First time I’ve ever had a wine and looked it up on line to find out where to buy more. The Albarino 2013 Lodi was a gift and since I drank this by myself watching a fabulous movie, I need to buy more! Oh my. What a lovely white wine. So glad I had the first bottle to myself…

Unpretentious, friendly and informative. Plus any place where the owner pops in to say hello, earns points in my book!

This was our first stop on our first time wine tasting. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to kick off our day. Maggie was informative and friendly. We lucked out by being the first visitors of the day and the only ones there. Yes, it’s a small tasting room, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in personality. We went home with their 07 Zin and their port, and a smile on our face as we headed to or next stop.

Great winery that is owned and operated by David. The wines were awesome and the tastings were varied and displayed super options for different occasions. Information about the wine making was super interesting. Prices for the wines are a great value and case prices were available as well as easy shipping. Well worth a stop and very different from the large operations.

This winery was adorable! Some girlfriends and I did a day trip to Sonoma and loved this place! The staff was super friendly. Also, did I mention wine?

Had reservations for 10 people at 3:30 and showed up 10 minutes late. The gate was shut and when we called the woman was extremely rude and argued with us that our appointment was at 3, which it definitely wasn’t as we confirmed earlier in the week. They closed early for a private event and wouldn’t let us in, without any kind of notice. The way she spoke with us was so rude, will never go again.

Jerks. Totally rude jerks. We had a reservation. We showed up and the gate was closed. So, we called and some incredibly rude woman told us that they decided to accept a different party.

2nd visit. Great spot for some casual wine tasting. Staff were friendly and welcoming, wines were great and surprisingly affordable for the Sonoma /Napa area. Took a case home. The micro-brewery across the street is also a welcoming spot for a picnic lunch before /afterwards.

This is a great place to start wine tasting for the day. Reasonable tasting price for quite a few wines. The bummer is I’m not a big fan of most of them. Every once in a while they have a wine I just love, but for the most part I wouldn’t buy any of the bottles to take home. I also don’t understand the ‘wine preserver’ sprays they use. There is no way any of the bottles would go bad in a day, and they might taste better if they let them breathe a little more.. .

This place offers what I would describe as good«weekday wine.» One that you don’t feel guilty about opening given the price point, but you’re also not drinking complete crap you can find at a Safeway/Trader Joe’s. The wine here is pretty good, but not fantastic. That being said — when we stopped in here with our friends(who had wanted to stop there — they had tried the Flying Wizzbangers and wanted to stop in to try their other offerings) — we ended up walking out with an entire case! They were running an offer on their Viognier — something like $ 99/case. So with the holiday season coming up — we figured«why not.» Would be a great wine to serve in a large group setting(particularly when you have friends/family over who don’t know much more about wine other than«red» or «white»). I personally liked the Viognier and the Albarino the best. Typically I like reds — but their reds didn’t pack the punch/smoothness I look for in my reds. While I won’t be back to visit — I’m still happy with my purchase of Viognier(and hope I’m still happy with it once we go to open a bottle this holiday season! :)).

This is a lovely winery, small, quaint and focused on the wines. I loved several of their wines — both white and red. Very smooth, yet still flavorful. Definitely buy a case — best deal on nice quality wines around.

Homewood is awesome. Very very small, but they have great tasting vintages and the owner is a really chill guy. Everyone is very knowledgeable and welcoming. Worth a quick stop. Definitely some of the best whites I’ve had, and I’m not a fan of whites.

Loved Homewood! Casual, not stuffy, with great wines at non insulting prices. Staff was welcoming and knowledgable. Wine tasting was $ 5 for 6 tastes with a credit toward any bottle purchased. Delicious port:) How can you not love a winery that makes a Flying Wizzbanger?

Absolutely amazing winery. We came here on a bachelorette and this was our last stop on the Taste of San Francisco wine tour. The people were amazing the wine was fantastic. They really take their time with you and unlike many of the other wineries in the tour, they will let you have an extra taste of a wine that you love!

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon; our first winery stop and it was a great one to start with. Homewood is a small winery(in terms of landmass at this location) and has a very intimate feel. The tasting room is very small, basically just a countertop fit for about four people. The staff greeted us when we walked in and told us the tasting is $ 5 for 6 pours and if we buy a bottle, the $ 5 goes towards that. There was one other couple there and two staff members, so we each had a personalized, one-on-one experience. The gentleman pouring our wine was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wines were very good; a few of the reds were blends. We ended up buying 6 bottles, which gave us 10% off; if you buy a case, they give 25% off. Their wines are very reasonably priced, around $ 22/bottle on average. There is not much to the grounds since the company gets most of their grapes from other vineyards. They do have a small plot of land growing pinot noir grapes, so at least customers get the general idea. They have a small picnic area too.

Stopped in for a tasting. Nice selection of wines, $ 10 tasting PP but was waived if you ordered a bottle. Nice tasting room and outdoor area, and the service was first class. I broke my eyeglasses and the lady pouring behind the counter fixed them with a waiter’s key! I highly recommend the 2012 Zinfandel Port dessert wine. Positively delicious.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Homewood. They had a wide variety of whites, reds, and dessert wines. The tasting was cheap and we were able to choose whatever wines we wanted. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. This was the first winery we visited on our trip, and the rest of the weekend we found ourselves saying, «but it’s not as good as Homewood.» The only downside is that their tasting room is very small. We had 5 people in our group and it would have been hard to fit another. Luckily it was empty when we arrived, but we went on a Saturday around noon so I doubt they ever get too packed. They also have a nice outdoor seating area if you’re not looking for rapid-fire tastings. Would definitely this winery again!

Homewood charges $ 5 for their standard tasting and $ 10 for their reserves, both great deals, if you ask me. We were going to start with the $ 5 tasting and work our way to the reserves, but our pourer ended up having us try some wines on the reserve list as well and only charged us $ 5. I didn’t think the wines were very memorable, so we didn’t buy any, although I wanted to because service was so good. Our pourer was a friendly and talkative chap who seems to have a lot to say about Sonoma. He gave us information on all the appellations in the Napa/Sonoma area. You learn something new every day. If you’re looking for a cheap tasting and excellent service, you would probably enjoy Homewood Winery.

I love this little spot. The tasting room is pleasant and the people who work there make tasting fun! The wines are delightful and I always manage to buy too much when I go there. It works because it’s such a small winery so when you take it to a friend’s house, you get to introduce everyone to something special. I’ll definitely be back to buy more.

After reading about this winery being a local one man show, my husband and I had been dying for weeks to come support and check out this winery. We liked it — we just didn’t feel more than that. Tasting was $ 5 pp(older websites claim the tastings free), which is an ok deal. We just didn’t love any of the wines — we thought they were good, but nothing special. We liked the port, not too syrupy like most ports, and they add white chocolate with it, which is a great combination. Great service. Just nothing felt special to us about this winery. Sorry, I feel bad!
