Brilliant dude. He hates boring things and wants to keep things funky. We came to him with a floor plans, colors and some styles and he made a completely custom set of modular furniture for us. it’s AWESOME.

I bought a sofa from Marc last summer. I wanted a couch that was twin size mattress deep. I have a cousin from Australia who comes for long term visits and I only have a one bedroom apartment. So this couch is AMAZING in that it doubles as guest sleeping but totally works as a stylish couch when it’s just me. Also great for cuddling. Marc was awesome, made it exactly as I wanted, I had a deadline and the couch was done in record time. The sofa is gorgeous, has had an enormous amount of use over the past 8 months and still looks pristine. I’ve slept on it myself and it’s totally comfy. The price was right, cheaper than buying a couch of this quality from a regular retailer. And since I paid half down, half when it was done, it was easy on my budget.

I had order several different items through Marc, a sectional, bed, coffee table, dinning table/​desk. Overall I’m very satisfied with the items that was custom built. In order for them to know exactly what you want you need to be specific in terms of dimensions and provide pictures. The more details you give the more satisfied you will be in the end. Also you must understand that these are items that are built to your specific request so they will take time to complete. In the end you are getting the look/​style you want for a fraction of the cost. The wait is totally worth it. I would definitely recommend this business to friends and family. I’m totally happy to be enjoying my new furniture.

Best experience with Total Design Furniture! Considering this was our first time getting our couch reupholstered I was nervous, but their service is superb! I’m so thankful my friend referred me to this place. I’m very satisfied! Our 10 year old sectional looks new! And now I can say I have a mid century piece in my house. I love it ! Our quote for 4 – 6 weeks for a sofa took 3 months, they promised it would be ready for an event and after several inquiries on our part the sofa was promised to be delivered at a particular time, then a second time was given, then a third time was given on the day of the event. When you call you go to a recording that states voice mail has not been set up.
The cushions were made out of 2 different types of material, the side bolsters were not made of the same material, instead a extremely rough material and they did not match in size to the back cushions, it was like they took them off another sofa last minute. The frame has a scratch in the wood and there is a screw tip sticking out of the wood I scraped my leg on. Seat height is incorrect. The frame is open in the back and the zipper shows right down the middle instead of being hidden per contract. Pictures were given to match to contract and they do not.
Cannot recommend this company.

I found this business via internet search and so glad I did. Marc made 2 custom «Z» chairs with walnut wood and custom cushions within a couple of weeks. My husband and I love the chairs. Go down to their shop to view their other mid century furniture. The prices are very good. They do custom work, so bring your ideas. The delivery guys were first rate and took the chairs upstairs for us without a problem. I definitely recommend them for your furniture needs.

My friend told me about this place and everything he said was true: affordable, stylish, custom couches in mid century style. Marc is super helpful and nice and has a custom throne he sits on as well. Couch was as promised, on schedule. Delivery guys were adorable and nice. Couch is… I now have the nicest couch of maybe everyone I know. It is beautiful and perfect. It is my dream couch! Wish I had a bigger place so I can get more furniture from these guys but for now I will just have to recommend them to all my friends.

