We even watched a monsoon storm roll in which was absolutely beautiful

This was our first wine tasting, and it was a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is laid back and funky. The people are so friendly too! We didn’t like all of the wines, but found a few that we had to purchase: Gracias and The Lobbyist — Yum! I must mention the outside, because it is awesome. They have farm animals and horseshoes and a beautiful patio! So much fun. I(or should I say my husband) can’t wait until they have beer as well.

Arizona Hops and Vines gets a solid 5 stars. We have been to this winery twice now. Each time the atmosphere is very lively and fun. They have both an inside area with the wine bar and a sitting area. Outside they are set up with several tables and looks like a place for small band or other entertainment. Wine tasting is very affordable and the wines are excellent. They change based upon what they have, but a very good selection of whites and reds — sweet and dry. Something for everyone! The owners are beyond excellent. So nice, friendly and fun!(I think I have said fun twice now…) This is the latest open winery in the area(Thursdays 10A to 4P& Fri to Sun 10A to 6P) — so a great place to start and finish! I highly recommend it and look forward to some of their special events!

This is a cool lil vineyard, run by some very cool young ladies. We were here just recently and though it was not in bloom the area still has some very beautiful landscapes. They have lots of random farm animals around, with hilarious names who are very adorable. Now on to the wines. Tastings here are extremely reasonable $ 5 for six tastings, and $ 5 for a glass if you do not happen to have your own. They use chip flavors to help pair with your wines, so cheesey, bbq, spicey, etc to give you an idea of the types of flavors to cook when drinking. We also opted for a cheese plate while we were there which is $ 10, and they have several different local goat cheeses with a huge variety of flavors to choose from. I can’t remember which one we got, but they give you a huge serving with lots of crackers and fresh strawberries, and we all scarfed it down in no time. We all had a great experience and our server was very sweet and helpful, would definitely come back if we were in the area. The wine was good too ;) I am not a huge wine drinker, but a few of the girls I was with all bought bottles.

If you come wine tasting in Sonoita, always make Hops and Vines your final stop. They stay open a bit later than the other rooms and that staff always have something fun going on. This time was no exception– we came in and the room was pretty much full– this is never an issue though because the bar is set up in a horseshoe shape, so even when crowded you can still find a place and get served easily. The owners passed around Cards Against Humanity and played a few rowdy rounds with the crowd which was really fun. The Cheetos and crisps were being passed around which keeps tummies happy, and of course pair perfectly with the Hops and Vines wines. Great time and fun wines. Love the energy this tasting room has.

One of my favorite wineries in the area. Its a great first stop in sonoita as they have stemless wine glasses, which are more convenient for the tastings ahead. The winery is cozy, with a couch, and a full bar for the wine tastings. The outside grounds have lots of nice spots in the sun, and a variety of farm animals with increasingly clever names. The wines are tasty, especially the fluffer– and if you’re looking for a laugh make sure to read the label. And they pair all of their wines with assorted chips, cheese puffs, etc. It’s a must visit in the Sonoita area.

This was a great start to a really fun day! We were excited to try this winery thanks to the recommendation of a local we ran in to earlier and the suggestive bottle of the Fluffer. We walked in and were greeted by a very friendly woman who quickly served up the first round of wine. She explained each wine briefly, but supplied a page with more details for us to peruse on our own. The unique thing about this stop was the chips they offer with each round. For each wine, they’d paired a cheeto, cracker or chip to accentuate. Surprisingly, the suggestions were spot on! I’d never have thought to serve chips with wine(rather than wine or chocolate, etc) but it’s such an easy, popular option. A friend in our group appreciated that chips are accessible to anyone who might be serving wine. It looks like Hops and Vines has a lot of events throughout the year, that look like so much fun. I wish we could be there for their bacon day coming up! I just like the attitude and atmosphere in the shop. We did purchase a bottle of Fluffer, because the bottle is great and the wine is delicious. It’s sweet, but it’s a good dessert wine. So excited to uncork it! Note that your first tasting of the day will come with a wine glass, and subsequent tastings will be discounted if you bring along your first glass. It’s a good value.

Wine tasting party… who’s in? Renting a van with a designated driver? Oh hell yes! My friend organized this little soirée and we hit the road to beautiful Sonoita, ready to experience this new little winery. The winery itself is funky, fun and inviting but the women who run it… well, they’re funky, fun and inviting! Very gracious hosts who make their guests feel right at home. We had a few Groupons amongst us for the wine & cheese party and enjoyed several, delicious wines along with various goat cheeses and crackers. On our particular day we had Milagros, Summer, First Crush, Moxie(in place of Zinnerpeace which was sold out), Imbibe and The Fluffer. At the end, we all had a taste of the Sangria which was topped with The Fluffer. Delish! Every single one of us left with multiple bottle purchases to take home. The Fluffer was a huge hit with our group and we were crushed(Get it? Crushed? As in grapes?) to learn that Moxie was an unreleased, unlabeled wine and not available to purchase. So smoky and oaky, mmmm. **Note, we were at Arizona Hops & Vines in September 2012 and I’m sure you can get Moxie now. The décor is so much fun here and there is a wishing barrel where you write your wish down, drop it down the bung hole and ring a bell to which everyone is supposed to respond by lifting their glass and toasting your wish. There are chickens and a goat named Bob Marley outside as well as nice outdoor seating and a flagstone patio. Quirky little touches abound such as a wine bottle sun dial, skeleton yard art and a little sober shack for kids. Do yourself a favor and get out to Arizona Hops & Vines.

Still an amazing time. Went back for the third time with friends. The staff makes the entire visit. Well, the wine helps, but the staff is amazing. I was able to try their newest wine, Moxie, as they had run out of their Zin and decided to bring out the new offering. I loved it. Can’t wait to be able to purchase a bottle. In addition, the sangria was also a fantastic treat. That, combined with the wonderful weather, the outdoor patio and great friends made for a perfect Saturday.
