I’ve been spending a week a month in Sonora and was pleased to find this place. The staff was very friendly, wifi was good, and the food was great! I look forward to my next visit! This isn’t your San Fran or big city coffee shop, but fits Sonora perfectly. The one downfall is their funky hours.

Tried Sonora Joe’s out once. I went for a dirty chai since I knew they were using a sweet chai. My standard drink is an americano. In the end I’m really happy I went with the chai because unfortunately the shots were slightly burned, only to be somewhat masked by the sweetness of the chai. For $ 4 in my own mug… a dirty chai with burned shots just isn’t for me. Tragic because burned shots are the sign of a poorly trained barista. Maybe if I had gotten another barista I could have been a returning customer.

Super nice people on a rainy day visiting Sonora. I loved that they had so many alternative milk options. Roomy and friendly. I definitely want to visit Sonora again so I can hang out at Sonora Joe’s and write poetry. :-)

Decent coffee, nice vibe, BUT I would not recommend coming to Sonora Joe’s within 30 minutes of their stated opening time. I arrived at 8am(opening time) and the shop was dark inside. A few minutes later I saw staff cleaning things up inside and thought they must be about to open. I spent 15 minutes waiting outside their door wondering whether I should leave or wait it out. Would have been thoughtful for one of them to let me know when I should come back instead of leaving me waiting. I’ve read other reviews with the same criticism. At 8:15 they unlocked the door. Once inside they were still sorting things out and the coffee wasn’t finished brewing. The folks were polite but never said anything regarding opening late or «thanks for waiting,» I simply got my cup black cup of coffee and left. Will make my own coffee next visit.

On Friday 8/21, I arrived about 7:50 am. Thought 8:00 is kind of a late opening for a coffee shop. Had to be at the courthouse by 8:30 am. Waited around until 8:05, and there was still no sign that anyone was planning to open up that day. By that time there were three of us waiting around. So we all left. We never did find a cup of coffee in downtown Sonora. Grim.

Really cute coffee shop. The owners are really friendly. We got California breakfast, and it really hit the spot!

The only reason we came here was because of the reviews. Saw the ambiance was just as it was described as soon as we walked in. The board games, chess board table all ready to go, a rack of guitars, bongos, we loved the look. The staff was super friendly, the lady Barista complimented my dress and the guy was very accommodating and check on us. It’s an order at the front and then sit down kind of place, but the guy offered to take our order at the table if we wanted, saying they weren’t busy and he wouldn’t mind. It was really kind of him to offer. The breakfast burrito was sooo good, and fresh. They took a little while to make, which my husband and I always appreciate because we know it’s being made right and fresh if that’s the case. The coffee was on point, I drank mine too fast! But they give you free refills. This place rocks! –out of town tourists

I’ve been checking out the coffee scene for months now here and I have to say that when it comes to the best cup of joe this is the place. Nice easy atmosphere, fast WiFi, and excellent coffee. My only complaint? It gets packed! But seriously who can complain about success? Awesome Joe.

This place is nice and very«Sonora Like». The wait staff were nice and informative. It was a major plus that they had several syrup options. I ordered a almond milk latte with a pump of mocha. I was definitely satisfied. They do close shop at 5pm, which I do think to be a bit early.

Everything here was okay but not great. Drinks were decent, barista was not very friendly and in a hurry to get back to sitting at his computer and the place looked like it could use a good cleaning.

The customer service at this place is outstanding! This was my first visit after passing by it every day on my way to work for over a year, and I’m glad I finally stopped. The cashier/barista was incredibly pleasant. I work in customer service myself, so I have expectations when I go out, and they certainly exceeded them at Sonora Joe’s. This was probably my most enjoyable coffee house experience. The cashier/barista even informed me that they do free refills all day, so if I brought my cup back anytime before they closed, they would fill it. Incredible! How can anyone compete with service like that? Besides the spectacular service, the atmosphere was nice, the prices are very reasonable, and the coffee and bagel I had were delicious. I highly recommend this place, and I can’t wait to go back!

Our group of 4 came here and loved the first impression of the local coffee shop. Very cosy, great artwork, a rack of guitars, and an inviting chess board all ready to go. When we went to order and we surprised at how much sass we got from the barista. Now, I enjoy my small business owner sass every once in a while, but this guy was in the verge of rude. When I ordered my drink I accidentally asked for a tall size(I’m a Starbucks barista, sue me), and I got the look of death. «Soooooooo…is that a small? Large? What do you want?» Woah. Then when our drinks were ready at the bar we had no help from the guy as to which 3 hot drinks were which. Just wasn’t feeling the love from this place. If you’re looking for a little barista love to put a smile on your face, or a pep in your step, or brighten your morning… Not the place. But it’s got a great vibe in the seating area!

Enjoyed the world’s best Chai Tea Latte here this morning. It was surprisingly big for a size small, the top bit was foamy & rich, & it came sprinkled with cinnamon. Good Lord. Amazing.

I’m always biased towards local coffee shops. The layout of this one remains consistent with Gold rush theme throughout the town. I ordered a tropical smoothie(forgot the exact name). It was very good and had many different fruits like peaches, mangos, grapefruit, etc. and I’m sure some ice cream because it was too good to be just all fruit. I didn’t get to order coffee, but my coworker did quite a few times.

This is just an excellent coffee shop. If you enjoy an Americano, ask them to make you a four shot Americano and make sure they put it in one of their glass mugs. Outstanding. Also just a nice place to meet someone. Not loud like some places.

Watch out… out of towner comin’ thru… I don’t think the downtown would be complete with out a local coffee shop. All the lore that one would imagine for a local coffee shop. Homey vibe, no frills, and super low-key. Not hippy, although all the wood décor, but just good ol’ coffee… Iced coffee was good, not the cheap Foldger’s flavors or the bitterness that is Starbucks. Good coffee, and more importantly — doesn’t charge for additional Soy Milk. I thought they’d scorn me for using my debit card for a $ 2 purchase, but they were totally cool with it. The Lil ordered one of their special smoothies — enjoyable, but not the best. She mentioned it might have had 7-Up in it… more fake fruit flavor, than actual fruit — but she sucked the whole thing down, so I doubt it was that bad ;) They had ample seating for the 8 of us. Seating to meet all your coffee shop outing needs — table and chairs, couch, love seat, wooden bench… take your pick! Small town coffee slangers making out of towners happily caffeinated :)
