Best liquor store in town. Don’t waste time with the others. Great selection of everything you need: brews, ciders, wine and libations of every flavor plus snacks, cheeses, etc. Very knowledgable and friendly staff. Love this place.

This rating is based on one fact– you can create your own 6-packs from nearly ANY beer they have… and they have an outstanding variety. I’m from Chicago and always stop here to grab some unique beers to try. I usually can walk out with 18 – 24 unique beers and I’ve had nearly 1500 unique beers in the last 3 years. Great variety! There is a cost to this, but this is a given when you can break up any of their 6-packs!

Awesome deli and liquor store. Great beer and liquor selection. We stopped in for sandwiches on our annual vacation and all five of us loved our food. We had the chicken salad, seafood salad, the depot, and the mailman. All were excellent. We also grabbed a bottle of traverse city whiskey while we were there.

The Unilocal app directed me here for local beer. I was hoping to find a make-your-own-sixpack option. At first I was disappointed, because the entire first two coolers were horrid macros and the usual sleepy suspects of the micro and import scenes. But then I turned a corner and found that about 95% of their far-back aisle is all Michigan stuff – including a make-your-own option! I was in heaven among familiar titles such as New Holland, Bell’s, and Arcadia, as well as others of which I’d never heard, such as Arbor, Atwater, Saugatuck, Short’s, Keweenaw, and Paw Paw. In fact, I had to work hard to limit myself to only one six-pack. First prize was a tie between New Holland Monkey King, Atwater Purple Gang Pilsner, and Arcadia Whitsun Ale.

Really cool local place to grab a six pack of some food local craft brews and other essentials while vacationing in South Haven. We also grabbed some deli sandwiches for lunch. They were the best food we have had in town.

They carry loaves of the best bread in the world from Salt of the Earth in Fennville. To be sure they don’t sell out, you can contact Salf of the Earth and place an order to pick up the next day at The Depot. Be sure to grab some adult beverages while you’re there. Awesome hole in the wall!

You’re in South Haven for a week and you need to stock up on adult liquid refreshments for your rental house. Where to go? You go to The Depot. There’s nothing that comes close here. And it’s very good. The beer selection rocks, and most of it is already cold in their impressive coolers. You can make any mix-match 6-pack you like, which is a nice touch. Their collection of MI beers is particularly impressive. Five stars for the beer. The hard liquor selection is decent for the size of the store. Nothing will blow you away. But it’s not embarrassing. I find their wine selection to be way, way too MI-focused. It’s easily half of their wines. Now I understand that they want to support local wineries. Fine. But MI wines are just not in the big leagues in the same way that the MI craft beers are.

My husband spotted this store the second we pulled into South Haven and between our group, we visited the store about 5 times in one week. They had a great selection of beers and wines in cans and bottles(good beer in cans are key for the pool/beach) and you could make your own 6 pack with any of the bottles which gave us the opportunity to try lots of local michigan beers. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the people who were working the desk. They were not helpful, not friendly, on their phone half the time and just all around seemed miserable to have to wait on you. However, this will definitely be a place we visit again and again on future trips to South Haven.

This place absolutely has the best sandwiches in South Haven. I thoroughly recommend the Gyro, Bagel Sandwich, and/or Fries Zucchini. A hidden gem!

Since the Wal Mart is not a place I go, I stopped in the Depot on a Saturday afternoon. They have a great wine selection, and to top it off the counter staff was really helpful and nice. Now I wish I would have gotten some food! The sandwich line was 4 deep, so I guess I should have noticed, since South Haven in early May is deserted. So, duh. However, I also grabbed some Basil & Olive oil Asiago that was delightfully priced and great on the palate with my Italian Red. The local grocery wanted $ 11.50 for the same hunk that was $ 5 here. I expected overpriced stuff in here because of the location. It wasn’t! Definitely give these locals a try, if even just to fight the man of Wal Mart.

The Depot was an amazing experience for alcohol when I visited South Haven. The staff were VERY knowedgeable and friendly. The deli was interesting, I only had a chance to sample the artichoke and asiago spread which was decision!!! Also I love that the Depot allows you to make your own 6 pack… This is when I was sold on this place!!! They have the lotto there as well and my fiancé and I paid 4 dollars in scratch off and won $ 28. I am definitely coming back to this place, they have an excellent selection of alcohol, delicious deli and friendly customer service.

For a small town deli/craft beer/wine & spirirs shop you could hardly ask for more in the limited space they have. DELIREVIEW– I wish this place was in my neighborhood! Watched them build a half dozen other sandwiches while waiting for my ham rollup, and my wifes veggie rollup. They looked so good i’ve vowed to go back over the next several days to try the Bagel club, and a few others. Plus wash them down with local hard cider or microbrew. The sandwhich was more satisfying than the fancy dinners I’d had the previous 3 nights in Chicago and South Haven. Now how do I get them tomove to Peoria AZ?

Went here a few times while on vacation in South Haven to stock up on a few six packs of beer as well as some bubbles to keep our BAC constant through the day. Good selection of craft brews in this small location and like the ability to mix and match my own six pack. The hours were great as well — we stopped in here at 9am to stock up on some champagne after our breakfast in town. Curteous staff and ample parking.

Short story: amazing hole in the wall sandwich joint, awkwardly hidden in a liquor store. Long story: A local recommended this place. I went in, saw a liquor store, walked out rather confused and assumed I was in the wrong spot… I walked around a while, didn’t find a sandwich shop, and went back in the liquor store… but this time I walked all the way to the back… ta-da, hole in the wall sandwich shop! I ordered the grinder… took awhile to get, but it was worth it. Out back there are some tables to enjoy this work of art in bread form. It probably wasn’t the healthiest option on the menu, but it was delicious. Also at our table was a Gyro, and a Mediterranean. I devoured my grinder so fast I didn’t have any room to try my friends sandwiches, but they both agreed that the Mediterranean was also great… but the gyro was so-so(typical, but nothing that will knock your socks off). Also worth noting, if you’ve got a thing for trains, this spot was an old train station, hence the name.

There aren’t any other legitimate options to buy beer and wine in south haven so this place wins by default. Not that it’s bad. The beer selection is good, not great. Nice feature that you can make your own 6 pack even though it drives the price up slightly. The wine prices aren’t at the painful level and considering they are essentially the only place in town, they could be a LOT worse. I’ve been there 3 – 4 times already this week — you’d think I could plan my alcohol consumption a little better! I’ll be be back. Probably after dinner…

You’d never know it from the outside but The Depot is without a doubt *the* place in South Haven to buy fine wine. They’ve got special occasion wines like Cakebread, daily drinkers like Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, and stuff in between like Ridge, Girard, The Prisoner, and more. Prices are a reasonable all things considered and they’ll do 10% off a mixed case and more for a solid case. Great spot to stock up on wine for your summer vacation.

This is the best place to go for your beer and liquor! They have a huge selection of local beers, and at least one staff member that actually knows what he’s talking about. My husband was like a kid in a candy store when he saw he could make his own six pack! And when I saw the«Skinny Girl» margarita bottles I was a happy girl myself! They also have snacks and a small deli, but we have yet to try anything there. It’s close to downtown and the beach too, perfect!
