I found Katy on the psychology today website. I was very comfortable with her from our first phone conversation. She is flexible with her scheduling and always promptly follows up with me when needed. She has nurtured our relationship in a kind, non-judgemental, compassionate and loving way. The flow of our sessions is wonderful. She has given me tools to lean on in times of uncertainty. I appreciate that she thinks about me and our work when we are not in session. I look forward to continuing our work together.

Having gone to several different therapists and support groups throughout my life, I understand how difficult it can be to find someone who really clicks. Since my first conversation I had with Katy on the phone, she was attentive, kind, supportive, and sincere towards me. After meeting a couple of times I realized she was a great match for me and decided to continue going to her for therapy. Some of the things I really appreciate about her is that she does not dictate the session on what SHE thinks you need to work on but rather goes from what you naturally bring up. She is also very intuitive which I find very helpful in a sense of her tuning into what you need as a client and where the work really needs to be done. She is constantly checking in with whether what she responds with feels right to me which is extremely helpful with keeping clear communication. She has had her own share of experiences and it really comes to be helpful when normalizing things that would otherwise make me feel very alone and isolated. One of her main objectives is helping to give tools to you in order to help you«survive» in the real world when things feel like they could be falling apart. As a young woman I am learning a lot about the importance of stating my needs and wishes to come out of the stuck pattern of our mother’s and our mother’s mother’s old habits in relationships both in and outside of the home. Katy has helped me overcome a lot within myself and really begin to fire that communication within myself that I have been hiding from for so long. Katy is and excellent therapist. Everyone has their own needs and connections with other people, but I highly recommend even having a phone conversation with her if you are currently looking for a therapist. She is very flexible in a sense of doing what works best for her clients, rather than having her way set in stone. Her warmth and welcoming attitude couldn’t scare anyone away. Thank you, Katy!

Katy Byrne, Psychotherapist, has been a friend, colleague and hairball partner(I’ll explain in a minute!) for over 15 years. We met, fatefully, as we both value communication so highly that other friends really wanted to connect us. Katy is passionate about communication, conversation, conflict resolution, connection, relationships, eating addiction recovery and facilitating others towards more understanding and resolution. She has spent her life writing, speaking, talking and listening — hosting a radio show and writing a book called Hairball Diaries. The book is authentic, fun and supportive of our humanness. It’s all about getting your truth out and being heard fully. You will laugh and cry out loud reading it. It’s that good. She cares about making the world a better place through better communication and working in team with others. It is her contention that conversation can change the world and she has demonstrated that passion in her work in organizations, in her therapy practice, in her work with animal protection and in everything she does.
