What can I say, the best track experience hands down in the Midwest. A very pretty environment, clean and tidy bathroom facilities and really yummy, reasonable snacks. The staff is friendly and safety ordinated. A good place to spend a family friendly afternoon

I first went here a looong time ago. It’s a beautiful area, with loads of trees and greenery all around. The facilities are nice enough. The track itself is nice. This time, I was there to spectate at a MotoVid track day. For the uninitiated, MotoVid is one of a few organizations that runs motorcycle track days at various facilities. These aren’t race events; rather, they’re meant to help motorcyclists build up their skills(and corresponding street safety levels) in a controlled environment, on a track. No need to watch out for cross-traffic, nor any of the other distractions/hazards that pop up while riding on the street. It’s also a lot of fun. There’s a nice little two-story clubhouse area where you can sit and either enjoy a picnic lunch, or else snack on some of the grub you can buy from Café Fastee, the little café downstairs. They offer some basic breakfast sandwiches, burgers, fries, onion rings — the kind of stuff you’d expect at a racetrack/stadium, but without the ridiculous prices. The bathrooms — apparently sponsored by Kohler, as the sign on the outside of the building states clearly — are quite nice. It’s a pretty relaxed place. You can basically walk wherever you want. I’m sure that’s different while events are going on, and security is probably tighter when actual races are being staged. But if you want really cool photos, you can go wherever you want to find the best vantage point from which to take them. They also sometimes allow overnight camping for people coming to track days, so you can stake out your place in the paddock area ahead of time. It’s a relaxed, idyllic atmosphere. Definitely an enjoyable experience. There’s one particular part of the paddock area where you can see Turns 5, 6, and 7 all from one spot. Very nice if you have any interest at all in track days and/or racing events.

This place used to be a 2, now it’s a 3. It used to be basically a campground w/s***ty track, but now it has nicer facilities. What it really needs the following: 1) Move walls further from the track. For amuture level road racing, there needs to be more run off room. 2) Clean up infield /Add gravel, paving. There’s not a lot of dry area for setting up your stuff. 3) Re-pave track. Some areas of the track have patches, which are inconsistant with heating(turn 7) or have dangerous curbing(turn 4). It’s no Autobahn or Gingerman, but it’s getting to be nicer place.
