Hackett’s Orchard

Cider donuts are awesome! My boyfriend ate all the ones we bought on our way back to Massachusetts.

Went here for some cheese and butter. They only had cabot which was kind of a bummer because I can buy it at the grocery store. But. the old lady that makes the cider donuts is a hoot and the donuts are unbelievable. So good.

This is a super farm in South Hero, almost just across the street from Allenholm Farm. We didn’t apple-​pick here but we did purchase some wonderful farm-​fresh products. To start, we selected almost 10lbs of winter squash — mostly Delicata (my fave!) and some Acorn and something we didn’t quite recognize that looked like a mini green pumpkin :) Super deal at just 89c/​lb for the whole lot. Wow! Delicata squash is hard to find locally at grocery stores, so this might just be our new supply, especially at these prices.
We also indulged in a half-​dozen cider donuts, which were speedily plucked hot out of the kitchen. Crazy-​delicious. You’d be mad not to visit this place if you’re in the area.
