My daughter started classes at SCD when she was 3 ½. Since then she has danced there year-​round and is now (on pointe) age 13 ½! Cannot say enough about: the quality of dance instruction; the high quality performance opportunities; and how much is gained by this extracurricular activity on so many levels — teamwork, social/​emotional skill building, confidence, and positive movement for the body. It has been a huge part of our life and given so much to my daughter’s life.
P. S. And Patty happens to be SO good, that she turns out professional dancers, too!

My shy little daughter has blossomed through dancing. The classes are age appropriate in terms of direction and fun. When she puts on her dance uniform, she is both excited and serious. What a joy to watch.

Patty is truly a dedicated artist and teacher. She is a gift to the dancers of Sonoma County!

Patty O’Reilly is one of the best ballet teachers in the Bay Area. I don’t think the North Bay has a clue what a gem she is. So many of her students have excellent technique and an understanding of how their bodies work. Is it possible that there are SO MANY talented budding ballerinas in such a sparsely populated area of California, or could it be the consistently excellent training creating them? I’ve enjoyed seeing her students perform over the years and she has trained several students who have gone on to professional careers. I’m a former professional dancer and a dance teacher myself. I wish I had her as a teacher when I was growing up, I’m sure I would have had less injuries and a longer career.
