Went recently to see Church Basement Ladies and it was first rate: funny, well acted, timed. No complaints whatsoever. The facility could not be more charming and our server was obliging and very nice. However, the food was unbelievable. And I mean bad. The buffet included dry chicken and stony dumplings, spinach– omg, macaroni and cheese, gravy, pulled pork– I think, peas, water melon pickle, mashed potatoes. The deserts were tasty but they were very small. There was no spoonbread, all of the buffet servings were miniscule, the peas were from a can and the chicken and dumplings were chicken and dumplings in name only. We will not stay away because of the food, we’ll simply do what everybody waiting in the parking lot was doing– waiting to go in for the play. Don’t want to forget the ornamental plant display in front, which was gorgeous.

Great times. We are season pass holders. Love the buffet and plays. Only improvement needed is some servers are not quite on the ball at the dinner buffet.

My family went to watch See How They Run! It was hilarious and even my kids loved it and want to go back! I can’t believe that I have been in the Richmond area 12 years and just discovered this gem! I can’t wait to go back!
