Located in a worn down shopping center in the southeastern part of South Gate aka Hollydale. The food here is VERY GOOD! I did not expect such good quality Italian food from this establishment. I highly recommend their meatball sandwich and spaghetti. Their pizza is good, too. I suggest the mini pizza size versus the large, because the mini has better flavor and texture. Definitely a good place to eat if your in the area.

As a first timer and a residence here in South gate., I decided to give this place a try. My husband wanted to try the pastrami sandwich which I’m not a big fan of., but after giving it a try I loved loved it., can’t wait to try their steak sandwiches and pizza!

After seeing both positive and negative reviews on this place, I took a chance and ordered a medium pizza. Boy, was I surprised at the quality of this pizza. Dough was spongy and tasted and felt like if it was made from scratch, pepperoni and the cheese both tasted fresh as well. The cashier was really friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant felt like if I was more at home than a place of business. The only thing that wasn’t that great was the décor but it really didn’t matter as I didn’t go in for the sights.

This place is a hidden gem deep in the heart of Downey! Ordered the steak sub and was impressed how big the sandwich is at such a reasonable price! But that’s not the real draw. The thing that makes this place a must try is they bake their own bread on the premises.
The ingredients are fresh and the bread is amazing. All that in an $ 8 sammy. It’s just the sort of place Unilocal loves.

My first time here. I ordered the pepper steak sub. The only regret I have is ordering the small one. Damn that was yummy. I can’t wait to go back.
The staff seems really nice. There was an older gentleman walking around helping people with their trays. This place is a gem. Although I work in the area, I wish I had one of these near home.

I been coming to this place for about 10 years now. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I normally order the steak sandwich, pastrami sandwich or the pizza. I the pasta is decent but I think the subs and pizzas are better.

Colleagues mentioned that this place has huge sandwiches. So, I decided to try it out.
I ordered a large pepper steak. Total with tax came to $ 8.80.
Pros:
Generous with portion of meat. Sandwich itself was adequate. Although it was not as huge as what I was led to believe. *laughs*
Specials were attractive.
Friendly staff? They actually had a smile on their face when they took my order! (+1)
Cons:
The sandwich was lacking flavor. It was just OK. (–1)

great sub sandwiches! any time I’m craving a good sandwich I think of this place. I have a Subway walking distance from my office but I rather drive to get food here. they’re super fast with your order. one time I ordered a large Italian sub (half no pepperoncinis) and our sandwich was made, split in half, and wrapped all before we got our receipt. it took them like less than 2 mins to make it. I was really impressed. I’ve never had to wait more than 5 mins for a sandwich here, even during lunch time. the subs always taste fresh and the price right. if you want a straight up good sub sandwich this is the place.

We came here for a 6 foot sub for my son’s birthday. It was a big success! They don’t skimp on the meat nor pack it with shredded lettuce. The bread is soft and moist. All the deli meat was flavorful. The service is friendly and fast. We ordered it 24 hours in advance and were able to get it next day at 11am. They require a $ 10 deposit, which you get back once you return the wooden board it is served on. All of our friends loved it and they are now asking for the name and address. Highly recommend.

Thew family and I have been eating here for years. Have never had anything we were disapointed with. The supersteak is our #1 sandwich to order but the ham turkey and bacon never disapoints either.
Wish they stayed open longer and made deliveries!

Georgios is those restaurants that you call «hole in the wall». The best subs ! I now am a vegetarian and being one does not stop me from coming here. I have tried in the past the philly cheese steak (yummy) the meat was very juicy.
Today I had a veggie sub. (Cheese, mushrooms, black olives, tomato, onion, pickles & pepperoncini) i do recommend you tell them you want cooked mushrooms or else they will come raw. Your choice. The place is not fancy at all and its a little older but the food is super super yummy.

This place is so fricken good! Placed my order over the phone because I was on a lunch break and even though I showed up a little early they had it hot and ready for me to pick up.
Don’t be fooled by the looks of this place, it’s a small mom and pop shop but their steak sandwich is the best Philly cheesesteak I’ve ever had and I’m very picky when it comes to meat. It was not fatty at all and it had so much flavor to it. The Bread makes the sandwich overall, it’s warm, crispy, and soft all at the same time. I believe they bake their bread daily. They also gave me extra peperoncinis. I will most definitely be back here and it is worth the drive! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This place was recommended to me by a friend and after reading the comments from rest of the Unilocalers I had to try.
The sandwiches are awesome !!! From the fresh rolls to the meat sliced fresh from the roast and grilled right there. Definitely will come back to try the rest of the menu. As for now, the mushroom steak rocks …
