James is the most honest and hard working mechanic I know. I’ve been a client here from decades he’s serviced previous cars to my present two Acura TL’s and ML350. My 2004 TL was having issues with its clutch, so I brought it into James who flushed the master clutch cylinder and thought it would correct the issue. Unfortunately the problem arrived again within two days, so I left my vehicle for a couple days for James to personally drive and find out what the exact issue was. Long story shortened James ended up replacing the clutch master cylinder and another part which fix the problem. I didn’t need a new clutch which the Acura dealer wanted $ 2,400.00
On top of James saving me money he also issued credit for the first repair of flushing the clutch lines out since that didn’t correct the problem.

Yes, I drive 19miles to get my prius checked, fixed or oil changed here. So does the boyfriend. Its worth it vs getting scammed by 4 other shops already. We finally found an honest cheap auto shop, and sticking to it. Tks SRS!
Came here probably a couple more times since July 2015 1^st review. I have an old 2008 prius and the usually problems around the high mileage I have is coming up.
1) Prius car alarm kept going off, all day and night! Every time I get close enough to it, turn it on, walk away, it goes bizark. Thought it was my keys, but I changed the batteries on the key remote and still didn’t work. He was able to turn of my honker so I was able to survive another night until his shop opened with the part available. He was able to fix it! My back truck sensor got messed up because the rubber came off or melted into a different area. Didn’t know it was going to affect the sensor, so I should have fixed it before SoCal summer melted it in weirdly.
2) Prius has 3 different batteries. My car decided to crap out and not even turn on one day. It wasn’t the starter, it was the other battery that costed around the same. Thank goodness it wasnt that $ 3k battery! He was able to fix it the same day!

After years of bring cars to James for service, he never let me down once. The hardest thing is that the charges have been very honest and fair. Today I brought my recently purchased 06 BMW 330i to his shop to look at a common electrical problem; the left rear window would not stay close. He looked at it and said, «it’s easy.» Then I waited for 15 mins, and he used a device to connect to my car. Within it five minutes, the window worked normal. Even my friend who I brought along was so impressed by his skill. I told him that the reason that I am not afraid to buy a 10 yr old BMW because I know you.

James and the staffs are very knowledgable about all kinds of vehicles, and he doesn’t charge anyone extra even when you are a «car idiot» like me! That’s why I have been coming to him for at least 8 years.

The service started right away with a warm greeting and right to the point. «What’s wrong with the engine?» He checked with his computer and identified the problem within ten minutes. He gave a quote and we double checked the price of the parts and labor with others in the area and he gave the best deal. This kind of quality cannot be matched by others with bigger stores and staff in the area. The reason lies within the knowledge of the business owner.
James did a great job of giving an honest service in the automotive field, no up sales, just straight to the problem and get down to business! You could say that he is master of all auto trades because all of the awards for his knowledge and trade are in his office and that definitely is more reputable than some random guy at the corner of a gas station.
If I can sum it all up what I’m feeling right now, I want others to experience the sweet deal it is to have a trustworthy mechanic working by your side to get you moving in life! Definitely bring your business to this gentlemen here.

Great guys, good prices and fantastic customer service. I’ve brought in a vehicle over the past weekend for a full brake set replacement and these guys got me in and out of there in less than an hour. Would definitely come back for future services.

I would not recommend this place to anyone nor rate 1 star but I have to in order to post this. The owner, Rudy there will take you for your money and Mickey mouse the job. He repaired my sister’s car which he got the part from the dealer that was under warranty (free) then had the nerve to charge her for the part, we’re talking almost $ 1k. Not to mention, he worked on my car due to a check engine light then the same day after paying hundreds, the light comes back on. Wasn’t that the reason I took the car to him in the first place, WOW! Talk about, scandalous movida. I received my car back with the licence plate off the front bumper which was also loose and a big scratch and dent on the front rim. So since I didn’t recognize the damage until a week later because I had the car parked and drove my other one, what could I do. Plus the car’s tags were expired so I couldn’t drive it That’s why I took it to him in the first place in order to pass the smog. Like they say, todo se paga, karma!

Great auto repair shop to have your vehicle taking care of with any minor or severe mechanical problems. They’re very professional and very honest auto mechanical shop that I have ever seen. Recommend this auto repair shop to anyone, who have a problem with your vehicle.

Been coming here for years. Back when they were in the old location. They are very trustworthy and will not try to rip you off. Excellent work at a reasonable price. What else can you ask for?

