Worst service. Waited 20 minutes and didn’t even come ask for drink. When we first went in there were only 5 chairs and we needed 1 more. After asking 3 times we finally got one. We had to get the menu ourselves. The majority of tables didn’t have any food and one couple waited more than 15 minutes to pay.

We stopped by here after visiting the Yosemite. This was the only place open during Christmas Day and we came out feeling disgusted. Both of the dishes were fried and smothered in some kind of sauce. The sauce was too sweet for my taste although we ordered«spicy braised fish» and«spicy garlic chicken». I’m sorry but both the dishes tasted like orange chicken. It was just disgusting. Oh yea the war wonton soup and mixed vegetable bundle was okay. Service was okay, ordered hot tea which never made it to our table.

NOT A HONESTRESTAURANTWE in town to fight fires and was very hungry on a Friday night. I went and asked for spicy garlic Chicken and mongolian beef with noodles and white rice to go. The White Rice is not included in meal which I never experience, got my food came to my hotel HUNGRY open my food and had my Mongolian beef with no noodles instead with lettuce and raw broccoli, then I open up my garlic spicy chicken and I noticed it was orange chicken, so I put all my clothes on walk over to the restaurant and explain to them that they gave me the wrong order so the lady in the front counter yold me that that was garlic spicy chicken, ITWASORANGECHICKENNOSPICYNOGARLICATALL.

The food and service here are excellence. I have a weird feeling about the food has a lot of MSG in it but I can’t say for sure. The pot stickers were the best I’ve ever had. The soup was really gooood! I also like the chow mein and rice but got a little bit of an aftertaste. I’m not sure if it’s just me but sometimes if I eat too much msg that happens

The food was very good, the price was definitely right, the service was quick. I read the reviews and I felt some were unfounded. We come to Sonora occasionally and we will definitely come back here. Great value for the money and, again, no disappointments with the food.

Tourists Don’t Come To This Place!!! horrible place, terrible food with terrible service. Dishonest business owners. They will«recommend» to you the food they are trying to get rid of once they notice you are tourists, and then charge you a fortune as the food is «special» as not in the menu. We ordered a fish they recommended, trusted them, then flund out not just the fish is not fresh at all, but was hit with a price of $ 60 for that dead fish stored in the refrigerator for at lease a month. The worst experience I ever had. They should go out of business!!!

We had dinner there last night. Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. But, beware. Do not order anything from the specials board without asking the price. We ordered a whole fish with sweet and sour sauce. When the bill came it was $ 50 just for the fish. I about choked! $ 50 for one plate in a chinese restaurant. I marked it down one star just for that.

Although the food was not that great the waiters were pleasant. Ordered the chicken and shrimp chow mein, pork fried rice, kun pao beef, and spicy garlic chicken. The kun pao beef was disgusting the beef tasted bad vegetables in it were ok. The rest of the food was ok out of everything we ordered the fried rice was the most enjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant but again the servers are pleasant and one of the few restaurants that stay open later than the other ones around there besides Benzer.

Terrible food and service. Our food came out in intervals rather than all at once. The chow mein was so greasy I couldn’t keep it on my fork. Had a hard time communicating with the server as well. Oh and the ck was written in their language so I had no idea what we were being charged for.

This is the place I go for Chinese food when I’m home visiting family. The service is good if you go in and eat, but the take out is very quick and easy too. The servings are large and you can get many combination plates as well. It is right in downtown and has a parking lot at the back, but if that is full, parking can be a bit rough. Overall, a good place to stop and grab a quick bite to eat.

Visited recently when we were in the area. I had seen it several weeks earlier and noticed the dim sum sign out front, but we were unable to visit that trip. Being a sucker for a good dumpling, I was determined to try it this time up. There were 7 of us, so we got a table with a lazy susan, perfect for dim sum. It was 8PM, so we had to ask to be sure it was still available. The waitress brought over a small menu, kinda like Dim Sum’s greatest hits. The décor is funny. Has deer heads on the wall and branding irons have been used to decorate the wood paneling. It fits for Sonora, but made me wonder what this place was before a Chinese restaurant? Weird pagoda decorated with soda cans surrounds the bar. Strange, but in a good way. It’s definitely funky. OK, the food. Ordered Char Siu Bao, Har gow, Shiu Mai, and at the waitresses suggested Xiao long bao. She said that was her favorite, but it wasn’t on the menu. Since we had a couple that had never tried Dim Sum, we also got fried rice, chow mein and almond chicken. Oh, and French fries for my 4 year old.(sheesh…) Wow! Surprisingly good food. Everything was fresh and tasty. The dim sum was made to order so took a little while, but the quality was excellent. The chef visited the table after the 3rd round of reorder to just say hi, that was a nice touch. If I had to find something I didn’t like, the Xiao long bao skins were a little thin, so broke and let the soup our almost every time. Out of 12 dumplings maybe one or two made it intact. They were still very tasty little beasties, but I was bummed about the soup coming out. I’ll be back, and would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. OK so it’s not SF, but pretty damn close.

It’s Chinese food. Enough said. It’s good food, served very quickly but nothing really stands out. Prices are reasonable compared to Bay Area joints. Staff is friendly and place is clean. I like it. I have enjoyed every meal here.

Great food and service. I highly recommend this place for a casual relaxed lunch or dinner and best Chinese food in the Sonora area. The setting of this restaurant is different then a «usual» place, guess you could say eclectic, the building used to be an old bar among other things in the town so is has old cattle marks with local family names on the wood siding, along with a giant buffalo and deer head that a suppose came with the building… because I can’t see the sweet Cantonese family that owns it being big game hunters…

This was our second trip to Yosemite and this time stayed in Sonora, CA. We went to Hong Kong Garden Restaurant for dinner. The menu and prices were what I would expect from any Chinese restaurant. It was around 9:00PM when we sat on our table and ordered. There was nobody else at the restaurant at that time. A Hispanic family with six members including children came in and ordered to go. I knew them because they were also staying at the same hotel as ours’ and we talked earlier that day. They started ordering their food. I had no intention of hearing their conversations but they were fairly loud and I could hear almost everything. They paid right after placing the order. They were sitting next to our table and started chatting with us. Our food was served at this time. We started eating. The food was bland, nothing special. The server brought in the to-go boxes for the Hispanic family but they seem to have changed their mind and said they wanted to eat inside the restaurant. The server seemed agitated but brought in plates and they start eating their dinner. As we were almost finished with our food, I see a Chinese guy who may be the owner of the restaurant going to the Hispanic family’s table and saying«You need to pay tips for six people». I guess as they paid their bill already, the Chinese guy wanted to force them to pay tips. The Hispanic guy didn’t like this and said«You cannot demand that I pay tips. I would have paid it anyway but since you demanded it, I am not going to pay a dime now». The Chinese guy started yelling at the Hispanic guy. It got very uncomfortable. I just paid our bill in cash and left. As we were leaving, the Chinese guy kept yelling in Chinese. They clearly don’t have any clue how to treat their customers. I hope this place goes out of business pretty fast. I will not recommend anyone going to this horrible restaurant where the owner/manager picks up fights with customers for tips. Stay away from this place.
