I love Zipper! Just a great place to find a special gift for someone or yourself!

There are a few items of interest here, but the owner’s rude and condescending attitude makes this shop a «miss» for me. My friend and I both made conscious decisions NOT to buy. The owner seems to regard the shop items more as personal belongings in his home than as merchandise to be sold and customers more as interlopers than as clients. We we will definitely not be back.

Zipper is an eclectic place. If you want pop-up versions of «Alice in Wonderland» and«The Wizard of Oz», this is the place(these versions even have sound effects, like the tornado&a laughing Wizard), or beautiful books about horses and the history of Christian sacred art… and if you want 3D glasses to gaze upon«The Big Book of Breasts», this is the destination. It’s very artsy and pricey. Since this is Sonoma, it’s eclectic.

Very snooty. Going to buy sometime and told no pictures. This was for fun and was told Nooo pictures. wtf, we were just smiling under their store sign. I wouldn’t recommend this empty snooty place to anyone, and very overpriced.

Great store and fun selection of gifts and goodies. Owner was totally rude. I was looking at these great hats, which I was going to buy two. I noticed the tags were cut in half so you couldn’t read the brand. Note all of the other hats had the brands attached; but these particular hats had the tag cut in half. So I asked the man working and he told me that he doesn’t remember. I then asked if he could look it up because I really liked the brand. He harshly replied that he doesn’t give out his resources. Ahhh ok… Too bad for the brand. He was so rude. First lying to me… Horrible customer service. I put the hats back and left. I am a small business owner and I always share the«wealth» with my customers. I will never return.

This place is great! If want something unique at a reasonable price this is the place to go. I live in Sonoma and when I get stumped on what to buy a person that is hard to buy for, this is the place. I always find something perfect. Unfortunately, I also find something that I can’t live without. The people that own it are also wonderful. If you can’t find what you want they will make suggestions when asked and will also order whatever if it is not in the store. Truly exceptional service.

This store is so cool! This is one of the best curated stores I have seen. It is not that expensive, considering that everything is so unique. They also offer you tasty mint tea, and they offer complimentary gift wrapping, which is also über-cool. Loved a hat so much, I could not take it off once it was on my head, and it never left. It will definitely be a required stop next time I am in Sonoma.

Do you LOVE the idea of an Anthropologie housewares meets Z Gallerie in the wine country? You know, fancy candles, kitchy children’s books, fine jewelry, and more? If so, then Zipper is the place for you. After an afternoon of wine tasting, it’s easy to get caught up in this refreshingly modern shop located directly across the way from Gloria Ferrer. I basically wanted 5 of everything in this shop, and the owner was super personable. Me likey.

Super fun, high end gift and homeware store. Found and bought some cool kid’s items, and there are a ton of household design elements that you won’t find elsewhere. Definitely worth a stop!

This was a real fun store with a very eclectic feel to it. Had some very unusual ideas. Kinda like local artist work or something. I was able to pick something up there for a very reasonable price. It was a fun store with nice ladies working there.

WE were dorking around trying to find stuff to do when we have to be in Sonoma for my brother’s wedding. On the way out of town, we stopped at a place called Cornerstone and found the coolest shop called Zipper. I found my brother the perfect send off for his wedding – The Big Book of Breasts(OK, it’s kind of a joke), but they did have a beautiful bowl that is the real gift. Plus some really great jewelry.

For a long time, Zipper in LA was a go-to destination to find all the chic little design items you saw on product pages in magazines– pre-net, you could only find those desirables in stores like these. Zipper lost their LA lease(and I understand, really got hurt by the writers strike) and closed up shop. Zipper North is a bit chic-er than Zipper LA was, though smaller. There are still plenty of items you pick up, turn over, sniff, examine– in the same vein from pricey to affordable. Picked up a ‘that’s perfect for so and so’ gift, pondered buying an on sale $ 150 home item for myself(and quickly put it down). but it’s still absolutely worthy of spending time inside and finding out what’s clever now

Definitely on the pricey side, but Zipper had some really cute stuff. I was especially a fan of the hip kiddie toys!

Interesting… but not up to the hype. Yes, some things were funny, but the joke was on you at those prices.

Design-oriented books, MOMA-worthy housewares, jewelry and more. A breath of fresh air in wine-country shopping.
