World’s Famous BBQ

Can’t go wrong with the Beatrice! Smell the smoke from the smoker that goes all day long. This place is good!

The food is great. Problem is they are always out of every thing. Today no chicken or turkey tips. I know what you’re thinking, its because it’s so good. Well if it happened once in a while I would agree but its all the time.

On drive from Pittsburgh to Chicago we randomly stopped at World Famous Barbecue. No cars in the lot, but we took a chance. Do yourself a favor and go out of your way to visit this place and try the rib tips. They have a wonderful cole slaw also. Only complaint was the tiny size of the slaw serving but the rib tips were aplenty and excellent. If you’re not a sauce person get it on the side. They tend to pour it on heavy. Proprietor very friendly and remarked how many Pittsburghers have stopped there recently.

Tip Tuesday is great. Service is great. It takes a few to get food because they prepare each order. The best in town hands down & they have turkey tips on weekends its great to. They do hole turkeys smoked for hours but you must order few days advance got one for family 16lbs everyone loved it it was gone in no time very juice tender.

Went here with a few coworkers for lunch. Few things on the menu weren’t ready so I got the beef brisket. Covered in Open Pit sauce and the beef was very fatty and not cooked/​smoked long enough. Just because you smoke some meat and make it swim in store bought BBQ sauce doesn’t mean you should have a BBQ joint. Very disappointed and didn’t even finish my meal. Left hungry and $ 10 less in my checking account. Another coworker couldn’t finish his meal either.

The absolute best BBQ in the land! Hands down! The smoked turkey was awesome and the price was very reasonable! Customer service is excellent and they make you feel like family! Love this place! They need to franchise!

Where do I start… I ordered a Puller Pork BBQ sandwich since they were out of ribs at 12:30 on a weekday. My sandwich came with all of 2oz of pork, and a healthy dose of nasty Open Pit BBQ sauce. It also came with fries that must’ve been cooked around 11 that morning. They were out of BBQ baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, and my container of pasta salad I ended up with was ¾ empty… They were apparently out of that too. They did offer me a refund for the pasta salad though, so I am grateful of that.
I do not think I will be returning. Partially because of my experience, mostly because I do not believe they will be in business long.

I was REALLY excited when I saw we were getting a new BBQ joint in the area!
The first couple visits were good, not the best I’ve ever had, but good.
The last 3 times I’ve been in I always ask for my fries to made FRESH.
This place ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT make fresh fries on request!!!
I have watched the lady (the owner, I think) in the kitchen area drop cooked fries BACK INTO THE OIL/​GREASE to make them hot again, but she ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT make them fresh for her customers!!!
Re-​dropping fries is a no-​no in every restaurant I have ever dealt with! This makes the fries hard and super-​saturated with grease!
Also my BBQ chicken was served @ room temperature! This is dangerous as food should be held at a minimum 135 degrees to kill bacteria!!!
In my honest opinion this owner does NOT care about her customers; and now I no longer care about «World’s Famous BBQ» (so called).

Wanted brisket sandwich but it wasn’t out of smoker at lunch, so went with pulled pork. BBQ was good, but sandwich was not warm. Came with fries and slaw for $ 7 which is very reasonable. Good lunch crowd, everyone seemingly with rib tips. Tuesdays are $ 10 tips specials. The dining room and kitchen area are clean and it looks like they are still finishing up minor details. A couple tvs in dining room as well. Service was very friendly. Will have to come back and try tips and brisket to finish review.