The wait might be a little long, but its well worth it. James will give you the best pricing and is also honest. He won’t replace any part unless it really needs to be replaced. Would recommend to other friends

Been coming to James shop back when it was still on Rosemead. It’s unfortunately very rare to find a trust worthy mechanic these days, but James is the best. Tells you what your vehicle needs and what can wait and best of all at a great fair price. It’s not surprising his business has continued to grow over the years. They also do smog checks as well. I have taken my BMWs and Hondas to him. My family always brings their Mercedes to him. I always send friends his way as well as I know they will be taken care of.

Warning, took my car here for an inspection to make sure the buyer was buying a solid car, after opening hood for like 5 minutes and glancing at it he wrote an arms length list of things needed to repair on car, including that it needed a head gasket? car was never put on lift or had compression tested, lost the sale but took car to brother who is a 22 year experience technician who works at a dealership and verified that car had none of the issues this fool mentioned, be very careful!!!

I have no idea why theres only 6 rating here. James offers very cheap labor service, somehow dont even charge you. He gives you lots of advices and explaination patiently. If your car doesnt need to be fixed, he will tell you so even this means he couldnt make any money. Went to the other 5 star company which says my car needs to be fixed for 300 $. James explained its not necessary. He even said he could teach me how to switch my tire just in case if something breaks it, for free, at about 6pm when he is iff from work~ My sister has been his loyal customer for many years. James sells his service in a real honest and ethical way. He is also professional and experienced. Definitely worth more than 5 stars. Will definitely recommend! Go there and give it a try and you can always leave if you dont like it. But i dont think you will regret.

I’ve taken my car here for an alignment, major service, oil change, and rear brake light problems. I saved so much money since my BMW warranty is up! I had problems with my rear brake light connection and he was able to fix it for around $ 100. That’s a lot cheaper than what BMW was trying to charge me, even with a discount!

Just want to let everyone know that James is star certified for smog. Apparently he’s had it since last year. The price is around 40 dollars.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that they aren’t always quick with getting things done. They’re popular, so they’re busy, so if you have a repair or even just need a smog check, bring a book.
That said, I’ve been going here for 6 years and have had good experiences. James is helpful and honest. There have been multiple times where he discovered things things that needed to be fixed and when I asked him about the urgency, he was frank and didn’t at all try to pressure me into making expensive repairs that weren’t immediately needed.
You can ask real questions and get real answers. Two weeks ago I had a substantial coolant leak, but I HAD to go to work that week. I asked him how I could get around the repair for two days and he was frank about what to do if my car overheated or the coolant all poured out and what I could expect. In general if I ever need to delay repairs, he’s clear about the consequences.
I have a VW, so more often than not my repairs require him to order a part and I either have to wait till the afternoon or come back. This may be common anywhere, but I’m just putting that out there that if you have a foreign car there may be an issue with having to order parts.
You can also get a cheap, honest smog check here. I know there are lots of test stations everywhere, but after being heavily ripped off by two other places ($ 60 for the test and they charge you for the retest versus $ 32 with James and a free retest) this is the only place I’m going for my smog test from now on.
The place itself is nice. There’s plenty of space, you can sit inside or outside, it’s quiet and not off a major street, they have outlets if you need to plug in your electronics AND THEY HAVE FREE WIFI. Like I said, the wait is sometimes longer than I like, but at least I can stream Netflix.

I took my Mercedes to him several times to hope he can help me fix my car, He connected it to the computer and said it was a bad throttle body when it was not, so i changed it myself and he said he could not find the problem and said it might need an engine wiring harness, Basically he was totally clueless, and DID not want to work on my car, i practically had to beg him to work on it. i left the car there for two days and he did not even begin to look at it… i thought this was a trust worthy place… But he will still charge without doing anything to the car…
I decided to take the car out of his shop and the Bumper had a chunk of paint missing from they way they park the cars, no care what so ever…
I ended up taking the car to Jeff’s auto repair in santa monica and they found the problem in one day. and it was a simple replacement of an Over Voltage Protection Relay. something so simple. and SRS automotive could not figure that out… I do not recommend this place to anyone… Rude and VERY unhelpful and would rather play a guessing game.
Im so glad i took out my car, Jeff’s auto fixed my car for $ 200. If i would have left it at SRS Automotive i would’ve spent more than the cars worth in just playing guessing games… I Practically gave away $ 120 to SRS Automotive for them to just look at it and still be no help… Thanks for nothing, and Thank you for the paint damage to my Bumper on my car… I will be sure to recommend people to stay away from your shop…

James is so great. A honest, reliable, no fluff kind of man. Worth the drive out from the westside :)

This has been my family mechanic for a while now but the service has gone downhill.
This place is just way too busy and I always feel like they do a really rushed job.
Had my check engine light go off 3 – 4 times already in the past few months and they finally manged to fix it (I HOPE!).
