Great place for trying out new brews and growler fills, staff will happily give you taste tests. Prices are decent. Great selection of beer on draft. Frequent on their beeru are southern tier, saranac, stone, singlecut. A smattering of local stuff like crooked ladder, a couple imports like Hofbräu. A decent local place for craft beer lovers.

I found this little craft beer store adjacent to a venerable country wine store in Miller Place. It’s main feature is the wide tap system for growlers fills, while it also has some cold shelf space for 6 packs. I had to laugh when I first saw the growler unit as it sports an aluminum gutter system for overflow like one would find at Home Depot. Very efficient and clean, it was obvious great care was taken to clean it everyday. No buildup, nothing sloppy. Greeted warmly with my arms filled with Bordeaux wines, the counter guy helped me with my bags and then he helped me make a selection. With an array of local craft beers whose masters I know by name, I tried Blind Bat and Two Roads before taking both Tap and Cask are my favorite ways to receive beers as they radiate the magic of the brewer’s touch much in the same way a vineyard might attribute the ethereal magic of terroir(earth, area) to its wine. Looking back, my visit was a very good experience worth repeating often.

Super nice growler fill station with decent selection of bottles and cans to back it up. Getting into home brew supplies, not much yet but ready to order. Picked up a growler of Dirt Wolf, plenty of non-IPAs to be tried too. Think he has 20 taps, decent prices and good turnover. Worth a look!

Just stopped by here yesterday for the first time and was shocked to see over 20 beers on tap had a great selection as well as bottled beer. I also turned my head to realize they had improved making section which I browsed and then bought a starter kit as well as a filled growler. I will defiantly return!

My first visit to TJ McBrews put me on sensory overload. The shop is small, but carries a fantastic selection. The focal point is the wall of taps. Amazing that a shop with such minimal square footage can provide a selection of tap beers so tremendous and diverse. Not exactly sure, but I am certain they stock at least 30 tap beers. They fill 32 oz. and 64 oz. growlers. You can either purchase one in store, or bring your own. The owner-operator was incredibly patient with helping me narrow down my selections. He was focused on customer service and all but insisted that I sample a few before I made my choices. This guy is proud to offer this vast array of beers. From commercially available«high-end» beers, to micro-brews, both local and from afar, this place has a beer for everyone. The owner boasted that he carefully selects his tap beers, and that some fly out of the shop in no time. Kicking a keg in less than a day in such a small community shows that TJ McBrews is constantly taking the pulse of its customers and delivering what they want. I brought my own growlers, one small and one large. We tried the non-alcoholic tap root beer and a Summer Shandy. Once home, they did not last long — both were incredible. If you have never tasted tap root beer, you must. You will never look at a bottle or can of root beer the same way afterward. I’m looking forward to frequenting this place. It’s a local a mom and pop shop — they also own the wine/liquor store next door. TJ McBrews is a store that I’m looking forward to visiting regularly.
