I Think Dr. Chagnon is the best! I am giving her 5 stars. She is very knowledgable and kind. She understood exactly what was going on with my medical issues. The other reviews on here for her care are just as I too feel. Lisa too had been very efficient and helpful. I did have the unfortunate incidence of seeing another side of Lisa though. I knew on my first appointment that she was exacting in her speech and conduct with me, even a little curt. Almost military style holding me at attention and commanding me with directions with my paperwork. I too have worked in the medical field and understand that getting the paperwork correct is very important so I did not take it personally. However today I had to pass on a message from the referring physician and also had a question to clarify my medication. Lisa became upset, defensive and made it a point to speak to me in a disrespectful, rude and demeaning manner telling me I needed to trust Dr. Chagnon! I never said I didn’t. I just needed clarification. When I responded to point out that I did not agree with what Lisa was saying she cut me off, raised her voice saying she had spent enough time with me and hung up on me! I had had the phone on speaker at the time and the other person in my house was jaw drop shocked and said that Lisa was«down right MEAN.» It felt like I was on an episode of Seinfeld with the Soup Nazi. I thought an office managers job was to manage the office and show professionalism. A doctor may be great but if they support an office staff to EVENONCE treat a patient rudely, demeaning, disrespectful and talk down to them then it is up to the doctor not to turn a blind eye and handle the situation. Even if there is one Unilocal review about Lisa’s behavior toward a patient this doesn’t make it o.k. Thus the 1 star for Lisa. Most people write reviews for the doctor because that is what is really important. And that is why most people read reviews on their doctor. I did. There were several other sights that gave the same response to Lisa’s behavior I am writing about today. But I did not let that sway me and have gone to Dr. Chagnon with an open mind. I am very grateful for her care. However, if there are a few reviews here about Lisa and some say she is efficient how many people does it take to write a negative review for steps to be taken to correct her behavior? What gives her the right to be in the hands of those that are ill and seeking help? I do not go to Sonoma Pain Management for pain or narcotics. But I do feel sorry for those that may be in that state to have to deal with Lisa when she is in one of these moods. I would love nothing more than to continue my care under Dr. Chagnon. But I refuse to be treated badly by someone that is scheduling my appointments and billing out for my care. I too was an office manager for a busy doctors office of a full staff of doctors. I know what it entails. And this is just bad business, bad attitude and bad behavior.

Dr. Aimee Chagnon has been my son’s neurologist for years and we could not ask for a kinder, more competent doctor. She is truly amazing. When we first went I was very worried about my son. Never had anybody worked so efficiently to get the insurance approvals and scheduling to get my son taken care of ASAP as LISA, Dr. Chagnon’s office manager. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. For years, anytime he has a problem, both Lisa and Dr. Aimee have gone beyond any expectations I could have. Recently I was diagnosed with a difficult ailment, and my dr. wanted to send me to some other neurologist. NOWAY ! I went to Dr. Aimee and Lisa. Once again Lisa got everything approved and scheduled faster then I could imagine, all while answering my daily phone calls with kindness and the information I needed. They are both kind and amazingly efficient and once again, I thank them from the bottom of my heart. I am scared about what I’m dealing with but I feel safe in their hands. For the review saying negative things about Lisa, you must need to look in the mirror, this woman is extraordinarily efficient, kind and competent !

I can only give this office a 1 star, solely because Dr. Amy Chagnon is great. She is smart and takes the time to get to know you. However her office manager, Lisa, is the WORST!!! I’ve never received such disrespectful service and attitude from someone and I used to work at a collection agency. Lisa decides on her own(even though she’s not the doctor, nor exactly knows what the patients suffer from) who see’s the doctor. If your health insurance is difficult, she will turn you away because she’s afraid to work hard. I was told I could no longer be a patient by Lisa because I was unable to make it to an appointment due to me not having a license, due to my medical condition, and Lisa charged me the missed appointment fee of $ 150 and told me I couldn’t be a patient anymore! Who does that?! Considering this is a doctors office who treats people with unknown problems, the manager makes it unbearable. I now drive 45 minutes to another doctor, who, along with her staff, make everything easy, and worth it. I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDTHISOFFICEDUETOLISA!!!

I have seen Aimee several times and all of my ailments that seemed unrelated are now perfectly clear. I have read the other reviews and feel just as fortunate to see her as they do. She is such a wonderful woman, I secretly want to be her in my next life. :)

Dr. Chagnon is the kind of doctor you dream of having… brilliant, skilled, supportive, warm, kind, caring, and attentive in her practice; outside of her practice she is both a humanitarian who has devoted her time to relief efforts in Haiti and an animal activist who supports rescue foundations. She truly represents«the best and the brightest.» Her office manager, Lisa, is professional and supportive, adding to the overall excellence. If you are in need of the best neurologist in the Bay Area, this is the care you want to seek out.

Sonoma Pain Management is the neurology, pain management, and palliative care office of Dr. Chagnon. Dr. Chagnon is a Harvard graduate, kind, and generous doctor that loves her work but loves helping others even more. She has volunteered on several occasions to aid in the relief efforts in Haiti. She’s a great doctor that listens well before diagnosing people’s pain and/or illnesses. The office manager, Lisa, is also great! I highly recommend her for anybody is in search of a neurologist.
