Great Breakfast with big portions and the feeling of homemade food. Not always the quickest service but they are all very friendly and it takes a while to eat the big portions. This is somewhere I take people to that are visiting from out of town with an appetite. I have only tried them for lunch once and I wish I would have just ordered breakfast. Can’t speak to whether that is consistent however.

I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. This place has really yummy food. The portion sizes are really big, and the servers are all really great. I highly recommend.

I’m giving 4 instead of 5 because frankly the pictures on the wall were a little off putting. We say under naked children holding cowboy hats of their«no-no» parts. Aside from that. The food was really good fresh locally grown and the staff was nice. Wish they had better hours though.

Great breakfast, tasty, clean, fast and friendly service. 2 thumbs up! They catered a wedding we attended yesterday and did a great job with it as well.

Delicious Corned Beef Hash! Their home style potatoes are pretty good as well. Ordered the small stack pancakes for the kiddos and they couldn’t even finish them, they were so big! All in all, great place, great people!

Wow great breakfast! We ordered country breakfasts with sausage and one with a gigantic pork chop. The meat is amazing. So much better than anything down in the OC where we’re from. We also ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich and the corned beef hash, which were both excellent as well. Service was equally superb.

Ok, gave it a try for breakfast. Heard the sausage was great. Heard wrong. Yes great big patty. We got there at 10:30 and my sausage had obviously been cooked hours before, my husband had sausage and his was not as crispy as mine but still dry and over done. What is with over cooking the meat? There are a lot better places in town for breakfast. Won’t be going back.

Great place for lunch, very friendly waitresses, and consistently good food! I really like that they buy their turkey from the local turkey farm. I was upset to learn that they were not open for lunch during the mid-week… because there are not many good sit-down places to eat lunch in Sonora…

The food was amazing! I had the pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon. There is the regular 3 stack or the junior stack of 2 pancakes. I did the junior since I was getting sides. I’m glad I did! They came out and were massive! Light and fluffy and just yummy. The bacon was crisp and juicy. The eggs were good too. My husband had the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns and eggs. He said it was all delicious. He really liked the gravy. According to their website, the restaurant is in the family’s old house. They have pictures of the family through the years. It was a nice environment. They also sell homemade dinners and desserts. We didn’t buy anything, but will next time. I highly recommend!

I had one of the worst sandwiches here. I ordered the meatball sandwich and it was sooo dry. I think it’s just what I ordered though. I had a bite of other people’s food and it tasted fine. I tried asking them for more sauce but it didn’t cut it. The meatball sandwich could not be saved with extra marinara sauce. I do agree, the fries are amazing. I would come back and get something other than the meatball sandwich with their side of fries. They also had a lot of homemade bake goods that looked pretty tasty.

Came here for a team dinner and heard about the good steaks. They were kind of busy so took a while to get around to us. Overall ambiance is ok, food average, and service was mediocre. Extremely nice people but a few things went sour… 1) white flecks floating my wine. Perks only $ 4 for a glass of house wine. It was pretty good too! 2) Food took forever, also forgot a few side salads. Then proceeded to be astonished that no one brought it out. 3) Had to request waters refills, extra plates, and grab our own utensils. Obviously just didnt have their act together Sorry probably won’t come back!

I love the Homeplace. Workers are really friendly(like family friendly). Food is really good & tastes crisp/fresh. Service sometimes might take a little bit over average when you wait for your food… but really it’s not that bad. Highly recommend!!!

To all of you who gave this place four or five stars for breakfast… REALLY? I was looking forward to an awesome experience because of your reviews! Frozen hash browns and canned sauces? Not even fresh cream for the coffee? I had the eggs Benedict and I will say that my poached eggs we’re cooked to perfection but the praise ends there. Poor presentation, over sauced(the hollandaise was gelatinous — pretty sure it was from a can, too) and just overall mediocre at best. My husband had the California omelette. Eggs were over cooked, filling was runny, and cheese on top not even melted. The fruit was fresh but poorly presented — just dumped into a bowl. This place is okay if you’re a fan of places like Denny’s. Not horrible but certainly not great. Large portions. Friendly staff. Won’t be back.

I really wish I could give ½ star ratings — they deserve a 4 ½ star rating(so I’ll round up and give them a 5). We’ve been back twice, and both times we had great service(even though they were at peak times) each time. I’ll agree with some friends — lunch is better than breakfast. Not to knock breakfast, it’s your typical standard menu, omlettes, eggs, pancakes, french toast and their skillets — which my husband loved. Lunch starts at 10:30, with burgers, sandwiches and salads — which are HUGE. Burgers were good and tasty, and next time I’ll branch out and get their sloppy joe sandwich. I’ll agree with a previous Unilocaler — it can get loud in the dining area with the hardwood floors, so be advised at that… but my biggest suggestion of all — get some of Michelle’s cookies. OMG, they’re to die for. Soft, gooey, chocolatey… just divine.
