If I want sushi, I go to the Master Chef. That’s all you need to know. It’s that good. Why go to a mediocre chef when you can go to Master Chef!

This new Establishment is fantastic. The food is top notch and authentic. Prices are very reasonable. It’s BYOB with no cork fee. I recommend it to anyone driving through or living close by. I ordered the sweet potato roll and beef hibachi. Food was excellent. Staff friendly and informative. I’ll be back.

Sushi was excellent and very fresh. Arrived a little before our order was ready and watched it being prepared. Sushi chefs here were very skilled craftsman. All my rolls looked delicious. I felt like the prices were pretty average for this area, we got 8 rolls and it was about $ 60. Will go back at some point.

After eight months we still think Master Chef has the best sushi in 413.

Fresh, beautifully constructed sushi and sashimi. Perfect for eat in or take out. Fresh fish, salads and veggies. Friendly service. Sit at the sushi bar to enjoy watching the master chefs at work.

Freshest, best tasting sushi in the Valley. I’ve eaten at Tsukiji market and can say Masterchef is the real deal. The owners drive to Boston to buy fish a couple times a week. It’s fun to try different items(although I thought the ramen was a little salty) but you can’t go wrong with any of the sushi menu.

Had one of their lunch combos, miso ramen noodle soup and spicy California roll. No complaints from me at all. Everything was great and definitely will come back very soon.

I really like this place. We sat at the bar for sushi. It’s a casual, yet nice place that was once a home that has been converted to a restaurant. It has a really cozy atmosphere and the staff is very kind and friendly. We went a little after lunch time, and it was quiet. My meal was served hot and it was very tasty! The sushi menu is large and the sushi is very fresh. This will end up being one of our favorite sushi spots in the area. Definitely a place we’ll revisit soon!

Staff was cordial. Food was ok. Atmosphere was lacking. Won’t go back. For sushi I head over to Iya’s kitchen, I find that to be far superior.

I thought the sushi at Master Chef was solid and inventive. The tempura starters(chicken and veg) were good but were unlike tempura that I’ve had elsewhere. The miso soup was very salty(for my taste). The kids had yakisoba and Bibimbap and did not really enjoy their meals.

The food here is really good, and the service is very helpful and friendly. I’ve been twice, and each time I get a bunch of different veggie rolls. They don’t have a liquor license, so it’s BYOB.

Master Chef would be a very difficult name to bear but the folks at MC make it look easy, doing it with confidence, style and flair. Don’t go expecting a traditional sushi bar seating arrangement with a chef working behind a Hoshizaki refrigerated sushi case and customers seated in front perched on narrow counter rails. You can elect seating at a real bar with plenty of elbow room and great vantage points to see all the goings on or at a table in one of the two adjoining rooms. I chose the bar and glad I did, I was able to take good pictures and asked plenty of questions which made my lunch time stop even more enjoyable. I ordered the sushi luncheon special which came with snapper, blue fin tuna, Faroe Island salmon, and yellow fin tuna and an eel roll with avocado. My host said they make several trips to Boston per week for fresh fish, I was more than pleased with my selection as I felt it was some of the best sushi I have had in the area. When I found out they make their kimchi in house I ordered a side of that as well. The kimchi had been made the day before; therefore, it had not fermented or aged, providing a whole new flavor profile which I found extremely satisfying. I liked the clean crisp flavor of the cabbage which came through above the spicing providing a decidedly different texture and taste than it’s aged counter part. There are ten or so Korean dishes on the menu providing additional dining options other than sushi or sashimi. Master Chef lives up to it’s name and might very well carve out a new name in the area, what more could you ask for!!!

Brought the wife and kids for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Sat right down at the sushi counter and were greeted immediately. The menu has a great variety. The restaurant was very clean, cool and comfortable. The kids and my wife had hibatchi chicken, noodles and vegetables. They said it was fantastic. Everything was deliciously hibatchi cooked with a nice sear and sprinkled with sesame. The vegetables were fantastically fresh. Generous portions, even the kids size hibatchi is enough for an adult. I ordered the«sushi regular» which came with a great hot bowl of soup, a california roll and 8 pieces of fresh fish and rice. The tuna, salmon, yellow tail and red snapper were delicious and clearly very fresh. The sushi plate came to me quite a bit after the wife and kids got theirs, but not a big deal. The kids loved watching the sushi chef’s working their craft and he answered the kids’ questions happily. You should definitely come!

