Used it and was impressed. The taste combos are fascinating, as well as the smoothies are very well created. The employees was friendlier than most locations, in this a part of city, and individual when i pondered my choices. I’ll be returning.

Are you the Sultan of Brunei, have you recently won the lotto, do you light your cigars with $ 100 dollar bills, did you invest in Apple in the early 1980’s and still have not sold? If so you might, I say might be able to afford to buy ice cream at Kilwins. Shocked I say like I saw a ghost dancing on my dining room table after I was told how much a quart of vanilla ice-cream and a small cup of pumpkin ice-cream cost. Nope I’m not gonna tell you yet. Sit yourself down and listen to my tale. We had come to South Haven for vacation and rented a house and wanted to bring some ice-cream home for dessert. We walked into Kilwins and asked if they had packaged ice-cream, the girl helping us gave us the same look I had when I was told the price of the afore mentioned ice-cream. After asking the manager she said they do have quarts so we ordered a quart of vanilla and a small cup of pumpkin ice-cream to go. When checking out that’s when my jaw dropped I mean hit the floor hard drop, like so hard I wondered if I might need to go to the emergency room. Here it is sit yourself down cause you might faint, call the ambulance cause you might need the defibrillators to restart your heart, yes it’s that bad… ok ready. Twenty five dollars, one quarter of a c note, enough to get a real steak dinner with dessert or enough to get you and one friend drunk at a dive bar. It is just crazy stupid how expensive this ice-cream is I mean dumb times 2. twenty for the quart and five for the small cup. Was the ice-cream good … it does not matter cause for it to be worth while they would of had to had a bikini model serve it to you on a 100′ yacht cruising the south of France while being serenaded by sirens of the sea, guess what that’s not on the menu. Guess what is on the menu the guy who owns this place cruising the south of France on his 100′ yacht being serenaded by sirens of the sea while a bikini model serves him not Kilwins ice cream he can’t even afford that probably Ben and Jerrys.

Blue Moon flavor and a signed picture of Sarah Palin proudly displayed– yes, pinch me I’m in Michigan pretending to be a local– yocal. My single scoop gave me away as much as the peace sign on my tee shirt. Que runs out the door but moves quickly. It was a fun wait to chat up my neighbors next in line. Fudge samples and carmel corn are top notch. A carmel apple traveled nicely and was a sticky reminder of my time here almost three days after purchasing.

We frequently eat Sherman’s ice cream at Captain Nemos(just a few stores down), and I stopped in at Kilwins to compare. Kilwins is a much nicer looking place with chocolate and fudge options as well. I was going to place an ice cream order for my entire party there, but when I saw how small the double scoop was in comparison to Nemos, I stopped to ask the price. Not only was the portion smaller, but the price was a lot more expensive. Suddenly I realized just how messy the girl liked who was helping me – it looked as if she were wearing a quart of various flavors. That’s pretty much where it ended. I left with my overly priced scoop of salted caramel and went to Nemos to get the rest of the ice cream. As for taste, all the ice cream was great that night, but it hurt a little to know that I could have had more for less money.

Handcrafted coffee to order, piping hot, delicious. Biggest and best root-beer float in town. Generous portions of ice cream scoops for the kids.

A summer staple in Michigan Beach towns. The ice cream is good, very good. Large servings for a single in a waffle cone. You get two large scoops. There is usually a long line. Price is above average, chocolate, carmel corn, and fudge is over priced. Coffee is very good. I recommend coming in for coffee if you have strong will power and can resist the smells of delicious fresh made fudge. I would rank them as my 6th favorite Michigan Ice cream 1. Shermans Ice Cream(Get it at Captain Nemo’s) 2. MSU Dairy 3. Plainwell Ice Cream 4. Hudsonville Ice Cream 5. Moomers(Traverse City) 6. Kilwins

We were in South Haven as tourists. We RV full time and our freezer is not large enough to hold ice cream. Soooo! We hit different ice cream shops all over the U.S. This place is about par with other ice cream shops. Price is about normal. I think their candies and Carmel corn are really over priced. We would go back for the ice cream.

Very popular place in South Haven for Ice Cream. They also serve coffee and have specialty candies and fudge. I actually think there is a Kilwins close by in Plymouth, but truthfully I have never been in there before. We went in for ice cream but got a frozen banana, which was covered in chocolate and sprinkles or nuts. Yummy!!! Hubby got a coffee, was made very fresh, but it was unbearably hot and took quite a long time to make. Overall, it was a little overpriced but hey, it’s a beach town ice cream and sweet shop… what more can you expect?
