Probably the best thing on the south side people don’t know about. Nice trails, nice people, nice facilities, nice price… if I lived here they would steal my free time, my life, my socialization skills etc. A southie gem

I love this nature center. Every year the weekend before Thanksgiving they hold a living history with civil war re enactors. I used to participate every year. The grounds are amazing and its really peaceful

Sounds nice, would really like to go on saturday for the bird watching. But mapquest says 46.68 miles from northbrook. Too far in my opinion.

I love this nature center! It has a great building with lots of colorful educational nature displays, beautiful gardens, and long, peaceful hiking trails. They have pioneer log cabins, animals in cages, and knowledgeable staff people. Also — free parking, free admission and clean bathrooms! I especially like to visit in spring, because they have a lot of spring wildflowers. One time when I visited several years ago, they had a wild Great Horned Owl nesting in a tree near one of the trails! So beautiful! Even though this nature center is kind of far from Chicago, it is easy and fast to get to because it is near 94. Just keep heading towards Indiana!
