Rachel Simpson Photography

Rachel was our wedding photographer for our wedding in October 2014 and we had a wonderful experience with her. We chose Rachel based on her down to earth attitude, which is apparent as soon as you meet her, her readiness and enthusiasm for doing a great job, and her keen eye for capturing special moments. You can tell that Rachel is passionate about her work, and this makes it easy to entrust her to document some of the most special days of one’s life.
Rachel photographed both our engagement and wedding for us. At our engagement session at Land’s End, SF, Rachel led us to every terrain and backdrop in the vicinity in order to get a nice array of photos, and some of the results were stunning. She also made my husband who hates taking pictures feel at ease in front of the camera, which in itself is a win.
On our wedding day, Rachel was great at being a presence there from beginning to end, yet unobtrusive at the same time. She took some gorgeous shots of us pre-​ceremony and managed to corral all family members for post-​ceremony photos, but also gave us some time to ourselves during the cocktail hour to enjoy our newlyweddedness. The wedding photos (even those tricky all-​family-​members ones) turned out great, and because we opted to purchase engagement and wedding frames as well as a luxe photo album, all overseen to the last detail by Rachel, we now have tangible, beautiful records of our wedding.
Probably the qualities I appreciated most about Rachel in working with her well into 2015 were her dedication to producing excellent photos (frames, wedding album) for us, her patience in communicating with me over edits, including swapping this picture for that — i.e., dealing with a particularly «particular» bride!, and her going the extra mile to make sure that we were happy with everything in the end. We most definitely are.
We would highly recommend Rachel for engagement and wedding photography. She is an outstanding person to work with and we know she’s just going to get better as she grows.

My husband and I were referred to Rachel by our sister-​in-​law. After having a phone conversation with Rachel, we decided to use her for our June 2014 wedding in Livermore. She was easy to talk to, clear on her expectations and her prices were very reasonable. I also looked at her profile online and liked what I saw.
We met up with Rachel to take engagement photos. She let us do our thing and the session went smoothly. After interacting with her for a few hours, I was very happy we hired her for our wedding. Her personality and attitude seemed like a great fit for my husband and I.
At our wedding, Rachel did an amazing job. Of course she took pictures of the «required’ photos we wanted, but she also captured so many other moments that are great to look back on. While we knew Rachel was always near us, she was never intrusive or asked too much – which we really appreciated.
I would highly recommend Rachel for any event as she is easy going, hard working and wants to accommodate you on your day. I look forward to using Rachel for other events in our lives!
