Beautiful park with wonderful staff(volunteers?) in the butterfly tent! Visited this park over the summer for a run and stumbled upon their wonderful gardens and wildlife. Lots of paths for hiking, biking and dog-walking. If you live in the area, definitely worth a visit to unwind and get some outdoor exercise!

There’s a lot more to this park than meets the eye. Always improving, very peaceful. Great place to walk.

Just the mere fact that Milltown actually has a park like this earns it three stars. Ignore for a second that the walking path borders a Superfund site and a dilapidated old tire factory, and enjoy the quiet serenity that this short half-mile path affords you. Square up your mile-long walk by parking at the far end of the playground across the street from the entrance to the path, or continue walking up Washington or Main Streets and into town. There’s not a whole lot here to do, but it’s a nice change of pace from Heavenly Farms where I usually walk. And there’s something more enjoyable about walking through the woods than walking on a long trail of hot asphalt that goes in a circle.

small but quite pretty park on a medium sized dammed pond/lake there are a couple short trails in the woods near the lake/pond which are definitely worth exploring, a boat launch, an area occupied by rutgers agricultural extension service with some crops and the county ag extension office, evidently a decent amount of fish because i saw a lot of people fishing, a small pond seperated from the lake by the woods, and a very large grassy area suitable for picnicing, frisbee, and such. the old stone dam is picturesque, as is the waterfall going over it, the fishermen concentrate near the outlet of the lake at the dam. the mill trail through the woods features a lot of ferns and other vegetations, some sections which are rather rocky with some large stones around, thick forest with a variety of rather tall trees, and a nice vista of the lake facing the sunset viewed through the woods on the other side. not really noteworthy enough to be a destination iom and of itself for those who live outside Middlesex County, but a pretty nice place.