TDF, if you are reading this. keep up the great looking couches and prices, but also learn to under promised and over deliver, tell me it will take 8 weeks instead of 6, then deliver in 7 weeks. Keep the customer in the loop– a simple text message/​email takes no more than 5 – 10 minutes of your time, especially if the customer has already reached out to you once.
I first found these guys on Instagram and totally fell head over heels based on price for custom styling. A friend of mine had gotten a custom kidney shaped sofa made for 2,000 $ that seats about four ppl from another company. With TDF, we purchased a 9×10 foot sectional for just under 1,400 $ and it seats at least 6 – 8 ppl, if you are price conscious and want a custom piece, I do recommend these guys.
DURABILITY–
I’ve only had the couch for about 3 mos. We picked a linen-​like fabric with the medium firm cushion. After about a week my SO complained that we should have gotten firmer cushions but for me the sectional is still firm to my liking (I’m less than 110lbs for reference). My SO and I have fallen asleep many times on our couch. My sister also loves our couch (style wise) and she also feels that the cushions are firm enough for her, but also keep in mind a heavier person may find the medium firm to be a bit soft. We were told the cushions have a 5-​year warranty and if we wanted new cushions after that it would be about 150 $. Also keep in mind firm/​softness of a couch is an individual preference and ours is built to our expectations.
Overall, the couch seems well built with a solid wood base. We do not have any kids and when we do, I hope this couch will last us 10-​years or more.
CUSTOMER SERVICE & BUILD TIME–
TDF had under estimated the time they needed to complete our order. It was originally quoted 4 – 5 weeks, when our order was placed on April 11. On May 5^th, middle of week 4, I emailed to inquire about our order since I left a 40% cash deposit (about 600 $). In the reply email, I was told they were planning to finish the couch by May 14^th (Thursday) and deliver on Friday or Saturday (that would have been exactly 5-​weeks from order to deliver).
May 14^th comes around and I didn’t hear from anyone at TDF, not a problem. I called them on Friday afternoon (May 15^th) for a status update and this is where it gets a little sticky. Marc was short with me, almost annoyed it seemed like. I understand the demands of a small business owner, trust me I do, my father was a small business owner and some days he was so busy that he would complain about not having time to even go take a piss. I have friends that are small business owners that work weekends and well pass midnight some weeks to meet their customer demands. I can totally empathize with the hard work that is required when running a small business.
In the period that our couch was being made I email one time and called one time for a status update. My brief conversation with Marc was– it isn’t done yet and he’ll let me know. So I waited patiently; 4-​days later on May 19^th I get a text message saying they would like to schedule delivery for Saturday. May 23^rd. My couch gets delivered as promised and everyone is happy, so for our couch it was 7-​weeks from order to delivery.
Overall, the build time/​quote isn’t horrible and I would have given 5-​stars for customer service– only IF I had been notified that they were running a bit behind. I equate it to calling a restaurant to let them know you are going to be 10 – 15 minutes late to your dinner reservation. It could have been text messaged or emailed at any point in the process and it would have been a-​OK with me.

After finding Total Design Furniture on Unilocal I stopped in to see the couches they had on hand. They have a lot of fabric options available and because of that I couldn’t decide that day (WAH I know) so they let me take some swatches home which was very helpful! You basically build your couch from the design, fabric, cushion firmness to wood stain. I made a second trip back once deciding on my fabric choice and asked to have two couches I saw on Unilocal made into one for me. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone I know. I’ve had the couches for 2 months now and just reached back out to them for some pillows. I didn’t want to make the drive to them so Marc let me PayPal the money and he shipped them to me with no issues. Thanks so much!!!

Marc worked with us to make the perfect couch. So many options & he helped us sort it out. He made a custom length w a matching custom ottoman.
We had only one visit to his showroom & work space to pick out the options.
It was very reasonable in price, made and delivered at the promised time down to Orange County.

Got my new sofa today and its all i thought it was going to be and then some. Very comfortable and the legs are awesome. Now i have to order the matching love seat or chairs because im so happy with how it turned out. ;)

Unfortunately two hrs later my sofa broke! Yes it broke. I sat on the right side and boom! Leg broke. Lol. Embarrassing glad i was alone. No i am not fat i weight 120. So wtf right? It was held together by two tiny staples n a small screw. Anyhow within two days it was fixed free of charge. So atleast they are taking care of it. Customer service is great!
Now i have had the sofa about 2 weeks and guess what? Yup. Once agin the leg broke! On mothers day while i had my disabled father sitting on my sofa watching basketball. Super!!! And more embarrassing having to try to help him up and explain it wasn’t his fault it just the way its put together. Im so not sure if im upset or annoyed at this sofa and company because the customer service is good lol. They offered to refund the cost of the base and replace with non slanted legs as i had previously asked them to. So we shall see what happens. Also still have yet to receive my bolster pillows. :/​. Blahhhh. So disappointed because i really wanted to order the matching love seat :(. #booksforlegs

After renting a new apartment, my girlfriend decided on a mid-​century look as our overall theme. I loved the idea, but not the prices. When she showed me sectionals she liked going for $ 2000-​$ 3000 I desperately looked elsewhere for an alternative.
I thought that I could maybe find a nice used one on craigslist and stumbled upon their ad. A little skeptical I did more research, found their Unilocal page and decided to make a visit. When we got there, I was honestly surprised. The show room was full of beautifully made sofas and sectionals. In another room was all the fabric and wood options.
After taking some time to consult with Mark we decided on the size of our sectional, the fabric we would use, the wood color for the leg stands, button placement, etc. It took about 4 – 5 weeks for the sectional to be made and delivered, all for about $ 1000.
The details of the finished product were great, we are very happy and will be back again.

