Never been on a charter before. I mainly inland sail. So was amazed how helpful they were. this is how you do it, oh lure stuck here let me get it, lost a lure here is a new pole… keep going…, capt fish on… ok get her close it I’ll net/​grab it to pull it onboard… take it off… and put it in the bin for ya… I felt bad lettin em do all the hard work but was probably a heck of a lot faster that way :) not to mention we did get plenty of crab, bottom fish and some lingcod. Five stars for all around great experience… highly recommend and will go again if I ever make it out to this side of the country again.

I called 4 days ago and booked a charter boat for crabbing in the Yaquina Bay. I was greeted on the phone very professional and friendly gal who was very knowledgable of what they offered. I was booked for a 3.5 hour excursion on Miss Raven for $ 40.00.
I drove down from Seattle and was running a little late due to bad weather and traffic conditions. I called to let them know and they reassured me to drive safe and they will wait a little but for me. Fortunately I made it just in time.
When I arrived, everyone knew who I was and was greeted warmly and most definitely welcomed. The Skipper (Mike) and his deck crew were great. They were all very nice, friendly and full of knowledge of the habitats and everything I needed to know about the area.
We only had 5 passengers for the day but they sure made it fun for everyone. We all came out at the end of the day with a good catch, everyone was happy. We are greeted at the end of the day with an offer of cleaning cooking our catch for us free of charge. Who doesn’t like free? I do!
This is first time I’ve ever booked a charter boat for crabbing. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend this place, especially the Miss Raven crew, they also do deep see fishing charters too. If I ever book a charter in the area I would definitely book with this Newport Marina Store & Charters.

Small store right at the boat ramp. Good info on fishing & crabbing, what’s hot & where. Pretty good small selection of tackle, bait and drinks, not much in the way of food. They’ll boil your crabs for you, & you can sign up for a fishing charter with crabbing added on.
