Great experience. This was my first track day and I loved it. Get the suspension tune up from Jason while you’re there — made a big difference in the handling. Thanks to Kathy and Rob for the one-on-one training, Marty and all the others. If you’re undecided, just go. Glad I did.

If you’re a nail-that-sticks-up kind of idiot, you’re going to get pounded down. Zero tolerance for moronic behavior or stupidity, making it one of the safest and well-oiled organizations I’ve ever had the pleasure to run with.

This was my first time to the Zoom Zoom Track Day. We arrived at Infineon Raceway at 7am. There were only a few people there that early. We were still waiting for my boyfriends Yamaha R6 that was on the Rockridge Two Wheels truck along side another Yamaha and 2 Aprila bikes. We took a walk around the grounds and ended up on the track just at the sun was still rising. When the rest of the boys and the bikes arrived we found a nice spot to unload and set up. They needed to go through inspection and orientation. As the guys got suited up in there racing suits I started to get excited to watch them all. The riders all gather and they let 4 bikes go at a time until they are all out. There are 20 minute sessions every hour. 3 before lunch and 4 after lunch. As a spectator it is so much fun. It was a long day, 7am-5:30pm but the day seemed to fly by! I sat in the stands and watched at the checkered finishline. In the afternoon I went to the green bridge and watched my boyfriend zoom by into the first few turns, it was so cool to watch! I cant wait for the next track day!!! Well that was my review as a spectator. Here is my boyfriends review as a rider: «For any motorcycle rider, a track day is a unparalleled experience. Its really the only way to truly use your bikes full capabilities without jeopardizing life and license. Zoom Zooms staff creates a safe and exhilarating environment that allows you to fully enjoy yourself. They provide as much(or as little) help and insight as you feel you need as well as keeping you safe from reckless and inexperienced riders. They keep an eye out for hazardous riders and give them the boot if necessary. I would ride with these guys again. See you next season Zoom Zoom.»

You ever fancied taking your motorcycle to the racetrack and learning how to race a bike? Well if you do the guys at Zoom Zoom are real pros, and will show you the ropes. They are not strictly based at Infineon raceway(the address above) but that was where I experienced my first track day with them and it’s super convenient for SF, just 30 minutes out of the city. Basically you book online for a particular date(and they do sell out), take your bike to the track, either on a trailer or you can ride it up there if you’re brave. Take off your wing mirrors, duct tape your balance weights on your wheels, tape up your brake light and indicators and that’s it. You get your bike inspected, get put in your group(C for people starting out, B for experience track riders, and A for insane racers). C group gets classroom time to learn about flag signals, track etiquette, safety, and on to technique. And then you go out on the track for 20 to 25 minute sessions around the track. No cars, no pedestrians, just raceway and turns :-) Infinion is a great track to learn on, it’s got lots of turns, and I only just got it into 4th gear for a few seconds at a time. Seriously, if you have thought about doing this, just do it, it is a life changing experience if you like riding a bike. As for risks, I felt safer on the track than I usually do riding route 35 or up to tomales bay. Zoom Zoom have a great metric and try to keep the crashes to around 6%, which is very low. I’ve been to a track day at willow springs where I think about 20% of people wrecked over two days. What you will need: A serviceable motorcycle with good tires Replace your coolant with Water wetter Full leathers, gloves and bike boots(synthetic works as well as long as it’s proper bike protection) Full face helmet(no flip up helmets) Back protector They provide breakfast and free bottled water all day, and there is a café to buy lunch(cheese burgers aren’t bad)
