This place is a total rip off!!! I just bought a cake for mu hubby and it was nasty dry and seemed old! $ 55 I don’t care if I we’d of paid $ 100 but if it was good. It’s nasty people check up cake and stay focused don’t let the outer looks of the cake fool. you. They look nice but taste old and nasty!!! And sadly u have to add a star or else I wouldn’t of been able to let u people know!

I’m the such a procrastinator and needed a birthday cake. I usually go to star lite bakery but they were out of cakes so i had no choice. The staff was absolutely horrible as well as women cutting in line. I was hoping the cake would be worth the long wait and the crappy and rude staff… WRONG! Cake was dry and tasted like it had been there for days! Very disappointed save your time and money people!

This bakery has the worst service. We pre order the roscas and none have the lil baby. I called the place to get an explanation but the person that answered the phone provide bad service. He tried saying he has to speak to the baker tomorrow and when I asked for the «manager“he suddenly became the manager. I have to say this is a bakery I will not go back to.

I had ordered 40 cupcakes for my daughter’s class party. I got a great deal and everything was set. I went to pick them up and I was told they were not made! Are you kidding me?! They had jotted down my # and they didn’t have the decency to call me? What kind of business is this?! Never again because they ruined everything for my 3 year old.

This is one of my «go to» places when I’m in need of pan dulce (sweet bread). The place has changed a bit over the years, I don’t think their selection is a large as what it use to be, in a sense I’m okay with that. I like having fresh bread.
Whenever I need to bring something easy to a pot luck I call and order a few dozen of their mini bread. It’s always a hit and great with coffee for office events. The prices are great and orders can be placed with a day notice.
I recently placed an order for 4 dz mini bread and totaled out to $ 16.00.

Don’t get me wrong. The bread is fresh and yummy and stuff. But I just got off the phone with the RUDEST staff. I was trying to order for a large party too. But that rude attitude totally lost my business. Get some manners, dude.

Love this place!
I’ve lived in South Gate for well over 10 years and my family has frequented this bakery for many of those years. Their mini cookies, tortas, cupcakes and variety of ‘panes dulces’ are the best in the area.
The bolillo w/​cream cheese and jalapeño and the powdered mini cookies are my absolute favorites! My friends love the tamales and tortas from here :)
Staff is nice and the place always smells delicious! Everything is always fresh and warm and delectable.

I got a cake custom made from here in December for my daughter she has a Minnie Mouse boutique themed party and I wanted a cake that was the main piece of the party and I got it! I got there and my cake wasn’t quite ready I had to wait a few minutes cause it was a difficult cake I admit it was a butter cream strawberry with fondant accents it was PERFECT thanks!

As we were picking up our order, a lady was in line in front of us with a tray of bread. The cashier looked at what she was buying and said «hold on, I think we just baked some of these, let me trade these out for fresher ones.» That is all you need to know about this place.
On our own order, we had ordered Empanadas and cake, then later had to change our order and pick each item up on on seperate days. Manager was totally accommodating. Service and freshness are tip top here.

It gets one star because I can’t give it –1 star. We go to pick up a pre ordered birthday cake, and they did not make it because they forgot the design. They had the phone number but couldn’t be bothered to call us. The hallway stank, and this place would likely not pass the Heath inspection that I will ensure happens very soon. Avoid at ALL costs.

My favorite bakery in South Gate!
This place is so nostalgic. I love walking in through the backdoor and looking at all the sample cakes behind the glass then entering through the glass doors (which used to always shock me) and seeing all the toys that can be added on top of cakes. My brother and I were always excited by them and would always stare at them while our parents were in line to pay… wishing the toys were ours! Everything from Minnie & Mickey to Barbie to Batman! When my parents would bring me here as a kid, we’d pick up at least $ 15 worth of pan dulce for the whole family. The sweet smell of delicious pan dulce from this bakery always reminds me of being a little girl. The bread always tastes SO *fresh* and their tamales are delicious too!

Fresh, fresh, fresh bread. Beautiful pastries. They also make tortas and small bites to order. Great selection of cookies and snacks and they have a great tasting tres leches cake. HIghly recomend them for special events.

We got there to pick up our tres leches cake and gave them our order receipt. They stated that the cake was not decorated (even though we ordered a week before). I had to call my sister to find out what decoration she ordered. It was a Madagascar order.
I had to wait over 30 minutes for the cake, even though there were no other customers in there.
–Finally I got the cake and it looked different than what my sister ordered from catalog. I asked for a discount for the wait and they said no. I then demanded a discount for the wait and bad design, and they discounted only 3 dollars of a 40 dollar cake!
The cake was not that good either, a little on the dry side for a three milk cake.
Needless to say we will not be ordering cakes here ever again. Ever.
Bad quality and bad customer service, is a double bad whammy.
I will also be calling the owner to complain about this issue that happened on 8−1−12
1 star for location convenience and thats it.
