Pretty decent for the price. Seems like just a place for truck drivers to sleep. Not all that clean but fine for a quick over night stay.

Yep, I agree with Keith K. A decent, clean and comfortable motel. I did feel like Siri was getting us lost as we neared the motel, but then behind some industrial building, there it was. I found this place from Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. The service was friendly and the room was clean and quiet. The breakfast is a bit sparse, but for what I paid it’d be a bit much to for me to expect more. Thanks for your reviews, y’all!

Super 8s are a hard motel to categorize, unlike Motel 6, which are almost across the board cheapies at best, Super 8 Motels can go from crack house adjacent to down right fancy. The Super 8 in South Bend is one of the latter. Altho it’s located in a somewhat sketchy looking area(really more industrial than sketchy), it’s quite lovely once you get into the parking lot, even better inside the motel. And to call this one a motel is a little misleading, it’s more of a Hotel. It has a full lobby with breakfast area and TV lounge near the check in desk. There’s even an indoor pool! All the rooms are inside entrance, unlike most true motels. The rooms are pretty standard, but I mean that in a good way. They are clean, spacious and come with all the necessaries(IE, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, ironing board, etc) to make for a pleasant stay. A modern flat screen TV with all the regular channels, including HBO, and free wifi. Altho, the wifi is without a password, so don’t plan on doing any online banking or shopping while you’re here, it would be very easy for someone to hack into your computer thru such an unguarded wifi network. I arrived without a reservation because one thing that I have found to be true about Super 8 Motels is that they often get reservations screwed up. Reservations are made thru their 800 number and not directly with the motel of choice. Maybe time for a revamp of the reservation line? just saying. When I got here the girl at the night desk, Felicia, was friendly and more than helpful. She even got me a great rate for the night, props to you Felicia. Breakfast is the basic with a few extras and runs for several hours so you don’t have to rush to get your morning started. I was just on my way thru the area, but very happy I gave Super 8 another try(I vowed I would not after they screwed up my last reservation).

Room was very clean and spacious. Very attractive too and you could tell it had been recently renovated as everything looked new. Had everything you could want — coffee maker, fridge, etc. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for moderately priced with helpful staff then this is the place. Super 8 is clearly not some ritzy 4 star hotel but it’s nice to have true customer service.

At the time of our stay, the hotel was in the process of updates, so some minor things weren’t completed in our room, such as the walls not being completely repainted and there was not a toilet paper holder in bathroom. Besides that, the room was very clean and quiet. The front desk clerk at night was very friendly and gave us late night options for dining(We checked in at 10pm). Breakfast was standard but well stocked. This was one of the better hotels during our roadtrip! Location is a little weird at night… you go down a side street and it’s pitch dark. However, the parking lot is well lit and seemed safe.
