I always feel bad when long time family-owned businesses close down, and it seems like this place is probably getting a bum rap from the ABC. That said, I’m surprised they didn’t shut down earlier given how many times I’ve gone there only to see a «back in five minutes» sign on the door.

A run-of-the-mill inner city corner liquor store offering a typically scant stock of energy beverages, saran-wrapped refrigerated sandwiches, and random sundries. Only it’s not on the corner and this is no city — you’re in the touristy-but-tasteful historic downtown square of one of the most incredible food and wine regions of the world. The tasting rooms and the rest of town slam shut at 6PM, and there’s a Whole Foods two blocks away, so there’s a narrow window of reasons to come here. Probably you forgot to pack something, you and your crew ran out of booze in the limo, or bless you, there is something going wrong with your life. There was one decent bottle of wine — Garry Farrel Pinot for $ 42, $ 4 more than BevMo. Everything else is a value wine, most from out of the area. Décor is a little run down and ungenerous. Service is friendly. Liquor store clerks, they’re always friendly.
