Family members have been using Broadway Cleaners since they were actually on Broadway many years ago. When it came time to dry clean some cotton/linen drapes I just brought them here without much thought. The drapes had only been used for 1 year and did not have any stains or odors, they were just a bit dusty and needed cleaning. The price for cleaning 3 panels was reasonable, and they looked clean. However when I rehung them I noticed the very distinct smell of body odor. They have been hanging for a week and I STILL smell body odor! It’s disgusting. The drapes had no smell when they went to Broadway Cleaners but they certainly came back with one. They were obviously dry cleaned along with some other person’s smelly clothes and the scent transferred. Gross! I did some online research and discovered this happens because the solvents used in dry cleaning do not eliminate body odors. The only way to correct the problem is the dry cleaner has to routinely filter and replace their solvents so that odors do not get recycled. I think the evidence is clear that Broadway Cleaners does not clean their equipment or replace their solvents, hence my horrible smelling drapes. Needless to say I will not be returning ever again.

I wish I would have thought to check Unilocal first, but I took my wedding dress here to get pressed on the recommendations of our wedding planner. I have no way of knowing if $ 93 is average for the service, so I nodded and smiled. Checks only. There were a variety of articles celebrating the dry cleaner’s 50th anniversary. I thought I’d left the dress in good hands, but apparently I was mistaken. I was extremely disappointed when the dress came back in blue plastic and the stuffing in the bodice was gone. The dress was caving it on itself, and the ubiquitous photographer shot of the hanging wedding gown was no longer an option. There must be a better option in the area.