Sushi always fresh, service is timely whether take out or in the restaurant, the spicy meals have well proportioned spice/flavor without overwhelming the taste and lastly, the noodles and Hibachi are a good addition to the menu and offer enough variety to keep you coming back to try more. The ambiance of the restaurant can be described as quaint with a touch on NY hustle n’ bustle because of its smallish space. The Lunch Special menu is a bit light, but the part selections are multiple and flexible. Overall, for Sushi and Noodle fans, this is a «must try»!

Meh… I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. Did takeout; 2 caterpillar rolls, SAC roll, salmon roll and sashimi app. $+40; yikes. *WAY too much rice; I was peeling off ½″ thick clumps of rice so I could taste the fish. Had a plate full of it by the time I was done. The pieces of salmon in my roll were maybe ¼″; the rest was rice; rip-off. *If you love sauce all over your sushi, you’ll probably like this place. Too much mayo-y sauce all over the caterpillar rolls. The spicy tuna inside was quite tasty(but again, too much rice). *Fish is high in quality; sashimi was by far the best part. But only 3 pieces vs 4 at Ichiban Sure it’s super-busy right now; 30m wait for takeout last night. But unless they start cutting back on the amount of sticky rice and upping their fish offerings, I won’t be back.

This is the ONLY place you should be eating sushi! Incredible food, incredible people! We are never disappointed by this wonderful place. Everything is fresh and the presentation is perfection. This is the place all other eateries should strive to become. We love it!

This is by far the best sushi restaurant I have been to outside of Japan. They pick up the fish themselves from markets in Boston every couple of days at 430am to ensure the freshness and quality. The salmon and tuna sushi just melts in your mouth with the delicious fatness goodness… It is pure magic on your taste buds. There is no fishy aftertaste like some places serve. You can actually taste the ocean. It is so clean. I am completely blown away. The Kim chee is extremely fresh tasting; some Kim chee tends to have a rotted flavor but this one was just very clean and yummy. The chef/owner studied aboard under a sushi master in Japan for eight years, moved to Korea for ten years and worked at some of the best sushi restaurants in NYC before coming to western mass and opening up this spot. I can not recommend this place enough. Rarely do I go out of my way to write a glowing review like this, but, this place is just unbelievable and deserves it! I will be back ASAP!

This place really seems to be setting themselves up for longevity and success. My guest and I accidentally arrived only ten minutes before the kitchen closed. I was blown away by the kindness and service we received. I was treated just as well as the first customer of the day. The food had great portions for the price and tasted great! The downside –the décor is a little odd the lighting is a little bright the music a little loud and no alcohol :( My only hope is this place adds some rotating specials because I will be back frequently!

Hands down the best place in the area for the freshest sushi, sashimi, and rolls. We have patiently(and sometimes not so patiently!) been waiting for this place to open up the last few months and we certainly were not disappointed. My husband and I ordered the sushi sashimi deluxe platter with an extra Boston roll on the side. Very generous portions! Several hours later we are both still super full. Sitting at the bar is our favorite spot since we get to watch the intricate handiwork of the sushi chefs. Louis and John make this place run like clockwork and the service by all of the staff is nothing less than amazing. Looking forward to trying all of their new specialty rolls and the various soups!

(I’m hesitant to write this post, because I want to keep this place all to myself.) … For those who know me — I’m a pretty particular when it comes to things … especially food. Even more when it comes to Sushi. Master Chef is the very best Sushi place in all of Western Ma. The head chef, Kilsoon Ryu,(aka Lou) is an extremely talented chef — His meticulous attention to detail, knife skills and creativity — are hands down the absolute best around. Lou has a rare gift for combining flavors … they dance like an Argentinian Tango on your tongue. Trust me — I’ve been to all the wanna be sushi places in Western Ma — and they really do not measure up — they’re not even in the same league … They’re just opening up — so there might be a few little bumps or kinks to work out — but I promise you — the food will make it all worth it.