We’ve been looking for affordable vintage furniture for quite some time. If anyone has done the research, you know you can’t find a vintage piece for under 500 dollars. Just when I thought I had to break the bank and spend over two thousand for vintage couches, I found these guys! They are so affordable and have reasonable prices!
These recreations of vintage pieces are impeccable. So very well made. We headed down to their show room on a Monday and picked out our furniture pieces and had them delivered 2 days later! We will most definitely be recommending them to our friends and family!

First of all, the owner Marc is a pleasure to deal with. He is a creative designer and prides himself in customer satisfaction. We had a couch and two chairs made by him which we are extremely satisfied with.
We were undecided if we wanted a sectional or standard sofa. Marc suggested we could have a standard cushion made which would allow us the choice of either.
We were surprised at the quick turnaround from order to delivery. The pieces are beautiful and fit with our MCM décor. All of his furniture is well made and economical.
We will definitely do business with him in the future.

This is a one stop shop for people that appreciate usa made, high quality goods. These guys can make ANYTHING into a reality. I had a couch in bad shape and these guys not only reinforced, reupholstered and restored it but were patient with the whole process. We sat down discussed fabric and that was it, simple and painless.
Since that job, which was a month ago, I asked for them to make a couch from scratch in the same fabric. Everything about it exceeded my expectations.
If you’re on the fence don’t wait a single minute more, I did my fair share of research and this not only blows all the others away in quality but turn around time too. Don’t be a cookie cuter furniture owner, go the custom route or chose one of their great models from their showroom and stand out!

I had been looking online for a mid century style couch for a while, when I came across Total Design Furniture on Instagram. I dropped by their showroom a couple days before I had to move and picked one of the couches in the showroom. Marc was great to work with, they were able to deliver the couch to Long Beach the next day! And i even purchased some extra legs for my projects.
The couch is a beautiful color, I have already gotten compliments! It’s a great statement piece at an amazing price! Similar styles will cost you 3 or 4x what you will pay at Total Design Furniture!

Went to Mark after a pal had him make a matador sectional. Went in to buy one thing left doing something totally different and way cooler, ended up taking an additional chair and ottoman to be recovered. Mark was upfront about time and cost and he nailed it.
Im honestly looking at other spaces in the house for where I could have mark make me something else.

I found Total Design Furniture on Craigslist and I have to say, I couldn’t be happier that I did.
I’m one of those west siders who rarely makes it east of the 405 (I know – lame) so when I discovered these guys were in South El Monte, I wasn’t sure it would be worth my time to make the trek all the way over there. When I arrived, I was greeted by Marc, the owner. He showed me a number of pieces in his showroom and talked me through the process/​pricing for having a custom piece built. However, one of the couches (pictured here) in his showroom was exactly what I wanted so I purchased it on the spot. Marc arranged for delivery within a couple days and I’m thrilled with my purchase. The construction is top notch and the couch is gorgeous and SO reasonably priced! I can’t say enough good things about these guys!

I found this place from the ads they post on craigslist. I liked their designs but loved the prices even more so I contacted the owner Marc and set a time to meet up with him at the shop.
These guys manufacture custom pieces of furniture and sell direct to the customer. By cutting out the middle man they can offer some really excellent prices. We chose every aspect of our couch; the fabric, buttons on the pillows, size, height, arm rests, etc. you name it we chose it. Marc even told us that if we wanted to we could bring him a picture of what we liked and he would make it for us. We ended up choosing a modern style that he specializes in. He was able to make our 5 seater blue sectional in under 1 week for $ 770 which included delivery. Yes!!! Such a great price and the quality of the product is top notch.
I am looking to get a few other pieces to put into another room and the first place I will call is Total Design Furniture!
