Much bigger than expected. They had some very cool vintage style furniture and a ton of carpets to look at. Little pricey.

Although technically this is the outlet store to their flagship in NYC the prices don’t differ too drastically — at least what I’ve noticed in terms of furniture. Admittedly, I don’t really spend too much time looking through their carpets whenever I visit. Although the prices are way beyond Ikea and Crate and Barrel they are definitely better than the DWR Annex. Most of the furniture selection tends to veer toward Belgian, French, and Industrial with a modest selection modern pieces. You won’t find too many mid-century modern pieces at this store if that’s what you’re looking for. Also, you won’t find too much lighting selection like the Broadway store. However, it is possible to score excellent deals on some floor models AND new in-production items like dining chairs. The best time to shop is during their twice yearly sales where they markdown their prices by 20%. The sales associates all work by commission but are all incredibly friendly and not too pushy at all.

My husband and I went to ABC carpet and home looking for 2 new area rugs for our home. It was 5 pm, and the store closes at 7pm. No sales associate was relatively interested in helping us with any area rugs. We asked multiple times for help only to be told that someone would help us sort through the rugs. No one ended up coming over to help and we started going through the piles of rugs by ourselves, and when my husband asked for someone to help me for the last time because I was having trouble moving the rugs, the sales associate went over to help my husband… I WASTHEONETHATNEEDEDHELP! We walked out of the store and won’t return. If you’re going to be open til 7 pm make sure your staff doesn’t check out at 5 while people are still trying to purchase. We were so disappointed, and will not return.

I came here twice two weeks in a row in search of the perfect desk. I failed both times, mostly because their desk options are kind of limited and too bulky/ornate for my style. But I found a beautiful $ 499 coffee table that retailed for three times the price(ours was a floor model I believe) that now sits happily in my living room. The first weekend I went, I found a chair I wanted to take home, but knew I would have to discuss with my homey. I took some photos, and then when I emailed them two days after I saw it on the floor, it was already sold! Move quick! BUY! They still had the chair in another color when I went the following weekend, but by then our need for higher armrests made us feel better about missing out on the sale. Staff is super nice and approachable. They actually approach you fairly quickly upon entering the gigantic warehouse, but don’t hover too much. I want to say 50% of the store is carpet and the rest of misc. furniture, i.e. couches, beds, dressers, coffee tables, dining, etc. They have some really amazing pieces here in really GREAT condition, but they are mostly investment pieces — unless you can shell out 2k on a bookshelf that you want to toss in the next two years. I’d also suggest renting a U-Haul or bringing an SUV if you are looking for bigger items. If we couldn’t fit the coffee table in the back of our car, it would have been something like $ 150 for the delivery charge, which is 30% of the total itself. I think they have a flat rate fee per item and then it goes up, so a $ 200 large nightstand would still have a $ 150. But seriously, I love my coffee table. I love ABC Carpet and Home, and I love things that are deeply discounted.

I recently visited the store for interior design inspiration. To my surprise, there was a great 4th of July sale in the works. The selection of merchandise seemed much more diverse compared to my last visit. I typically see a lot of shabby chic, eclectic, traditional, cottage, Asian, but this time I saw a lot more industrial chic furniture and contemporary pieces, and at fairly reasonable prices. I eyed a simple red metal desk for $ 495 and coveted an elementary school chair for $ 29. There was also a bright yellow geometric side table that went for under $ 250. All in all, great window shopping trip.

THEFALLSALEJUSTSTARTED! They have some great pieces here and if you could get in on a sale, it’s even better! I did experience a small glitch by the delivery guys today. When they showed up for delivery, they told me I should have been charged $ 20 extra for a «walk-up fee» which I did confirm w the store later. But it always leaves a bad taste when you are told that at the final hour while the delivery guys are practically holding your furniture as a hostage. Anyway, Susan in the delivery dept was extremely helpful and explained the process. All worked out at the end.

I can’t afford anything from here, but it sure is nice to walk around in. My favorite piece was a side table that looked like a stack of books.

I love this and I am very fortunate enough to live very close from this warehouse. I bought at least 3 pieces of great quality furniture at really good prices. Especially great when they have a sale!
