The Studio: School of Classical Ballet

I highly recommend The Studio for both boys and girls who are serious in learning the art of ballet.
It has been a privilege and pleasure to see my two daughters dance at The Studio of Classical Ballet. Both girls have learned and grown so much during their two years at the Studio. We greatly appreciate the discipline and structure; the attention to detail and the focus on flawless technique.
We have also been impressed by the support among the students, who encourage and challenge each other to do better in a non-​competitive, supportive manner. The teachers are interested in building group and individual camaraderie with their dancers.
The Studio of Classical Ballet is for serious-​minded children and young adults that have a thirst to learn the art of ballet. In the youngest age classes, enough fun is infused to engage squirmy bodies and make them want more. As the dancers reach about age 8, they are expected to maintain discipline and focus, which works for some and not for others. As the dancers mature into teenagers, their training broadens and the instructors provide tremendous hands-​on coaching and share personal experiences to help the dancers deepen their technique and relationships.
I also greatly appreciate the emphasis by the staff in teaching and mentoring male dancers. The boys work very hard and provide a good balance in a primarily all girl environment. Opportunities to dance with boys in occasional partnering classes have been a wonderful addition to my teenage daughter’s ballet experience.
This is by far the best classical ballet studio in Santa Cruz County.

This ballet program features small class sizes, focused instruction, and committed instructors. It produces capable dancers who have the potential to move up in the dance world if they so choose.
