Looks like Nardos is no longer in business. Stopped by at 10am on a Friday and the letters were scraped off the windows and equipment was stacked in the dining area. Bummer.

My boyfriend and I where out and about and decided we wanted to try something new. We were not at all disappointed. He had a delicious skillet breakfast dish and I had the most amazing Cuban sandwich. For how inexpensive everything was, they did not skimp at all. I almost was not able to finish my sandwich there was so much to it. I can not wait to be able to go back again!

Fantastic breakfast place! Great service. When you eat here the staff make you feel welcomed and like family. The skillets(especially chorizo) are delicious. I also enjoy the breakfast burrito. My kids enjoy the pancakes and scrambled eggs. They also love that the staff is so friendly to them! I have never eaten lunch here, but after the great breakfast experiences that I have had, I wouldn’t hesitate to eat lunch here.

Nardos is awesome. Best place to eat in the stateline area. The biscuits and gravy are just as good as their tacos. Try the chilaquiles. You won’t be disappointed.

My friends and I are in town from Chicago and were hurting from a very successful wedding last night, so a hearty breakfast was in full order. We found Nardo’s through Unilocal and it lived up to the reviews! My friends got a Veggie and Texas skillet while I ordered what I was praying they’d have, a big breakfast burrito. All three of us cleaned our plates, the sausage burrito was of good size and was made the right way. The tortilla was a Mexican style pressed and crispy, delicious! In lieu of potatoes I got fresh fruit which included watermelon, cantaloupe and pineapple, I’d made the right choice and recommend others doing the same. This will be a definite stop the next time I’m in town!

Why are you sitting there reading this when you could be eating a homemade breakfast enchilada with salsa verde served by a woman named Valentine? Incredible food with diners that know one another and service that is café perfection.

Got off the highway to fill up on my way to the Dells and did not feel like eating at Denny’s. Search Unilocal and found this place as an alternative. Fantastic food! Had the chorizo skillet. Very tasty and pretty hot! I will swing by again next time thru.

We just moved to the area from the Chicago burbs and were hoping to find a place like this! The food was absolutely delicious and the owner and staff are so friendly! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but I’ve found so many great restaurants are like that. I highly recommend the special Mexican breakfast and the mole, delicious!!!

Outstanding!!! This is a gem within our neighborhood! It’s very laid back and takes you back to the good olé Café days. When you first see the building, you don’t see the modern/fancy place that you see all the time… but the good news is that this place proves that a lil café can knock the socks off those other so called fancy competitors. So here’s the deal… The service was outstanding! Very polite and patient. The food was incredible! We ordered the popular Baked French Toast and oh my goodness! It’s popular for a reason.(And I’m not even a sweet tooth kinda guy) oh and by the way, I didn’t even have to put syrup on it. That’s how good it was. Then we also ordered the Mexican Skillet and the Enchilada Skillet… OHMY! Just outstanding. The salsa was better than good and the skillets will fill you up for sure! I can eat a lot, but even I struggled at the end. We also met the owner and he is a very polite and nice person! The bottom line is that this place was an all around wonderful place to go and they will be seeing us a lot more often!!! Go check it out and let me know if I’m wrong.:-)

Used to go to Nora’s, no more. Nardos is great! They use fresh potatoes, cooked perfectly! The chorizo burrito is awesome! Bit greasy, but it’s chorizo. Small place, but the food is great! They def prepare it all in house. Sorry Nora’s, I won’t be coming back there when Nardos is 3 min away! Not much in the area so I was super happy after eating here, knowing that I found a new breakfast spot!

You’ve got to try the weekend special: Baked French Toast, it was heavenly. I got it to-go and even though it was drenched in strawberry syrup(YUM!) and banana slices, the recipe uses a bread that is thick sliced and chewy and it didn’t get all mushy and fall apart. The custard that they use to dip the bread in is divine, it almost had a flan-like taste. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it!

Waiting till the Sunday brunch was almost over, I ordered the chorizo skillet. What a happy surprise! This breakfast entrée was made with chorizo(Mexican pork sausage) crumbles, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, jalapenos that were just hinting at spiciness, topped with 2 fried eggs all perfectly cooked with golden hash browns. The execution of the skillet was comparable to a 4 or 5 star restaurant. The salsa verde(green sauce) was pleasantly spicy. The rye toast was really lightly toasted, not the warm buttered bread so many places serve as toast. The waitress, Wanda, was superb, attentive but not hovering. She handled my special request to have salsa verde, as well as, checked back to see if the food was alright and if i needed anything. The entire elapsed time from entry to exit was between 40 — 45 minutes and it seemed to me to be a leisurely brunch, not at all rushed. The atmosphere is a little dated, but still nice with comfortable booths along the outer walls and 7 or 8 tables in the center of the dining area. From what I could tell, the facility was clean and neat. When I arrived a few regulars were finishing their meals and were in conversation with nearby diners, lending an ambiance of friendly banter, catching up on the local gossip and commenting on the news as CNN was on the flat screen against one wall. All this for under $ 8.00 ! What a great value and a great breakfast entrée. If you are in the area, it is well worth your trying. Nardo’s is located on S. Park Ave., ¼ block north of Gardner St(Rt. 75) just west of Rt. 251 and about 5 minutes west from Exit 1 of I39/51/90.

The breakfast burrito is the best, seriously. I’ve never actually been able to order anything else off the menu! It’s always great, and is served with awesome homemade salsa. This place is nice and clean to eat in, but I often carry out my food and it is just as good! Nardo’s is a great little breakfast joint – by far the best in South Beloit and maybe even the Roscoe/Rockton area.
